First run of the summer

I should start posting times with my weight, too, heh. Anyway, I went for a run this morning, after my Sun Salutes (and even before breakfast)! The split times are less important than the fact that I actually went. Also, I kinda forgot to mark the first one, but an overall average of just under 11min/mi is NOT bad, considering the last time I ran was... 10 months ago, maybe?

Mile #1: 11.01.64
Mile #2: 10.52.19
Mile #3: 11.01.40 (with kick; definitely had slowed)
Total: 32.55.23

Also, this is my first run with my new Ironman (it does step counts and all kinds more crazy stuff) and according to it, my "3 mi run" I've been doing since living in Puyallup is apparently more like 2.82mi. Crazy. Apparently it was 4,951 steps as well, and 410kcals. Neato.

Monday morning run

Back from vacation on the East Coast, where several days were spent walking 5+ miles.

Mile #1: 10.00.57
Mile #2: 9.54.28
Mile #3: ~9.54.06
Total: ~29.49.20

Whoo-hoo, sub avg 10 min/mi pace!

Last run before East Coast vacation

The Fiancée and I will be heading out late tonight to go to the East Coast - Boston area first to see a German friend of hers, then some friends of mine. After which we'll also check out NY, hopefully to connect with a coupla friends I've got there, then drive up to Maine because.

I was good and went for another afternoon run, on Thursday, like I'd liked to get my schedule back to doing.

Mile #1: 10.04.41
Mile #2: 10.25.43
Mile #3: 10.04.94
Total: 30.34.78

Monday morning run

After a too long break from running (or any kind of sufficient exercise for that matter), here's what happened yesterday:

Mile #1: 10.12.25
Mile #2: 10.25.83
Mile #3: 9.55.41
Total: 30.33.49

Mile splits from last...Fri?

This week I took a break Mon, and opted to ride my bike Tues/Wed instead of running, and then took a break yesterday. I think these splits are from last Friday; pretty sure I took the weekend off. I aim to run again today. My big and second toes/where they connect to my foot have been hurting the past few days, kind of like when you jam your finger kind of pain.

Mile #1: 9.38.47
Mile #2: 9.38.00
Mile #3: 9.40.77
Total: 28.57.24

I can't remember the last time I ran splits that close. Though again, I must've slowed down quite a bit on the last mile, as the kick at the end helped average it out.

Afternoon run

Didn't run yesterday as when I woke up I was feeling my shins. I've had shin splits, and worse, before so I prefer to avoid that.

Today I decided I'd try getting back to running in the afternoon. This had the added effect of getting my other stuff done first, and then being able to more or less kick back post-run. Though I did grill up some steaks for dinner, and they were yummy.

My fiancée asked me why I'd run in the afternoon, as apparently it was 86ºF today. So go me. Nothing too impressive pace-wise, but I was impressed I didn't do much differently given the heat.

Mile #1: 10.32.68
Mile #2: 10.35.78
Mile #3: 10.27.38
Total: 31.35.84

Right on 10.5 min/mi pace (I always give a kick at the end, probably last 1/16th of a mi or so is what I'd guess), in heat. Good on me for doing it.

2nd run of the WEEK!

Look at me go; already did a second run! These past two run days I've gotten out of bed, done yoga, then pre-run stretching, followed by the run itself, then cool-down, post-run stretching, shower, and finally breakfast. I should probably change that order a bit, but it'd involve getting up earlier. I'll have to play with it. Running in the morning before it's too danged hot out is preferable. Took a break yesterday as I don't wanna overdo it.

Splits:

Mile #1: 9.33.93
Mile #2: 10.08.59
Mile #3: 10.31.76
Total: 30.14.28

Wow, I ran a sub 10 min/mi! I thought I felt like I took off quickly, especially as I definitely slowed down a bit during. That last mile was even with a kick at the end, heh.

Weighed myself this morning: 171 lbs. Eesh. What's worse was that I'm still over 20% body fat. Though the first time I checked I was somewhere around 22% a couple days ago, and today I broke that down to 21.8%. I'll take it. I remember looking and feeling a lot better around 16%, so that's my goal. This goal will be challenging, as I'll have to constantly be on point regarding what I put down my pie hole, heh. Definitely gonna cut back on the drinking, and looking forward to being able to eat healthier and more consistently with enough time & energy thanks to the break. Looking forward to being able to see my abs again eventually. Hopefully I'll be able to better maintain the routines come the next school year...
