Title: House of the Rising Sun Rating: T Summary: Azula is resigned to a life in captivity until a certain Water Tribesman falls through her roof and into her life. Once again she is thrown into the world of political intrigue, family rivalries, assasination attempts and a war game in which she is the wild card. Characters: Azula, Zuko, Sokka, Long Feng, Ensemble Warnings: The usual dirty words, tons of blood and gore Notes: first part of a multi-parter! I'm turning Azula into an anti-hero. (anti-villain?)That means yes, this story will be Azula sympathetic. But I can promise that Azula is going to be beaten up quite a lot over the course of this story. So if you really don't like Azula but happen to be a sadist, stick around! Bear with me through the first chapter, it gets better, I promise.
It seems to be turning into a dark!fic that's like a study of Azula's relationships with pretty much everyone in the show, so believe me when I say everyone will be mentioned. (even if they don't show up for a while)

Meanwhile, Mai meets some of the oddest people she's ever seen: water benders from a swamp in the Earth Kingdom. Two years of servitude in the Fire Nation royal palace have finally yielded Aang and Mai the opportunity for victory, but with their friends scattered across the world, will they all find their way back to help end the war? From tragedy, comes new friendships; from defeat, new hopes. Notes: First, this is a future AU sort of story, a 'what if Aang had lost?' story that begins right at a pivotal moment during the series finale. The story goes AU from that moment. Second, I really wanted to explore the Spirit World and its possibilities, so a significant portion of the story takes place there.
