Timmy Z has posted various posts regarding this weekend's wonderfully horrific MORSANDER EVENT, this post from the Scheduled Events BB sums it up:
DATES: OCT 1-3, 2004
PLACE: Prince William Forest Park, Camp # 4, Triangle, VA
FRI CHECK IN: 8:00 PM Friday
FRI OPENING CEREMONIES: 9:00 PM Friday
SUN CLOSING CEREMONIES: 9:00 AM Sunday
SUN PC PICKUP: 1:00 PM Sunday [or til we're done cleaning!]
EVENT FEE: $60.00 (Includes Tavern Food Fee)
XP REWARD: 3 XP
XP BONUS: 1 XP

OCTOBER COUPON: If you PC Morsander & then come to October's Murshank or EO Event you will get a -10$ Discount from your Home Chapter Event fee. This does not apply to NPC's.

ARRIVE AT: We will be directing you to park in the Ball Field on the left just before you get to Camp 4 (just after you pass Camp 1). You will stay there & proceed to tell Avalon jokes. Timmy impersonations are encouraged. We will hold opening ceremonies in the field. DO NOT ENTER CAMP 4 without Marshal permission.
GAME START: We will divide you into groups & start you differently then at a normal event. Groups will be separated by brief time periods so you may have to wait for a short time.
EARLY ARRIVALS: PC's please arrive at 8:00. You may come earlier but be aware you will be chilling in a field for a few hours. So bring some shtuff to entertain yourselves if you come early.
FIREWOOD: You may drop off dry firewood without having to log it in with you INC, ask at Check In for procedures... Camp 4 has little to no dry firewood there ;o)
MORE ON MORSANDER CHAPTER
- Morsander is a separate Chapter of Avalon LLC. It has a few extra rules & requirements. Yes Morsander is available to all chapters, so Yes WC & EO are invited. There may be chapter-specific info you need before attending so see your GM for instructions.
- You must be 16 yrs or older to participate at Morsander. Anyone 16 or 17 must get parental signatures on the Morsander Release Form that all participants must complete & sign to participate in Morsander's Event.
- The "No azzholes Policy" will be strictly enforced. Morsander will present tough situations where Character survival is at extreme risk. So play safe & follow the Code of Conduct. Treat your fellow Avalonians with respect & compassion. Be cool or be gone.
- NO NEOS: We will not have a NGP crew at Morsander. Thus NO NEOS are permitted.
-Punctual Arrival: It is essential that everyone show up on time. Late arrivals will be admitted, but at staff convenience. I will not be able to set aside a check in crew after hours as I normally do at Avalon Events. So you may have to wait if you arrive late. We will get you in play as soon as we possible can. Do not be afraid to show up late if life so dictates, but please be patient with us.
RECOMMENDATIONS & WARNINGS
Warning: We utilize intense Stage Effects. DO NOT EAT any props you find in Morsander- they may just be real. This could be anything from an insect to an intestine. Enter at your own risk.
Warning: Bring your own food to the event. Tavern Food is included in the event fee for Morsander. The food is OOC safe & will taste good... but it may very well appear gruesome or deliver certain INC consequences. Some meals are none too popular such as the Brain Soup, & others are quite the talk such as the Pumpkin Bowls. We do not guarantee your character will be able to actually eat tavern food so be certain to bring your own food just in case. You want pre-prepared meals only because you will not have access to the kitchen. Again- DO NOT EAT our props or stage effects!
Warning: You have to sleep INC. Morsander is a haunted City. Thus if you want a bed it is there for you. But you may have to sleep in some drecking ghost's bed. I recommend posting guards, taking shifts, do what you have to do if you want to live to see the morning.
Warning: There will be some nasty encounters. Some things are best left alone. Some things should not be messed with. You can be fairly sure that nearly everything you come across intends to kill you! Something wicked this way comes.
Warning: Before you walk into Morsander make sure you realize what you are getting your Character into. PC death percentages have been as high as 98% & as low as 30%. Last year after all was said & done; the death percentage was a rounded 41%. That basically means if you line up 10 of your buddies then 4 out of 10 died. Morsander has a high chance of Permanent Death due to the mass amount of PC deaths. The Morsander graveyard is big for a reason.
Heads Up: The extra risk at Morsander not without its rewards. Its increased XP can quickly boost you a level, & Morsander is unrivaled in the frequency of Magick Items & treasure. Also- rare Spells, Skills, & Talents can be picked up that are only available once per year in Morsander. Furthermore there is a good chance of earning Arcaine Knowledge. I will make a separate post to inform everyone of the specifics. In short these are Skills, Talents, Spells, & Items that only you will have. You may very well be the only Avalon Player who can cast that spell, use that martial art Skill, bid that Lore, or wield that Item. They cannot be mentored or copied. No one can rip it out of your book, learn it from your Character, or steal it from you.
