Hey yah Chickas,

Ready for another round? Semester will be here in 3 weeks...lets go in fighting.

Let's tie up a few loose ends right now:

Break time? I recommend Mon 12-1, because there are absolutely no
lectures in EECS at that time. Wed 12-1 is comparable with only EE123
and EE130 lectures at that time.

Officer descriptions? .....please leave a comment as to what you think the best
description is for your position.

Student Guide Description? We were offered a chance to rewrite our
description or take the student guide's revision. It must be in by 5
today, both the old version and the an impromptu one are up on
livejournal. I'll submit the impromptu one unless I hear
otherwise....revisions are highly encouraged.

Our mission is to recruit and retain undergraduate women in Computer
Science and Electrical Engineering by providing professional, academic, and
social services.

Our goal is to provide a supportive environment where women in EECS
can meet each other, professors in the department, and professionals in the
industry. We want to help women make the transition into life as an EECS
student at Berkeley.

Annual Events:
Fall: Welcome New EECS Women Luncheon/Picnic
Cal Performance Event (e.g. Ballet, Musical)
End of Semester Luncheon
Spring: Welcome Back to School Luncheon

AUWICSEE focuses on developing a community for undergraduate women in Computer Science and Electrical
Engineering in which they can find research opportunites, professional knowledge, and invigorating
social engagements.

While professors, graduate students, and counselors present us with enriched
knowledge we also have an internal tradition of passing wisdom continually from senior to freshman. Our
goal is to provide an encouraging environment for transitioning EECS women between high school,
undergraduate studies, and graduate pursuits.

Weekly Breaktime Teas, Movie Nights, Women in Research


email? Feel free to take intiatives with contacting other clubs and
replying to email. please cc me on outgoing email.

door code? If you want to get into the room before the 23rd, let me
know and I'll send you the code.....ps, I don't care if HKN has the
code as long as they don't steal the pink flamingo....and they keep it
among their officers, but that doesn't mean any of you are *supposed
to give it to them.

right, that sums up the short term stuff. I hope to hear back soon on
all. Soon I will also send out an email on long term stuff, t-shirts,
budget, research, events......much more fun ;)-

President:
Oversees the club, makes sure everyone is doing their duties. Makes an effort to build relations with outside organizations, other clubs, and the EECS/CS departments (ie. staff members).
-promote options for women in eecs. -encourage strong social relations among members and with facilty. -build membership unification.


Vice President:
In charge of assisting the President with her duties. Runs meetings and sends Breaktime reminders to appropriate officer each week. -oversee the organization of events for membership unification.

Secretary:
The Secretary will keep a careful journal of all AUWiCSEE activities to assist with the budget proposal. She takes notes at all officers' meetings and sends the minutes to all officers in a timely fashion. -provide assessment of events and recommendations for changes. -oversee organization of meetings for new research/project thingee.

Treasurer:
Keeps record of finances, and gives out reimbursements, attends EJC financial meetings, meets with faculty advisors for funding. -keeps records and files them in office. -oversees organization of one generic event.

Activities:
Responsible for planning events for AUWiCSEE. Handles the event budget and obtains all materials needed. Responsible for keeping club on track of all schedule. -creation of the proposal for an event schedule at the beginning of each semester. -fills in the gaps on material obtainment.</b>

Publicity:
She will make AUWiCSEE more visible to the public eye. This includes making flyers for events, and posting announcements in different publications. Also send event reminders through the AUWiCSEE mailing account. -ALL emails out from officers, out. -breaktime reminders to officers. -flyers for all events. -getting help from other officers to make annoucements in classrooms.

Historian: (split between potentially 3 of you :))
Take pictures at events to capture all our exciting events, and puts them together in the end in a scrapbook. Gathers quotes from members, officers, and faculty as well.
-sends all pics to webmaster. -oversees organization of at least one generic event.

EJC Rep:
Attend the Engineer's Joint Council meetings (which has representatives from all engineering clubs) to update them on what we're doing, and vice versa. And communicate the details to the President and/or appropriate officers to whom the information pertains.
-find ways to get funding from EJC and push in EJC for that funding and make sure club fullfills requirements for more funding. -oversee org. of at least one generic event.

Webmaster:
Responsible for frequently updating the semester's events on the AUWICSEE website, officer contacts, and keeping it current and presentable.
-updating links on other websites. -while in Berkeley, oversee one generic event. -this position can easily be used as a way to experiment with web design and should be used as such.

so what can we do to keep everyone on their toes?

here's an outline, please post what you guys want to help with, change, add, or call an animal rights activist on me for (wouldn't be the first time).

Monday: a sleep party that begins in everyone's beds and well stays there, last time to sleep in on a Monday

Tuesday: tea party, Bechtel lounge, not counting on the weather. yes good to goshness teaparty, Alice in Wonderland themed? if we go that far. but should include fluffy cake and quite possibly tea or alternatives? in any case good food.

Wednesday: mid week, that should be our movie night, I still push for British comedy night, but could comp.with a run off of American verse British. of course popcorn included. fancy soda place

Thursday: if we can t-shirt, paint it yourself, winner of best eecs girl tee gets some sort of prize, a kiss from the HKN president, or best member(he's a cutiee).

Friday: something with HKN I'll find out what those little devils are up to.

Sunday: we're girls, we have voices, and we can be vicious! NFL Pittsburgh against the Jets, Go Steelers(this weekend), but we should have a showing of the games to come!! that fancy soda lounge?
