autobotscoutriella: Elita One from the IDW comics pointing her cannon (Elita 2)
Alien Stars
AO3

Summary: When the evacuation from a dying Cybertron goes wrong, Elita One and her team face an uncertain future.

Fandom: Transformers Bayverse, Shatterpoint AU
Characters: Chromia/Elita One
Rating: G
Warnings: None
Notes: Originally written for [community profile] fandomweekly for the prompt "Future"; vaguely spoilery for Shatterpoint but doesn't reference anything specific from that fic.

The Hatchling

Summary: Cybertron's civil war touches everyone on the planet eventually. Even the hatchlings.

Fandom: Transformers Bayverse (AU)
Characters: Prowl, Hound, Riella (OC), unnamed OCs
Rating: M
Warnings: Child death, child harm, psychological trauma, minor character death - none of it is graphic, but this one's a rough ride.
Notes: This was originally a flashback that got cut out of Shatterpoint somewhere around chapter 5. It was good backstory, so I hung on to it and expanded it into a one-shot instead.

Data Logs from the First Apocalypse

Summary: Before the Golden Age of Cybertron, the original city of Trypticon is destroyed. In the evacuation, the city's Artificial Intelligence System is left behind.

Fandom: Transformers Bayverse (AU)
Characters: Original Cybertronian Characters (kind of)
Rating: T
Warnings: Features a natural disaster and the aftermath (not in graphic detail)
Notes: I wrote this purely on impulse, inspired by [personal profile] redthedragon's Non-Narrative Transformers Works collection. It features the AI Trip from Shatterpoint (which you do not have to read first) and the story is told entirely through his computer logs. (Basically, I had to write ERROR in all caps a lot.)

Shatterpoint

Summary: When a prisoner from Shockwave's lab ends up in Autobot Outpost A-217, Elita One's mission becomes that much more complicated.

Fandom: Transformers Bayverse (AU)
Characters: Elita One, Chromia, Firestar, Red Alert, First Aid, Prowl, Shockwave, Mirage, Riella (OC), Electron (OC)
Rating: M
Warnings: Graphic depictions of violence, major character death, unpleasant side effects of telepathy including amnesia and PTSD, dubious medical/scientific ethics
Notes: I came up with the initial concept for this fic in 2014. I have been working on it for seven and a half years. I have no idea how good it is, but it is DONE and I am so very, very pleased with it.
Updates are currently planned for Saturdays, but we'll see how my schedule goes.

I wrote a fic, and then couldn't figure out how to effectively put all of the warnings in AO3 tags without spoiling the entire thing (and also couldn't figure out if there was a shorthand tag for some things that I thought really needed a warning). This is my solution. Spoilers abound below! Stop after "Other" if you don't want to know exactly who dies.

Many spoilers past this point! )

Unspoken

Unspoken

Summary: In the wake of Megatron's disappearance, Soundwave considers his options. Semi-sequel to Vox Populi.

Fandom: Transformers (AU Bayverse)
Characters: Soundwave, brief appearances from Starscream, Blackout, and Barricade
Rating: T
Warnings: Brief language and implications of violence
Notes: Telepathic!Soundwave here, ties loosely into that giant WIP that I'm going to finish and post someday. Lots of fun to write casually for short fics, not quite so much fun to weave into a coherent plotline and universe.

This has been an exhaustingly productive week. I can't believe I used to write full chapters every day back in high school--I have NO IDEA how I ever got any schoolwork done and still managed to come up with that many words on a daily basis.

(...Actually, my algebra grades might have been better if I'd paid more attention to it. Also, most of that fic was basically "retelling canon with an OC or two" and therefore didn't take as much work. Still, it was a lot of typing.)

Under the cut, a bit of a scene that I've written and rewritten probably eight times. It still needs another rewrite or two, but it's a lot better than it used to be.

it's from Shatterpoint again )

After a couple of weeks of working on one-shots, AUs, and challenge fics, I've finally turned my attention back to Shatterpoint! On the upside, coming back to it with fresh eyes is good for the muse; on the downside, oh my god why did I decide not to use any contractions in one chapter that character DEFINITELY uses contractions.

Below the cut, a brief segment from chapter one, because it doesn't feel like I've accomplished anything unless I actually POST something.

this will probably be chapter one unless the prologue gets lengthened into an Actual Chapter )

So for a slight change of pace, I've been working on Shatterpoint again, and wrote out some of my possible telepathy-worldbuilding stuff in the form of a conversation between the medics. I don't know for sure yet if I'll be keeping it, since I think in the end it might just end up being an awkward "as-you-know", but I think the teacher/apprentice setting might let me get around that. If nothing else, it's a good thing to have written down somewhere for future reference--I have plenty of time to work it out, because it's set well into the story.

(For anyone familiar with Transformers, I've done some continuity-merging here, so this is Transformers Animated Red Alert, the female medic, rather than the usual male security officer. No real reason, I just liked her.)

brief mentions of suicide and medical experimentation under the cut )

I've been working on several different versions of a scene that puts two characters together late in the multi-arc story I have in progress--it's a challenge to get them both in the same scene, let alone teaming up, because it's very well-established they initially have a lot pushing them apart and not much to draw them together. This is a version I decided not to use, but I liked it, so I'm posting it anyway.

hey I wrote today that counts for something )

Dissident

Dissident

Summary: In Megatron's absence, Decepticon Command has too many devil's advocates. Blackout is the loudest.

Rating: PG/All Audiences
Characters: Blackout, Starscream, Soundwave, Megatron (if a flashback appearance counts)
Warnings: Threats of violence
Notes: More telepathic Soundwave, some Decepticon infighting, and my first time writing one of my favorite characters, Tyran Blackout! I'm very happy with how this one turned out--it was a bunch of new-to-me characters that I like a lot, and it was tons of fun to write. It's actually based on canon backgrounds for once, too, which is also new for me; according to the backstories and such for the 2007 movie, Blackout and Starscream spent pretty much the entire war clashing, so it was interesting to have that to go look at and actual canon incidents to incorporate.

The AU aspect is pretty much absent from this particular fic aside from Soundwave's telepathy, but it does tie into the overall alternate universe I'm working on.

Shields Up

Shields Up

Summary: A pinned-down Autobot unit resorts to desperate measures when all other options seem to be exhausted. Trailbreaker just really needs a drink.

Rating: Teen/PG-13
Characters: Trailbreaker, Mirage, Springer, Riella (an OC that you'll recognize if you followed me here from Tumblr, but an extremely different version of her)
Warnings: Some violence and background (unnamed) character death
Notes: Set in the same universe as "Vox Populi", so an alternate Bayverse-with-TFP-and-IDW elements. This is a slightly more planned tie-in to Shatterpoint, the Giant Five-Year-Project, and was actually handwritten a couple months ago; I typed it up over the last few weeks, made some edits, and finally got it to a point where it was ready to post.

Vox Populi

autobotscoutriella: Picture of a blue robot wrapped in Christmas lights (Default)
Vox Populi

Summary: Soundwave muses on his surroundings, or more specifically the people around him, from the perspective of a telepath.

Rating: G/All Audiences
Characters: Soundwave, Megatron, (briefly) Blackout, Barricade, a bunch of unnamed OCs that you might recognize if I've ever infodumped about this series to you
Warnings: None
Notes: Set in a sort of alternate Bayverse-with-TFP-elements (I'll let y'all know if I ever get around to deciding how much I'm pulling from each, but right now it's heavily Bayverse) in which outliers/point-one-percenters are much more of a thing than they ever really were in canon. It's part of the giant thing I've been working on for five years, Shatterpoint, though this is just a little tie-in one-shot and not the main storyline. This one wasn't planned like most of the longer stuff--actually, I wrote most of it on the plane to visit family for the holidays--but I liked it enough to finish it, and since the Soundwave-is-a-telepath fanon inspired the whole thing to start with, it seems appropriate that something from his perspective is the first part of it to be publicly posted.
autobotscoutriella: Picture of a blue robot wrapped in Christmas lights (Default)

This scene popped into my head yesterday on the plane and got written down on the back of an airline napkin somewhere over Chicago. I don't know if I'll ever get around to writing the Shatterpoint-universe rewrite of the 2007 movie, but I liked this exchange anyway, so I'm posting it here so that it gets posted somewhere at some point.

Riella actually would manage to pass pretty well as a perfectly normal human-made nonsentient motorcycle, because come on, who pays attention to motorcycle kickstands? Except mechanics.
