Love to imagine MB learning about niche dangerous hobbies that people on space stations and ships can’t really do but people on Preservation absolutely can and losing its shit.

Mensah you’re supposed to be safe what do you mean you and your family go wild camping in the middle of a dense temperate rain forest where there’s no feed signal.

Meanwhile Gurathin is like sat there trying to learn how to knit and it is like “at least you’re normal” and Gurathin is like “I got all my thrill seeking out doing copious amounts of proprietary stimulants and downers for years. Sky diving is probably safer than that.”
Which yeah.
Peri and murderbot have such extremely different experiences with humans. I think peri is well aware of that but MB kind of just has a hard time taking into account that not all bots have bad experiences with humans.
There is that scene in Artificial Condition where MB tells Peri that constructs and bots can’t be friends (because humans could order them to hurt each other). MB is actually so annoyed and angry at the suggestion that this could be possible at all. And then Peri thinks about that for 10 seconds (very long time for it according to MB). MB claims that Peri is trying and failing to come up with a way to argue against this.
But I believe Peri was using those ten seconds to research SecUnits under that aspect so that it can understand why MB would say something like that. I don’t think that Peri sees humans (particularly one’s own humans) as a threat at all and probably at that point is still learning how different things are for SecUnits.
Peri must find some context about SecUnits and the way they are treated in its databases though, because it doesn’t even try to explain that a) its crew would never and b) even if they would, Peri doesn’t have to obey them at all (and MB also doesn’t have to obey any humans anymore). It just says that no humans are there at the moment.
i love murderbot's constant habit of being like. what they just said was mean. not that it hurt my feelings because i don't have feelings i'm not a stupid human. but it was mean. they're mean and i hate them. but not because they're mean. just because they're stupid. but don't be mistaken. what they said was mean.
I love that there's a story that Murderbot is simultaneously telling and retelling and also pretending isn't important at all about how it 100% got run over by a haulerbot once. Might not even officially remember it, but knows it happened. Probably not that big a deal. Definitely doesn't have any trauma about that, that'd be silly. Fuck those things though. Runnin into shit all the time. Can't trust 'em.
