Comparison of VST virtual stompbox software?
Amplitube 3.8 kicks ass now)) there's a good bunch of amps, pedals, cabs and more. I put my tube guitar preamp before the line in, and then process the sound with amplitube. Sounds just great!

I'd recommend to do the following. Make a mono mixdown of snare and kick tracks, compress the mixdown, cut trebles and mids, then compress it once again and add this signal to the source drum track…

I think part of your query has to do with what you want to do with the PC audio. If you're really using the PC for audio production, then hooking it up to a mixer may have some real application. But…
