Was great to meet so many HR and L&D leaders across ANZ from at HR & LD Tech Fest Sydney over the past 2 days. The Dayforce breakfast session with Katrina Castaneda Casteneda nailed a hard truth... most HR tech stacks weren’t built with a plan, they just grew. The result? Zendesk’s acquisition of Local Measure has now been finalised, with the entire Australian team joining under the Zendesk for Contact Centre banner. Adrian McDermott told ARN “[We will] continue to work together on an innovative roadmap and build the most comprehensive and innovative voice solutions in market,” he said. It was a pleasure to talk to Ticker in Melbourne today about the Australian results of this year's Staffbase Employee Communications Impact Study and how better communications and the use of AI could help address the loneliness epidemic being felt in many workplaces in Australia and beyond. Whilst it's easy to dismiss disconnection at work, there's a real economic impact: employees who feel lonely are 23% more likely to be looking for a new job and twice as likely to become less productive. When almost half of Australia workers say they feel lonely at work, the associated costs soon mount up. #employeeexperience #AI #employeecomms #internalcomms

Earlier today I joined the first Retail Women in Tech Australia session. Two things really stood out to me: 1. Visibility isn’t about profile — it’s about pathway creation. When senior women step forward, it changes what “normal” looks like for those coming up behind. 2. As retail teams accelerate into AI, representation in the rooms shaping use cases and guardrails matters more than ever. Such a great reflection Rachel Debeck. The best product insights rarely come from dashboards or strategy offsites. They are what hapens long after "product market fit" is apparently achieved. They come from being close enough to your customers to hear the unfiltered truth.
