I’ll be sad to say goodbye to a wonderful company and fantastic colleagues, but glad to have made many close friendships and memories that will last a lifetime. I’ll also miss the SQL Server community, and want to shout out everyone who made me feel so welcome - it’s been a pleasure to have made incredible relationships with so many of you all over the around the world. Now is the perfect time for me to take a career break and spend quality time with Ben Tozer and be truly present for our son in his early years. I can’t wait to wrap my time up by hosting Redgate Summit NYC and PASS Data Community Summit East next week in the US, and PASS Summit Europe next month in Frankfurt. Come join me and raise a glass to my time as a Redgater!

Melissa Harrison liked thisMelissa Harrison liked thisI’ve always believed that careers aren’t defined by titles or timelines, but by the problems you choose to work on and the people you choose to work with. After nearly a decade, I’ve decided to step away from CrowdStrike. This wasn’t a quick decision. When you spend close to 10 years building something, from being the first employee in a country to helping shape how AI is embedded into a global security platform, you don’t just “move on.” You carry a part of that journey with you. When I joined, the goal was simple: build something meaningful in Romania. Over time, that turned into building one of the most important engineering hubs outside the US, growing a team of hundreds of exceptional people, and helping position CrowdStrike Romania as one of the top IT organizations in the country. That didn’t happen by accident. It happened because of relentless focus, high standards, and a culture that genuinely cares about doing things right. On the product side, the last years have been particularly defining. We moved from “AI as a feature” to “AI as a foundation.” From assisting humans to augmenting, and in some cases autonomously handling, entire workflows. Being part of the journey that led to systems like Charlotte AI, and seeing them deliver real world impact at scale, has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my career. If there’s one thing I’m certain about, it’s this: CrowdStrike is the best positioned security company for the age of AI. Not just because of technology, but because of how deeply AI is integrated into its DNA across products, workflows, and culture. A special thank you to George Kurtz for the trust from the very beginning. Building something meaningful at this scale starts with belief, and that belief mattered more than anything else. And to Karan Gupta, thank you for the mentorship and constant support. Your guidance shaped not just decisions, but the way I think about leadership and building teams. For now, I’m pressing pause. Taking time to be fully present with my family, no roadmap, no deadlines. And after that? I’ve been thinking a lot about what comes next. There’s a growing gap between what AI can do and what it’s allowed to do in the real world. Bridging that gap safely and at scale is a problem worth solving. Stay tuned. PS: I added a photo of my IPO T-shirt, signed by many of the team in Romania and members of the executive team. A small artifact from a very meaningful chapter.

I remain deeply passionate about the mission we served, but as I look at this photo of my team, I’m struck by something even deeper. Seeing all these faces in one place puts the true responsibility of leadership into perspective. Beyond the metrics and the protection we provided, my greatest honor was the role I played in supporting the growth and careers of the people in this picture. And many more people globally and newer to the team that aren't pictured. This group represented over 20 direct reports, and I take immense pride in the leaders and true team players that support one another they've become. We built an amazing team culture together and I'm certain they'll all carry that forward. OTOF! I am looking forward to bringing that same commitment to people and cybersecurity to my next chapter. Melissa Harrison liked thisIt’s alive 👾! Built my AI clone with OpenClaw Finally carved out a few hours last night to build for myself, surrounded by an incredible group of AI engineers here in SF. Huge shoutout to AI Tinkerers SF for hosting a killer unhackathon. It’s inspiring to see what some of the best builders are starting to do with the OpenClaw pattern. Feels like the very beginning of a new world. Beyond the hype, OpenClaw points toward a shared runtime for AI agents to run locally, similar to what Docker did for cloud. That’s where things get really interesting. Imagine cloning an AI agent from somewhere and spinning it up like any other app on your own hardware. Pro tip: You don’t need a Mac mini or special hardware. I spun up a Linux VM on IBM, installed there, gave it OpenAI GPT-5, a browser, and wired it to a Discord bot. #sfsaturdaynights #hacktheplanet #codelife #aitinkerersSF

On Wednesday, I had the privilege of moderating a powerful panel on RevOps and AI in NYC for People.ai. The discussion was robust, but a few key themes emerged that every RevOps leader and GTM professional needs to grapple with right now: 1. Stop Planning, Start Experimenting: We are still firmly in the experimentation phase. Don't wait for the perfect platform; start testing AI on every single task you perform. Your learning curve is your competitive edge. 2. The Rise of the GTM Engineer/Data Scientist: The technical depth required for GTM is skyrocketing. We're seeing the emergence of a specialized role: an engineer proficient in the GTM tech stack and expert at accessing the right data to fuel AI models. The New Skill: AI Fluency: As coined by Trafford Judd, this isn't just about using a tool; it's about fostering a culture where teams intuitively know how and when to apply AI to solve business problems. This is the skillset of the future. That is why I am posting on Sunday (I just don’t want too many people see this. 🤣) Last Friday was an exceptional sunny autumn day. (Yes, I know autumn is a very strange concept for Singaporeans.) In usual years, a typical autumn day would be raining and strong wind, and falling leaves and grey sky with no sun. Originally, I planned to do my cold outreach in the afternoon. But I just couldn’t made myself do it in this good weather. 😅😅 Instead, I went for a walk around our village. I enjoyed the warm sun falling on my skin. It just made me so happy. So as everybody else on the street. That is why I am making up my cold outreach on Sunday. I guess this is the perk of running my own business. 😜 #brand30
