Keith harring and his sarcophagus, two dollar falafels and record shopping in the night street, black light dolphins,pet troubles with the brooklyn police,walked into a commercial filming by mistake,PAINTING,political art discussions over too much whiskey,so many conversations with strangers,long walks through central park on route to the MET, walking down 5th avenue, watching ice skaters at Rockefeller center, MIRANDA (from sex in the city) walking past me on the street, eating miso soup at radio hall, and walking for over 12 hours any given day, accidentally bumped into the diner from seinfield and the kitchen for the soup nazi near Columbia University, the biggest church on the east coast, took the subway to Coney Island and rockaway beach filled with empty ferris wheels and deserted roller coasters, Participated in a midnight LIVE performance of Rocky Horror Picture Show at a chelsea theater....where i was forced (not too hard) to dance for people and get humped by an adorable naked cast member, walked the open markets in Union Square and bought african gourd drums decorated with shells (after haggling down the price for fun),visited the aliens of the deep, re dyed my red hairs, caught the chinatown express bus filled with screaming asian women and the faint smell of piss to chinatown DC, took my father to see BillY Joel in concert....fucking fantastic! (and not just because he screamed my name during a song;) wine and fromage with my parents, then the beginning of my next big trip...
I left for a week long photo adventure throughout New England.
shooting over zealous religious icon collectors in Connecticut to the historic SALEM , Massachusetts where i had an hour long discussion about energy, aliens and the thought of life on on other planets with a beautiful witch and her dog pumpkin, eating in little diners along the way, saw swans in the woods, the worlds largest Dairy store (as seen on ripleys believe it or not)went 1500 ft up a mountain, saw dinosaur tracks preserved in a out of the way park, 40 ft concrete dinosaurs in a strangers backyard where i had to sneak onto their property to take photos. A HUGE castle,back yards filled with bathtubs and mary figures, turkey vultures eating roadkill, pet cemeteries, painted frog rocks, egg farms, historic pillow dance festival, Worcester City, mario pipes, the man who paints those poles yellow, Lynn's woods (very haunted), very old cemetary where i got ORBS in my photos!!!, cops kicking a dead guy in the street, Saugus the old indian town and iron works building, giant metal termites and haunted carousel from the 1800s, Providence Rhode Island, devils foot rd, thames river and the old factories, locked eyes with a baby doe, Willimantic town filled with 100ft. frogs, walked the one and only historic FOOT bridge, stole a 10 pound chunk of glass from the Sanctuary of Love, bought fossils, rocks and sea glass from a very sweet old woman in the middle of nowhere, attempted to tress pass into Dudley town (one of ten of the most haunted places in the world) and a bagel breakfast with the maffia.
i came back with hundreds of photos, and will be publishing them as a book.
my goal has always been to have a book published before 26.
i will most likely be working as a photographer for a magazine up here in NYC.
and selling my new paintings through galleries.
but we will see....
perhaps its the left over whiskey in my stomach right now from the piano bar last night.
