Getting older is so cool. I love aging. I plan on doing a lot of it. I don't fetishize my youth.
I love my grey hairs. I love my wrinkles. I love that the proof that I am alive and changing is etched into my very skin. Can't wait to get older.
Can't wait to grow into new iterations of myself. They lied to you, kids. Getting older is awesome.

The next heartbreaking attack on public lands is the proposed end to the "roadless rule" which protects wild areas across the US from road building and resource extraction.
The administration is claiming that this is an effort to prevent wildfires, but roads actually increase ignition rates. The reality is that this is just the next attempt at opening the land up for logging, mining and drilling (you may recall this other post about that).

The thing is that some folks really do believe in The Divine Hierarchy, and within that context equality is actually an Injustice
Some folks will always be deaf to entreaties for Equality because they don’t really think we’re all Human. Not the same way they are. It’s not always a race thing, either. Lots of Meritocrats who think simply being a loser along a particular axis is enough to bump you down. Washed out of college. Gap in employment. Bout with alcohol. Loser. Fit only for Service Work. You feel me?
The ugly thing underneath Racism and Classism and a half dozen other -isms is The Hierarchy. Sorting folks into your Superiors and Inferiors. You’re gonna RealPolitik a lot better once you understand this underlying principle.
