Just saw a post abt someone talking ppl complaining lwj is being being petty towards jc and it kinda reminds me of something I think about often
We know Wei Wuxian moved on form the grievances of his past life (he’s being pretty healthy abt it) but do you ever think he looks at lsz and is overtaken by an old sense of anger again? Even for the briefest of moment? He sees a child who’s lost practically everything his parents, his cousins, his grandmother who loved him enough to still recognize him beyond the veil of death, his name over something he had no control over!
Oh and the horror! The horror that if lwj was even just a moment too late lsz wouldn’t have made it at all because his survival was slim to none! No one cared about a Wen, elderly or a child, no one was gonna go back into the burial mounds, and certainly no one was going to take in a Wen and raise him when the common practice at the time was to punish an entire family for a single person’s crime.
Do you think, once in an awhile, Wei Wuxian becomes angry once more and can really only sit with it because what else can be done? They’re all dead now anyways.
Somewhere in the Cloud Recess, I like to think Wei Wuxian keeps his hand on Sizhui’s shoulder for just a moment longer than he does anyone else.
