OK, this is more for the graduates and other people than the staff, because most of the staff already know this.

The Scales has a new system. The reporters meet with the editors once a week and update on progress. The editors then meet with Dr. Bloom, and talk to him about progress and articles and all that jazz. The editors/reporters meetings will be every week at 7 on Sundays.

EVERY WEEK.

Every reporter must do two articles per issue, one long, and one short. The long article is a traditional Scales article on something going on with the school, and the short article is an entertainment, opinion, or just general whatever article. All articles are to be approved by the editors, then Dr. Bloom, then on to Dr. Ellis(I believe.). Our current goals are to get out two issues this term (publishing the first at the end of September) and then 3 issues in Winter and Spring term. The paper will obviously be much longer, if every reporter does all the work s/he is supposed to do to recieve credit in the DR.

Thank you for your time, have a nice day.

Hello.

The Scales is having a meeting Tuesday at 1:30 on 2nd floor humanities. Also, there are signs around campus, those are for recruiting. Basically, with only 4 people on staff for next year, we obviously need more if we want to continue printing, so, we're getting more people. This is part of the reason for the meeting. The other reason is because we do need to get another issue out before the end of the year. So, come to the meeting, we'll hopefully have new people. Keep your fingers crossed, and be there. Tomorrow, 1:30

I wanted to tell all of you who worked on the scales last year, and this year, great job. Joel sent me issues 3 and 4, I think the quality of the articles have considerabley improved.
