package folder:

package folder

Results of snap list all:

snap list all

I've tried to install onlyoffice-desktopeditors using snapstore, but it repeatedly stops somewhere near the end of the installation process without any error. I checked the snap folder and it's right there though it's not listed after typing snap list all command. I've tried snap remove package-name but it didn't work.

The question is can I just manually remove onlyoffice-destopeditors from the snap folder and install a deb package from the onlyoffice website and be sure that it will work or do I have to figure out another way to get rid of this partially installed package?

  • If it never installed, regardless of having created the folder, you can install any other way you want. Commented Nov 12 at 10:13
  • You should try the command to install the snap instead of the store, if you want to try again, so you have an error message. Commented Nov 12 at 10:22
  • ~/snap is not the installation path of snaps, this is /var/lib/snapd/snaps. In the home directory only user-related information is stored. If a snap is removed or not installed but has a folder in /home, it can be safely deleted. Commented Nov 12 at 10:32

You can install a deb package alongside a snap package and even though they are both the same application they will both work. I have faced a situation where I became so frustrated with a problem in my GIMP deb package then I gave up and installed the GIMP snap version too just to keep going.

You can manually remove onlyoffice-destopeditors from the snap folder and install a deb package from the onlyoffice website and it will work. If you just want to install a deb package without getting rid of the partially installed onlyoffice-destopeditors snap package it will also work.
