POLL

Hey all, quick 3 part question for you:

1. Would you listen to horror audio plays, similiar to Arch Obler's "Lights Out Everyone" or "Tales from the Crypt," available on the internet or through iTunes?

2. If you would, what length would you want each episode to be?

3. And finally, would you want them to be all original stories or to include adaption of the old masters like Poe and Lovecraft?

shameless

Dear Mr. Lovecraft,

Do you draw distinction between an existing work inspiring artists, planting images, and being shamelessly copied? to me, shameless copying implies a direct lifting. plagerism v. re-interpretation.

Autumn midnight. You come up to a window and peer in night mist. The fog hides outlines of black trees. You recollect, that the autumn has carried away last traces of life from empty garden yesterday. With this thoughts you feel freeze. The impulse of an ice wind flings open the window and the candle light dies out. You you scream out and blindly crawl to a table. In darkness the pieces of furniture gain unfamiliar shapes, it seems, they come in movement. Suddenly you understand, that almost physically you feel alien malicious will, outgoing from them. With fear You notice, that something, hidden in a corner, begins to wake up. You knew about its existence for a long time. You suggested it by indirect signs, by unknown rustles in the night. And now it, woken by the autumn cold night and sticky touch of darkness, was pulled to you. And you already feel that the slippery tentacles of anonymous evil, producing oozy slime of horror, penetrates your skin, forcing heart to fade in hopeless melancholy. Consciousness can not persist the primal madness any more, and you weak willingly ask the Hell Powers for quick death. But the Depth keeps silent.

Attention South Florida Atheists, Agnostics, Freethinkers, and Humanists

Our current members and I of the Broward Atheists Meetup (www.browardatheists.com and in www.meetup.com) welcome all interested in atheism, theism, freethought, agnosticism, humanism, transhumanism, state and church seperation (otherwise known as seperation of sturch), and related topics to our Tuesday meetings after 6:30pm. The www.browardatheists.com website has details on our venue, it is currently a pub, but will change when more members are acquired. We're already bulging at the seams with an average attendance of about twelve. No matter your age, beliefs, or preferences, we'd like to hear your opinion. Even the sternest Christians may come and present their thoughts, because if you really believe we're going to hell, we sure don't want to be wrong about the subject, haha, but most members are pretty confident about their atheism and agnosticism. I mention the invitation only to be open-minded. Anyways, we usually discuss religion, politics, philosophy, etc. but do not feel obligated to have to order anything despite it being a pub. There is no membership fee either, it is an informal event so far seeing how we have too few to be more organized, but we'd like to be! And we'd like to have enough people to start some activism and be as productive as possible.

Aside from the weekly Tuesday meetings, there are fun events such as campfires and beach barbeques scheduled. We sure would like to cooperate with other groups and more members to voice the rights and freedoms we and others deserve regardless of our beliefs and with your ideas and help, this can be made possible. The current goal is to eliminate the negative stigma attached to our labels by altruism and stoicism such as scholarships and good deeds. E-mail me with any questions or better yet, any one else you can get in contact with from the website to get a clearer understanding of who and what we are. We turn no one down and encourage debate, skepticism, and reason. The meetings are definitely worthwhile and interesting or else I wouldn't waste the little free time I have as a college student to invite any one else to come join the experience. If you are in the area and find the time inconvenient with your busy schedule, no hard feelings will be had, but at least sign the guestbook so we can know you support us and wish you could come. :-)

The Missing

I am writing a horror novel that revolves around the Mythos and am trying to research for accuracy. I want to include the name of some unspeakable Tome but am unsure what to use and I don't want anything that is commonly used in the Mythos. The Tome I wish to write of connects the Mythos to certain passages in Revelations, so that gateways to Ad Infernum are accidently opened by someone fooling around with a book of which the human race was never meant to gain access to. This particular book originates from the actual libraries of Purgatory and will detail from Hell's perspective the rise of the Isle of R'Lyeh and the opening of the nine gates.
Any suggestions on what the hell to call this volume? I would prefer something that is difficult to pronounce in common English.
