Hee tae myung hee Spoil alert!

It was heartbreaking to watch Myung Hee died alone in the cold forrest, while she always be a kind and helpfull person. I think the writer was too cruel to make this plot twist.

Ish A heartbreaker. Whether the true story or this romanticized version of the harsh reality of the Gwangju massacre in May 1980. I was 26 and enjoying my student life, which was coming to an end in France, when on the other side of the world, young students were sacrificing their lives for freedom. May their memory be blessed. (I couldn't watch the last episode, it was beyond me).

Wu This is one of the best Korean dramas I have ever watched. The love story is both poignant and charming. Go Min-si looks extremely beautiful, who perfectly portrayed Kim Myung-hee. Other actors also delivered strong performances. This drama leaves a lasting impression on my mind.

Now, I would like to discuss the ending, which strikes audiences the most. The ending of this drama is made heartbreaking with reasons from the perspective of the screenwriter, I think. First, as the storyline evolves alongside the Gwangju Democratization Movement, the brutal reality of this movement forms the backdrop of this drama. It is highly possible that love stories like that of Hwang Hee-tae and Kim Myung-hee unfolded during May 1980, which may force the screenwriter to write a heartbreaking ending in memory of real tragedies. Second, the tragic ending and Hwang Hee-tae’s survival in 2021 serve as a tribute to those who lost love ones in Gwangju during May 1980, yet continue to live bravely until present day, inspiring people to summon courage to move forward.

However, as audiences, it might be too challenging to accept such a heartbreaking ending, myself included. I could counter-argue that, like Hwang Hee-tae and Kim Myung-hee, there may also be couples who fortunately survived in Gwangju during May 1980 and have lived happily with their children until present day. In this light, if accepting the ending proves difficult, let us envision our own desired endings.

Kosyura For those who are about to watch this drama, Don't or you will face annoyance and disturbance from so many plotholes. I watched this bc of Go Min Si and Keum Sae Rok, but honestly, the way they expressed the story which based on real event is horrible. People are so ridiculously dumb and they just dont learn any lesson. Goddamn stubborn youngsters think they can change something by sacrificing themselves and those around them.. The main couple keep spliting and that's why one of them have to die in the end!! I think the ending is sad but reasonable. It would be unrealistic if they keep testing god favors on them and finally have happiness. No! God does not tolerance stupidity. The little boy killed his dad and his sister The Same Way!! Well the father die trying to protect the child, that's totally fine, but why, WHY did he have the idea to run back home at that time after he already know the soldiers are killing spree outside? And the sister too? She keeps taking dangerous actions like she has 2 lives. Gosh!! I can never watch this again. In fact I already dropped the drama at episode 7 bc it was so draggy and boring. It was a bad decision to come back and finish it. I swear I was just wanted to see more Go Min Si and Sae Rok, those girls are so charming and they took my heart.. When the plot just killed me, really...

Nel I came from watching The Glory and absolutely loving lee do hyun’s acting in it, to Youth of May not thinking anything of it really. I just wanted to go on a lee do hyun binge lolll i had absolutely no idea what i was getting myself into. It started off so cute and romantic at first and then halfway through it just became tragedy after tragedy which left me constantly sobbing.

It honestly wasn’t a pleasant watch from like ep 7 onwards… i just had this constant pit of anxiousness in my stomach, hoping for things to get better but it never did. I was so traumatised by 25 21 and i just had that gut feeling that this kdrama would also traumatise me :’)

It wasn’t a bad kdrama, but i defs wouldn’t watch it again bc that would be too painful. This kdrama is so tragic and idk if i will ever recover. Anyways, onto watching the next kdrama with lee do hyun bc i can’t get enough of his acting- he’s so talented and the characters he plays are so interesting <3333

Aleen It was a good drama but the end was really unexpected. I surely will not get over Youth Of May :((

Analyn Yap It's really a great story I can feel the reality of the story...I love watching it.. congratulations to both of the couple..

spanner No dull moments, great story, great actors. Recommended if you want to burst your tears. Hope to see more of the female lead. Proceed with caution if you want to watch ?

spanner I know that this drama will be sad. I still watched it out of curiousity. No dull moments, great story, great actors. Recommended if you want to burst your tears. Hope to see more of the female lead. Proceed with caution if you want to watch ?

yosei I've been going on a Lee Do Hyun drama binge ever since I watched The Glory (amazing drama btw!! one of my top 5), so of course I had to watch this as well. I thought the premise was interesting too as I never heard of the Gwangju incident until I watched this. I only did some surface level research of it, so I'm not sure exactly how accurate this drama was. It was horrific to see it all play out on screen, however.

This drama is a romance drama for sure, but keep in mind it's a melodrama and when/where it takes place. There is no happy ending. This drama was just tragedy after tragedy, but I kinda knew what I was signing up for prior to watching. The whole drama was a mix of frustration and sadness. Like other comments, there was no justice for his father besides a divorce which I disliked and a lot of character writing frustrated me to no end. I overall liked the drama though, if not mainly for Lee Do Hyun and for giving me a chance to learn more about this incident, but this is definitely not a casual watch. Not a favorite drama of mine but one I think was worth watching

Hwang Hee Tae best ML One of the best K-dramas.

SPOILER Alert Incoming ? ‼️

Even though I usually avoid SEs, this one and 2521 hit different.

Juliette Chin OMG good serie, WOW L S-Y

Park Min It seems the drama excuses itself way too much and too often under the umbrella of "real life events" which denotes for a lazy writing. Moreover, the antagonist in the drama is portrayed as an omnipotent being who possesses an uncanny awareness, insight, and control over everything and everyone. Practically a god! It undermines the believability of the story and weakens the conflict by eliminating any sense of balance or potential for meaningful character growth and development. This kind of characterization is only passable for makjang shenanigans, mindless action or goofy adventure flicks. Instead of crafting a compelling tragedy, it turned into an extensive series of self-inflicted misery, unreasonable maneuvers and forceful entanglements. This is not how to make a tragedy!

The brothers playing the big turning point for the climax were only brought to attention in the last 2-3 episodes. How do you expect the viewers to care? While some of the support characters may receive attention initially (or eventually like the brothers) but they ended up being underdeveloped and lacking depth. Their presence feels inconsequential and fails to contribute meaningfully to the overall story. Either give them a proper investment or don't waste unnecessary scenes. The 12 episodes run already feels too long! Despite dealing with potentially emotional and poignant themes, the drama fails to delve deeply into the emotional lives of its characters. Instead, we got a superficial, quick and dry cuts that were barely sufficient to progress the story.

Lin I was annoyed by Park Se-Hyun's acting in this drama.. She wanted to look cute but it just turned out to be really annoying...

mine Başak sister who recommend me this drama.. thank you.. this drama teared my heart in pieces..

Oyuhai This movie breaks my heart ?

Youth of March Depicting the sorrows and hardship that played out during the Gwangju Uprising, this drama really did its job well. If you think about it, it hasn't even been that long ago when this happened, our characters are just around middle-late adulthood when we went to timeskip. This drama is heartbreaking for many reasons and not just because of our main characters' tragic story.

GMS and LDH's chemistry is really off the charts, even when they acted in Sweet Home, it can't be denied. Whenever they have sweet moments, no matter how few, my heart melted. And their characters are just a match made in heaven: a woman who lived for others and a man who lived for himself—until they met each other. Then suddenly the woman found that she could think of her happiness for once, and the man realized he's not just living for himself anymore. Although saying that, I do think they're both too hurt and immature for each other and a few times, I found myself thinking that Soo Chan and Soo Ryeon could be considered for an ending with our main leads. But our main leads are tied by fate, and like magnets, they bump into each other again and again (like almost literally).

The other actors and the characters they played are really excellent too. The development especially with the Hwang Family is something I was glad to see + Soo Ryeon with her unbending will to protest and make a move, and the kindness of her family that shined through during the crisis is so remarkable. It's impressive that a 12-episode drama could portray such a whole picture that gave us the start, middle, and ending in a well-paced story.

CritiQueen I can't believe I'm leaving a comment with tears running down my cheeks right now. They just can't stop falling. I've read enough spoilers, but still painful for me

Jilli I would call this a semi-masterpiece instead of a full blown one. Why? Because we don't see the main villains of the piece get their comeuppance. The villainous father deserved to be executed for his crimes against humanity but ... nothing. We don't see what happens to him, except possibly a divorce, big whoop; he didn't really care about his family at all. They should have added extra episodes and had a dynamic trial scene showing him being led away to the gallows. A sort of Nuremberg trial. But ... no closure. Grrr. The man was a sadistic monster. I wanted to see him get what was coming to him!

Charlie Kim I give this series a go by bingewatching it this weekend. I‘ve never been this exhausted watching a K-Drama before, this is really on another level. I’m mentally drained, how can a plot went from sad to even sad. It’s just a tragedy after tragedy. Myeong-Hee just wanted to be happy that’s all. She tried to do things the way she wanted for the first time in her life but in the end she sacrificed herself again for people and family around her, that’s just terribly sad. I don’t know anymore. Definitely my top 5 most sad drama ever. ((I don’t know if the historical part is portrayed correctly in this drama or not since I’m not a South Korean, I just rated it from the plotline and character))

Joy I can't help but love this masterpiece. YoM is a must watch. It was so well-written. The way they told Hee Tae and Myung Hee's story was great. They showed us a glimpse of what happened during the Gwangju Uprising without distorting history and that itself is respectable.

Lee Do Hyun and Go Min Si's acting was impeccable. I couldn't imagine anyone as Hee Tae and Myung Hee but these two. It's sad that I saw a few comments about skipping on this drama just because LDH and GMS played as sibling on Sweet Home. But istg you're missing out on a lot if you skip on this one. Forget their roles in SH and give them as lovers a chance. Their chemistry is so good! Also, all the actors/actresses in this drama were so good too! The OSTs makes you feel the moment, the cinematography is so beautiful.

/SPOILER/ Although the ending was sad, it was executed perfectly. Just because a drama has sad ending doesn't mean it's a bad drama. Sad endings happen in real life too. We can't always have happy endings, that's so unrealistic. So I'm satisfied with the ending. It hurt a lot, but it still was so beautiful.

Overall, this ended up being one of my fave kdramas of all time. Definitely a 100/10. I love it so much.

KST I really love to the sad mode of this drama. Though this drama has a tragic end this drama is really touchable and talking to our hearts and make us mesmerizing about the eternal love.

Ann I enjoyed watching this drama. Even if the ending is ery sad, but i love how they love each other and hui tae's love for myunv hee. ???

Magdalena Brilliant!! This drama is a Masterpiece!! A beautiful bittersweet love story with the perfect chemistry amidst this horrific happening. The whole cast was just absolutely perfect, the acting very realistic. The leads Lee Do Hyun and Go Min Si nailed it, what a powerful acting with the perfect chemistry. Both gorgeously looks and great actors. It was definitely a sad chapter in Korean history and was well portrayed in this drama. Difficult to understand that a situation like that even could happen still in the 80’s. Anyway, a beautiful but hard drama and i wished the ending could have been different. It left me heartbroken. I think this drama will still stay under my skin for quite some time. I recommend to watch it, just know that it is not a light drama.

A.M I just finished binge watching this drama. It’s extremely beautiful. The chemistry between the main leads was incredible. I cried on multiple occasions but I don’t regret watching it. I am glad I was able to watch such an amazing drama. Loved everything.

Julie This drama is so brilliantly directed that I felt I was living through the 1980 student protests. He made the most of the talents of Lee Do Hyun, who played his part perfectly, Go Min Si, the villain Oh Man Sook plus many many others. The casting was perfect. The two fathers who I have seen in many dramas, all credible. The love story was realistic and the heartbreak of her death made it more poignant and enabled the writer to show the people who loved her 41 years on. I’ve looked up the history and think this drama is the best portrayal of those desperate times. Very well done and well chosen Netflix.

Jenny This series is about a love affair between a doctor and a nurse who find themselves caught up in events completely out of their control. It is so beautifully presented that one can’t help but shed tear after tear as one poignant scene follows another. It is set against the backdrop of a civilian uprising in South Korea in May, 1980, when students and workers demanded that the government of South Korea becomes democratic. The story is somewhat reminiscent of Dr Schivago, the acting is first class and the chemistry between the lovers is palpable. Oh Man-Sok brilliantly plays the role of the villain, exercising the powers of the military dictatorship in a brutal, sadistic fashion. Together with his role in “Crash landing on you”, his performance here stamps him as the “go-to man” when an actor is required to play the role of an evil villain. After reading up on the history surrounding the episode, the saddest aspect, in my view, is that the politicians responsible escaped proper punishment and never showed remorse for their actions. Given its troubled history, it is truly amazing that South Korea has grown into a mature, robust democracy and become one of the economic powerhouses of South-East Asia.

Om Suka Drakor I cried a lot during the ending, i can't stand what they did that at the ending. Probably the only drama that made me cry a lot. Sad but really emotional ending and i enjoy it.

Eun yu I love this drama it makes me feel so beautiful even it's a sad drama. This is truly gem. Love it hee tae and myeong hee love your pair.love love drama.. hope lee do-hyun and go min-si have another drama their chemistry is so beautiful..

han jee ae I burst into tears when watching this drama, especially during the last episode. They have a true partner, but unfortunately they have to separate :((

titou it's been a year already and i still haven't moved on from youth of may

Kit Sidney Yo, Go Min Si's name in the movie The Witch is also Myung hee.

ukrainerussiawarislol the female lead is male leads sis in sweet home ?

Hiba This drama is a masterpiece

aster go. binge. watch. it!!! found this drama about two weeks ago and i've rewatched it for 3 times ? it's a tragic love story, but it was beautifully written to the point that i would tolerate the pain just to witness it all over again. lee dohyun's acting is undoubtedly impeccable... he's indeed going to make it big in the industry..

AJ @vil: Agree. I think this drama strikes a chord not only with Korean audience, but also with international viewers from other countries with authoritarian past -- me included.

The finale, in my opinion, is poignant and realistic. Among many of its moving scenes, one particularly disturbs me: when they show a banner put up by certain elements in the society whose content practically goes as far as accusing the Uprising as stirred by foreign elements.

It got me thinking; if even in a country like Korea (which I think have come to terms amicably with its authoritarian past and become a true democratic state), there are still a group of people who bad-mouth democratic movement such as Kwangju, then what hope do we got in other countries that have not experienced such transformation (if any at all)?

vil Highly recommended! Such a beautiful, tragic, heart-breaking story. The fact that there's a lot of people who experienced the same thing because of the Uprising as the main charaters has to gone trough just make it even more painful and touching, even up to this day the truth of the event is still haven't fully discovered. This drama is beautifully written as a tribute to what has happened during May 1980.

I cried a lot while watching this, cried during the ending, cried while reading the comments, and I cried just by looking at their pictures knowing that there's a lot of "Myeonghee" & "Heetae", who's still waiting for their loved ones to come back. I still can't get over the story for a while even after I finished it.

Su. Spoiler

There's a saying that you shouldn't buy her shoes otherwise she"ll run away from you. Even if it is not exactly what happened..... Oh.My!!

AJ As well as to Go Min-Sin and Lee Do-Hyeon, congratulations to Jo Yi-Hyun for winning the "Best Youth Actor" award. His portrayal of Kim Myung-Soo is outstanding. In my opinion, he should have won the category outright (i.e. as a sole-winner), but perhaps the award panel have other considerations; therefore he has to share the award with the cute little actor from "Young Lady and Gentleman".

Mike I'm so happy for Go Min-Si and Lee Do-Hyun on their KBS awards. Even though I don't speak Korean, I watched the awards and was impressed with their poise and humbleness with their speeches and I have never, ever seen anyone with their speeches get down on hands and knees, bow to the ground in gratitude as Lee Do-Hyun did, wow. Go Min-Si seems shy, making her even more adorable. Even though I criticized Youth of May's ending with regards to Myunghee's fate, the love story of Myunghee and Heetae is up there with the best of Korean couples love story.

Sarah This is definitely one of the best drama in 2021. Meaningful storyline and highly recommended.

Kana So far the best drama in 2021! The message from the writer is very deep, it's almost like a poem for those left behind. It really humanized all the situation from that time, and show the hardness of everyone as an individial.

Besides I loved the production and simbolizing done, like the clock that returns to HaeTee after 40 years of being stock at that time, and he allows himself to let it go and keep going. It's endeed very sad but at the same time human and raw emotionally.

Not to mention the awesome acting work made for the 2 leads. Great chemistry! I hope we get to see them in another work, and finally with a happy ending.

Queen CR Don't trust the rating. This series is really good

koo i just watched the drama this month and i really regretted that i didn't watch it when it was on air..it must've been more meaningful watching it on May. but serious, i believe this drama and myungheetae will stuck in my head until next year. the drama will leave you laughed so hard and cried so hard the next second. i really want the drama get many awards as it deserved. hope we can see go minsi and lee dohyun work on the same drama again. their chemistry make the drama even more fun to watch.

Tharushi Lee Go Min Si is really pretty.

I can watch her face all day. This is a heartwarming story. Thank you for creating this wonderful drama, which is far beyond the typical Korean drama of romance. This is a refreshing consept. I like this a lot. Hope it will receive many many awards...!

I hope we can see good dramas like this in future too.

Sexy Boy Go Min-Si is my perfect girl. After Suzy Bae of course

Brkt Seems like dohyun and minsi are fated to be partner, their chemistry on and off cam are superb, you guys also suit each other. This is such a good drama, hope to see you both of you on another project again?

Sweet Home -> Youth of May -> another project soon

Mike I keep seeing over and over again scenes between Go Min-Si and Lee Do-Hyun: an incredible, achingly beautiful love story. I loved first date interaction, Heetae lovingly carrying Myunghee, cherry blossom scene, guitar-humming scene, after engagement scene where him seeing her wearing the shoes he gave to her, then running off hand in hand like The Graduate (they could've ended the story with this scene). I never watch the nastiness, cruelty of father scenes (I skip over it), and never rewatch the final episode (which I deleted on my dvr). But the love story is, I admit, beautifully done, emotionally, tearfully enhanced by timing of the music.

Edrianne Heartbreaking. Still crying while typing this. Such beautiful cast, I also love the OST! Definitely added on my top list of my fave dramas!

Zemerald You might think it’s an expected story in the first episodes but then you see how it’s totally new and very touching, loved every good character, the four main characters are adorable, the officer the father, jung tae and myeong soo. I’m crying it was so touching, Thanks for the writers and directors and actors that delivered such a deep story.

Ki Youth of May has been a really solid drama and what began as a quirky love triangle has soon blossomed into something far more poignant and hard hitting. This has been a solid drama and one of the more surprising entries on the calendar this year. A must-watch finale for a must-watch drama

Tina Amazing k drama with nice plots and moving on well. Fantastic performance and well written script with touching dialogues. Very touching with 1989 May Uprising in Korea.

Maricar The best drama of 2021

J The love story of this show was horrible...it felt very forced and both leads seemed to be so oblivious to the world. If they were just smart it could have worked out for them. Instead the show tried to force this "we love eachother and thats all that matters" type feeling without giving them any common sense. Seemed to be the trope throughout. "I believe in this or that so ots full force ahead" without using their brains at all. I was so much more interested in the history of the uprising. Disappointing it had very little focus on that aspect.

DS Before watching Youth of May, my expectation was: Light, youthful romance in the middle of political turbulence

Reality: sad ending that makes you wanna skip last episodes But it was still worth it because it gave my butterflies ??

rita It’s so sad but so beautiful, one of the best dramas I’ve ever seen. Hee-tae and Myeong-hee, you will always be in my heart. ❤️

AJ A beautiful series with outstanding acting and screenplay. As a viewer who comes from another Asian country with authoritarian past, the theme of "Youth of May" strikes a chord with me. And I'm among those who thinks that its ending is realistic and poignant.

Lee For anyone who loves a sweet innocent pure love story, you might want to give this a try. :) Ik a lot of people were unhappy with the plot but personally, I think it just makes this drama a whole lot better. Not saying I like how it ended, I cried a river watching this series damn.T T But it's a story based on real life events so I think it's a good choice that they chose an ending that'll seem more rational and kinda like a hit of reality one instead of something like a "happily ever after". As a viewer, I felt a heart wrenching feeling like I'm one of the real people who actually experienced loss of someone truly valuable in life. Wondering there are actually real people who might experienced something similiar to this out there just hurts me. As for the acting, they also did a good choice for casting lee dohyun and go minsi. Came for lee dohyun but end up stays for their chemistry together.<3

Lynn Excellent acting. But writing? Am I to believe that the father, all along had saved the money his daughter had sent him in an account and yet when she needed airfare he didn’t tell her then and give her the money for her education. Especially since the family fawned all over the fact that her boyfriend was a doctor. Or did it just not matter that his daughter was going to become a doctor. Are the woman’s only worth bargaining chips in a marriage. All for the good of the “family”. Which translates into the men only in the “family”. If the father had given her the money all would have been avoided. Just not a plausible storyline. But I am researching and learning of the uprising which I had not known of. So thank you for that and the excellent acting.

Mike SPOILER, I am giving away the ending. I hated the ending. I know that the Gwangju uprising was a real event, real tragedy, but the fictional love story built against this background did not need to end in Myunghee's death. There were plenty of tears and emotional situations without having the terrible ending, if that's what they were going for. I loved this series, the cast, crew, and production were excellent, this movie would've been up there as one of my favorites...until the ending, I'm really disappointed. Go Min-Si has such a natural, unique beautiful face, was terrific as was Lee Do-Hyun, the philosopher of the movie. I believe this would have been one of the top favorite K-dramas if both survived and the present day Myunghee and Heetae were seen happy and alive. I hated Myunghee's death, that was a mistake by the screenwriter and those deciding for it.

Jack Although I'm not exactly happy with the events that happened at the end, I'm glad that they ended the present day in the way they did. I was afraid that the man they showed in the beginning, Kyungsoo, was going to be Hee Tae and that his personality would change. Luckily it did not. Of course he did suffer a lot of heart break, but his older self being the happy kinda annoying self was really refreshing. I feel as though when there are large time skips like this in most dramas, writers do not make efforts to continue each characters traits, but in this they did and I am glad they did so.

BANDIT VON JAVA For all our whining of how we're supposed to move on from YoM, it must be 100x harder for the lead actor/actress. LDH n GMS must have the characters HHT n KMH "live" within them for the duration of the drama shoot. They didn't just memorize their lines, but they also had to inject their personality/interpretation into their characters. That's why many actors break down/have depression after playing an evil character. Thankfully, LDH is a playful, nerdy geek who didn't take things too seriously... They are both dynamic actors

ANGELA I love this quote from Hee-tae that expressed his sense of unbelonging/alienation n how grateful he was that Myung-hee found him..."When I was a kid, I loved turning the dial like this more than listening to the radio. Whenever I turned the dial slowly like this, I sometimes heard a faint signal that sounded unfamiliar. That signal seemed like me... A faint signal that no one listened to, n floated around aimlessly in the universe, with no colour or sound. Until you found me like this." [Cue: background music "The Rose"]

Cleo One of the best dramas I’ve ever seen! Highly recommend it. The acting, the story line and the chemistry between the characters is phenomenal!!! 10/10

Michele If you are a very sensitive person, I suggest skipping this drama. It was very well written and wonderfully acted, but so sad it ripped my heart out. It was especially painful because it was based on a real life event.

Dominsi Until now i can't get over to this drama. The story was good and the main leads chemistry so so good hopefully they receive award coz their acting was soooo good even the audiences can feel their emotions I LOVE THIS

Thabs So far, my favorite drama for 2021!

tiffany :) amazing but very tragic story about finding love and courage in the midst of chaos

i am not familiar with Korean history but the depicted events are horrifying. im appalled that the government got away with such corruption and abuse of power. rip to all the brave ppl who fought

personally, i dislike soo ryeon. she constantly rebels against her family but relies on their help to escape punishment while the rest of her peers suffer. not to mention, she has no sense of accountability for her actions that led to the illicit relationship. she was selfish for making her friend and fiancé suffer just because her own father cannot take responsibility for their financial troubles

on a lighter note, the main characters are all very attractive and talented. i have seen lee do hyun in 18 again, go min si in love alarm, and both in sweet home. i am excited to see their future projects

Trish Okay, can someone please tell me how am I gonna move on with this T__________T

ANGEL OF DEATH In ep.12, the banners put up to deny the 5.18 Gwangju Uprising were quite upsetting. It's incredible that by 2021, some people "forget" the pro-democracy movements n deny the military Gov't involvements in the massacre of civilians, believing that it was the work of North Korean "Commie" spies. Even Myung-soo who sneaked out of training bootcamp n witnessed first-hand soldiers open fire to civilians claimed that North Korean soldiers have invaded Gwangju. I guess DSC's military propaganda worked

BANDIT VON JAVA Soo-ryeon's character is sooo annoying. She is such a self-centered hypocrite n a spoilt brat. Back in High School, she instigated Myeong-hee to protest against the priest's arrest. While Myeong-hee was detained n interrogated, she got away b/c her rich dad must've pulled some strings to get her off the "Anti-Commie's investigation". She led political protests in University n got her friends all roiled up b/c she knew if she got arrested, her Dad could easily get her off... With a "friend" like her, who needs enemies... Oooff

s i still can't move on from this drama!! T.T

Ria Two words, utter nonsense.

Aj I don't know how I will ever get over this drama... I never felt this deep attachment and heartbreak over a show before. :(

Brigita DW For me, this drama is one of masterpieces i've ever watched. 12 episodes are perfect, there is no dull/boring scene because it is actually very complex and told many side stories, not just the love of Myeonghee (Go Minsi) and Heetae (Lee Dohyun).

1. This is a tribute of Gwangju Uprising. I never imagine, a revolutionary story will be explained this beautifully beside its patriotism 2. Yes, you can find the love story clearly. But, not only love story, you will find family's warmth. Myeonghee's father and brother, Heetae's brother, and how Soochan wanted to protect Sooryeon (+the ending of how their father's side that never been sxposed in early episode) 3. The scenes' cinematography is soooo fascinating. Like i jumped into that era. 4. The ending was very rational and it still stole my heart. I never thought i would be crying like this (i usually don't cry on romance drama :)) )

Actually, there are so many hidden gems in this drama but i think you must watch it yourself hehehe

Kim Myung Hee This drama is a tribute to the victims of Gwangju Uprising and to those people who lost their loved ones at that time, it shows one of the painful history of South Korea and those people who sacrificed themselves. This is not just a love story, it really shows how cruel the world is. We can learn from it and it really managed to capture the history. It really gives a warmful message to those people who suffered from that tragedy. This drama is a masterpiece and I really enjoyed watching this! Thank you to the actors who portrayed their roles effectively, and to the screenwriter and director.. thank you for creating this masterpiece, I realized that I am so lucky to have been born at this time period where my country is peaceful and we are living so comfortably.

Hwang Hee-Tae A remain from 5.18 victim identified after 41 years! It really gave me chills knowing that this happened exactly a week after Youth of May finished airing! https://n.news.naver.com/mnews/article/047/0002316290?sid=102

maria 10/10 pls watch!

That was a tragic ending...... even though all along we all knew what's going to happen but.....the casts lee do hyun and go minsi their chemistry is undeniably so good. I cried over fictional couple <33 peak kdrama lovers behaviour ;(

pdnims, writers and all of the staffs and casts, you guys really did an excellent job! i laughed, i blushed, i cried and i learned alot from the plot and storyline it was so amazing! the historical elements, romance, family and politics all in one drama.... waaahhh one of the best drama in 2021 hands down! i wish the rating dont define the storyline.

Thank you for the amazing 12 episodes that fill my sorrow and emptiness <3 and now it has come to an end..... #myungheetae <3

To those who love scarlet heart ryeo this drama suits you <3

Hud This was the best drama that i ever watch. Hee tae and myunghee were siblings in 'sweet home' and now play as lovers in 'youth if may'. I thought at first it might seems awkward but thay really did a gooddd job! I was like totally forgot that they were sibmings before. Great storyline, great acting. I finished all the episode in 2 nights and its all worth it. Cant wait to see another new project of lee do hyun. ❤️❤️

Kdrama Addict The most beautiful yet painful May ever. I expected the ending to be like that since May during 1980 was a really tough time for Koreans. Still, it didn’t lessen the pain when I finally finished watching. Thank you, Go Min Si and Lee Do Hyun, for giving life to the roles of Hwang Hee Tae and Kim Myung Hee. Youth of May will always be a drama that will forever be in my heart. Best Melo Of 2021 ❤️?

Cry Guy Wow, just wow. This is definitely a drama you have to watch. Great chemistry from the two leads. Wonderful portrayal of the other cast who all have their own unique characteristics and bleed life to their characters. So far, best melodrama of the year for me. And It Was Only 12 Episodes!

Dominsi One of the most painful kdramas I've watched?still can't move on how the drama was ended very painfully

juju on a separate note, all those atrocious soldiers must have reincarnated to US and canadian cops, very nasty.

juju very entertaining drama but very sad story...especially as expats we were there at the time, but didnt realise this was happening.

how did but Hwang Ki-Nam grow a conscience, or at least some semblance of sadness, in the span of seconds after young son got injured? the writer seem to take th east way out...notice this in many kdrama.

Lovely Really good short drama, also sad too :( i think jung tae is the psychologist in the beginning of ep 12 since he did got shot in the leg and the dr in the beginning was also limping…wish they showed more of what happen to the other characters like her tae’s friend that is in a coma, his dad, myeong hee’s mom and etc…

J b This drama is very heartwarming..very sweet.. yet very heartbreaking...

Xoxolettuce Prepare yourself with all the tissues :( best kdrama I’ve watched in a while. <3

Kimchi @Dawn its soo chan.they showed him and suryeon in the present time

Kdramawatcher Rewatch the last episode within 24 hours. Yes, sad ending is a must as I expected. This serial intended to showed us about Gwangju Uprising brutality. But as a serial, I think the ending is poor planned eh? Too rushed? I don't mind waiting for 4 episodes more haha! I wanna know about Lee Jin A' s family, about her brother come home after against Gwangju people. No offense to Choi Won Young's acting skill but 26 yo + 41 years later, you must be looked so old hahahaha.

BTW, it taught me so well about the ugly truth: wealthy people stay wealth during social-political chaos, even wealthier. But poor family like Kim family lost so many things.

Hee Tae and Jung Tae had evil abeoji. But they survive anyway. Lee family still wealthy and stronger. They really win, ha!

Dawn Oh, he is Jung Tae.

Dawn Maybe this clear to everyone, but who is the psychologist at the beginning the ep 12?

Bb hope this will have another 1 last episode to explain what happened to other casts? It's a sad ending at the same time it hangs me there because of unanswered questions about other casts. Please please?

Falala Beautiful ending. Cheers to the actors, actresses, writers and director. This is the best they can done and i would say this is also the best melodrama in 2021 so far.

James Christopher Park The preceding commenter, "yomyom" was point on. Apparently, that's the sad reality of the event that took place in Gwangju. I hope the families get their justice. Amazingly, the President during the uprising is still alive. I hope he'll go through hell for all he has done.

yomyom I think writer's intended to give this "sad" ending is well delivered. The way I see it, they want to give awarness to everyone that this event (Gwangju Uprising) is really happened and yes, there's a lot of people losses their loved ones due to this event. In contrary, if you make a drama with a settings around a time of conflict and giving it a "hollywood ending" is considered an insult from my perspective. An insult to the people who lost their lives and the people who lost their loved one.

Yeah, for me this drama is well written and ironically the sad ending is the best possible one.

Star Make sure you get tissues before watching :/

jeony wait nevermind, i rewatched the scene a couple times and only noticed how the guy was walking while sort of limping, it was indeed Jungtae. too bad they didn't show what happened to Jina tho, since they were sort of close too

jeony wait nevermind I rewatched the beginning a couple times and realized by how he was walking and sort of limping, it was indeed Jungtae .-.

jeony wait can't someone tell me who was at the beginning of episode 12? (the therapist guy) was it Jungtae perhaps? since they didn't really say what happened to Jungtae apart from the fact that he didn't live around Hwitae anymore

anu hope that Go Min-Si got more lead actress drama after this. And this drama really shows Lee Do-Hyun acting skills too. Really deserve that awards from 18 Again.

6 Lol @ those people who are hoping for a good ending. This drama showed a part of the Tragedy that happened at Gwangju. There were actual lives that were ruined, dreams shattered, and love stories that might have actually ended up like what happened to MH & HT. And for Seok Chul, or the girl that Hee Tae saved at Seoul, showing up at the end, I believe that they added that part to show what made Hee Tae to continue being a doctor, aside from the words that Myeong Hee told him.

Thank you to the Youth of May team for showing us a wonderful drama!

Pacoon An entertaining drama with a poorly planned ending. The girl who was always hospitalized and her story was being in a hospital bed, she appears at the end. Who cares? I had to search this page for who that character was. Tell me the story of Park Se-Hyun's character which is more interesting. What happened to her in the end? I really liked the work of this actress.

Conclusion: Kim Myung-Soo killed her father and her sister. That is why she becomes a priest.

kyo interesting drama... but the older hee tae really doesnt look like 66 years old. he just really look 45 Y.o. may be the MUA need to improve more.... :(

Nazwa Jais I love this drama so much !!!!! Love this couple

Rocky This drama needs more recognition. It's not a cringey type of romance.

Dawn @Winter Where are you from? The drama interesting, I feel hard heartbreak for the people in Gwanju (this drama made me cry) and I angerier because of the cruel people, especially Hwang Ki-Nam, he is the most heartless. I have to beat in the air to calm down my anger. But then I recall that, in my country happened more cruel, and horrible things in the past. (Sorry my bad english)

This Drama Is So Good, Everyone Must To See! :)

Jasmine I don't really like Soo Ryeon, she is quite selfish, even to her friend and to her father.

Tata Watching this drama is Just like Watching the communist era in Indonesia, although Indonesia has More victims and More tragic. For some People who never live in a country with communism issue, May be they cant think How coul and make many good historical drama. d Democracy protestors called communi. I feel communi is sensitive issue in that Time, how the unstabil government manipulate everything to their own. Wow this drama is very nice to portray the political situation in that Time. I think its Really Great drama. I love How South Korea has High nationality

Lysa Its was a good romantic historical but it’s getting bored started ep 9. The story is all about student protestor and just shows how powerful Hwang Ki Nam is (Hwang Hee Tee’s father) and i hate the fact that nobody can beat Hwang Ki Nam.

Bea It was addictive since the beginning. The fact that it is inspired by real facts makes the drama even more touching. Can't wait to see the ending. I'm gonna buy lots of tissues

Sad_twerking Just by the fact it's 12 eps, I'm gonna be sobbing by the end of this. Hymn of death vibes.

crispy_cb97 i want to watch this drama but im not sure, the reviews arent very convincing

alva 12 ep good length, tight story and dialogue, unlike the usual korean drama where half the times are devoted to flashbacks because they dont know how to tell a story properly. and having two hotties, go and keum to look at, no complaints.

Kdramawatcher The police officer Deserve Better. At least he knows So Ryeon' name

Star This drama is really really good! But prepare yourself because you will cry :(

Anddy I hope this drama will end with happy Ending?i'm really2 Don't want to be depress if this would be Sad ending..i'm really love this drama

Goldenb This drama scaring me now,my heart is breaking for every innocent people who suffered from this, unexpected and great drama

sadness Hate the sad ending.. only left 2 episode..less change to hope is happy ending.. i thought they will reborn & the bad guys will get the punishment.. is hurt but true.. i need to skip the episode...

Winter this series is like what is happening in our country now

Keytie Knowing that this is a historical melodrama, that got me interested. love the story and their chemistry is on point. It makes me sad knowing the struggles during that time in Gwangju. I cant believe it that it is just 12 episodes. Looking forward on what will happen next

Mj @haru I think you didn't understand the plot well..or maybe you did a lot of skips..or perhaps u know nothing abt love (oops no offense)

Mj It was just so crzy to think that there's just 2 episodes left. Its crazier to think what will happen on these last two episodes ? why does it have to be just 12 episodes ? director-nim can we possbly extend??

Shayonti How can this drama not ranked within top 20 tv programmes.woah ppl r becoming taseless day by day ? This is the best k drama i have ever seen. What a acting ❣️❣️

hilda debora I thought this is romantic story no... it's triller and horror I can't imagine the gwangju people's feeling at that time :(

Dawn I want happy ending (but it has only a little chance). Literally I'm in tears, because of the last scenes, and the sentence (in ep 9). :(

Belquis @haru

No, I don't think Hee Tae was greedy when he agreed to get engaged, because Myung Hee who told him to do so. Just because of that. He didn't want to force his feelings on her when she was the one who told him to get engaged because she was thinking of her best friend. And he takes Myung Hee words seriously, as he can't decline what she wants. Hee Tae was simply waiting for Myung Hee to realize her feelings, and once she told him she doesn't want the month to end without him, he rapidly took her hand and ran from the whole engagement party. I think his personality is really beautiful, he cares for Myung Hee a lot and continuesly expresses his feelings to her but at the same time he doesn't want to force anything on her. Their love is so beautiful! <3

haru this is not a love story ... the moment he decided to be engaged to the other girl ... their love story ended ..... hurting so many innocent people ( the girl , her brother , her friend ) ... it's not a love story it s being greedy .. he become a jerk , all the others charecters were good people why he did hurt them just bcs he was greedy

Dominsi To:kdrama oppahyung I agree with you LDH and GMS are still rookie actors and yet they rrally carried the drama with their acting skills, chemistry and I would also want to give credits for the whole casts they did such an amazing job their chemistry is really top tier plus their visulas really added the cherry on top.Even though they played siblings in other drama the still managed to give us top tier chemistry in this drama as a lovers.

Lol I didn't realise that Youth of May only has 12 episodes... we are left with 4 more :(

Dawn It is soo pretty and elegant drama. It's don't boring, even if I see three parts one after another. Lee Do Hyun and Go Min-Si did really great job. Hwang Hee Tae is so sensitive and strong a same time, I love his character. I like Kim Myung He too. They did good character portray, all characters are seem like real.

Hailey Masterpiece! so many feelings & emotions.

I missed this kind of a drama

Their chemistry is so good ...

nkili what's up with the su ryeon hate? y'all are just misguiding her, I think out of everyone, she's the one going through a lot and y'all can't understand it... yes, maybe she shouldn't have urged myung hee to date the dude but I guess she didn't expect her to fall for the jerk

Joy So far I’m loving this drama,it’s so amazing I love the casts, characters and their chemistry who ever casted them did an amazing work,Lee dohyun and go minsi look good together, and for rookie actors like them it’s very impressive that the ratings of this drama is ranging from 4-5% cause usually some rookie actors drama ratings can only pull off a 1-2% ratings, and lee dohyun’s acting is superb and convincing from the facial expressions and voice tone you can really feel the emotion and I’m glad that go minsi is also the recognition she deserves I hope they will grow more in this industry they are such talented actors.

Ichime super like the drama 10/10 Super enjoyy, really recommended

Currently obessed with on going kdrama Mon-tues: Youth of May & Doom at your service Wed-thurs: my roommate is a gumiho Fri-sat: so i married an antifan Sun: *get rest my dear eyes*

Buddie They have the right pace for a melodrama. Each characters have different layers and stories which made me empathise them. Except for the dad (spoiler alert). So far I'm at eps 6. I enjoyed watching the leads' romance. I also love lee do hyun's expressions which i find it to be always on point. And go min si is so elegant. I couldn't find anyone else playing the character.

Sahar Best korean drama forever

caratdeul Have you guys ever thought that the siblings from Sweet Home might be the children of Myung-Hee and Hee-Tae? ^-^

hhtlovee I love this everything in this drama especially Hwang Hee Tae. He is so precious. My dream guy aaaaaaaaaaa ?❤️

Nara If I could rate it 200% I would!! Absolutely love everything about this drama. I’m obsessed!!!! The cast is amazing and the story is so intriguing. Everything about it is so emotional and just draws you in. Recommend for sure!

jerry I wish soo ryeon will die I hate her

Kelo I have a feeling the skeleton in the beginning is myeong hee. Maybe the both of them will reborn and meet each other in their new life..?

Bill Lol now i know i'm not the only one who's hate Soo Ryeon. She really made me disappointed when she just ask Myung Hee to told Hee Tae to marry her bcs of her family. I really waiting for her to say 'sorry' to Myung Hee even though she know that her bestfriend and Hee Tae is in love with each other, but that word really didn't come out from Soo Ryeon's mouth. Soo Ryeon is definitely a coward who just pretend to be brave, disgusting.

Was born in july Soo Ryeon is both selfish and a coward

Julie I cant wait to watch this when I fi n s h 10 other drama's lol i have watched 20 drama's so far.

cp soo ryeon's brother is literally the sweetest, how can you hate his character? is it cuz he's around myung hee a lot? As for soo ryeon... she kinda piss me off, she was my favorite character up until now. Her family situtation is serious but tbh, she brought it to herself and poor Myung hee, my heart literally broke for her. Seriously, I cannot believe all the audacity this girl had in ep 5-6, knowing myung hee liked hee tae, like girl tf? Seems like a one sided friendship if you ask me, especially after finding out myung hee took the blame for what soo ryeon did, like shes always inconsidering myung hee's feelings and somehow makes everything about her while myung hee, being the angel she is, cares for her enough to put her needs over her own needs and even give up the person she likes. Lol, I'm like a soo ryeon anti fan rn, im so steamed.

Krookrookina merjjj I wish the skeleton that was shown in ep 1 is soo ryeon!!!!!!! I hate her.

Rose I guess I'm not the only one who hates Soo Ryeon for being selfish ...

Rose Myeonghee and Hee Tae is so precious, please protect this couple. All I want for them is to be happy together~

nameless commenter I understand the perspective of each main character except Sooryeon lmao. I guess it's because we haven't really seen her pov yet but so far all we see is her being selfish. Whenever she gets caught and imprisoned, her father bails her out and then she whines about how she could've handled it herself, and that happened at least like 2-3 times in a course of 6 episodes. Next, she tells Heetae that she wants to keep the fake engagement going for at least a month so that she can aid with her father's business partnership. Heetae tells her how bad that idea was too lmao. Then she goes and lies about not knowing about Myunghee and Heetae's relationship for some unknown reason, only to cause another avalanche of problems so she ends up confessing it to her brother.

God, I hope her pov is not of her being bullied by her classmates for not taking responsibility or begging her father to free Myunghee when she was caught. I hope her arc is reasonable enough.

Calada Soo ryeon... how can you be so selfish

Lisa I can't stand sooryeon omg. Why is she making munghee feel bad for being with hee tae, sooryeon has everything she ever wanted in life, how can she be so selfish to try to take the only thing munghee has. I can't stand her ugh

meee i hope they end up with each other. ill not accept if something happened to myeong hee huhuhuhuhuhu

cynt So Ryeon characters in eps 6 just driving me crazy. How can be shes so selfish lol

ameera i like both of the main cast lee do hyun and go min si they look so good together . but the things i dont like is hwang hee tae's families except his mum and little brother (hwang jung tae) . and also i dont like lee soo ryeon's families UGHHHH i really hate her brother (lee soo chan) . anyway hwang hee tae ang myung hee looks suits together :) they the one who deserves to get married after all Periodt .

Uli Been so long since the last time watch melo and looking forward because both leads are my faves.

Also Love the little brothers. Their chemistry, development relationship hahahaha and I just found out that both play Kim Young-Kwang child version in different drama. One from "The Secret Life of My Secretary" and the other from "Hello, Me!"

Lui This drama is so cute

Mahi soo ryeon characters so annoying, childish and selfish. UGH

michelle this drama was really cute, i can't accept if its become unhappy ending

Hash Another sad ending? :"(

AMJ At first I thought it was just a melodrama set in 40 years ago, then I looked up Gwangju uprising now I think it is going to have a sad ending, specially with the skeleton at the start. God damn it.

demitres Absolutely stunning. And Both Lee Do Hyun and Go Min Si look sooooooo good together. I love both of their characters

Mira Can someone please explain to me how go minsi can look like 10 people at the same time. Sometimes she looks like iu, sometimes son naeun, jennie, yeri, rosé, ryujin,. Like damn she's so beautiful.

Korean fan I am really excited to know how the story goes and yet to know to what extent Gwangju uprising will be portrayed in this drama. It is heart breaking for sure. Gwangju uprising was itself a tragedy and heart breaking.

Jen I like how the female lead out here is not the typical drama female lead, being peppy, energetic, jumping here and there, screaming and acting cute. She is soft spoken, wears almost no make up (which makes her character more real) and gives the calm aura. I love the female lead character written by the writer / director for this particular drama.

upi i sense a birth of new sad second-lead hero.. i predict people will love Lee SuChan's character..

Dramasunshine Someone said Go Min Si is too short for Lee Do Hyun???? bruh the height difference shouldn’t matter wtf and plus it’s So Cuteee, they have amazing chemistry

I personally didn’t watch Sweet home. But I’ve watch their individual works and I love them both. I’m rooting for great ratings. I know it’ll be devastatingly sad tho :((( the gwangju uprisings was a very horrific time

Ryujin I just wondering about the skeleton. I wished it not Myong hee. The rest of the storyline is perfect. What I can say is I'm hooked on this drama.

Yedam Go min si's visual in this drama is breathtaking, like how is she so pretty. Also this drama is so good, I've been re watching the episodes, can't wait for more. Fighting go minsi and lee do hyun

Yeseul this is only 12 episodes but please... please let this be a happy ending :(((

Will Kiryuu I thought it would be awkward to see them both as a pair since it's only last week that I finished sweet home drama. BUT there was no trace of that, I love their Chemistry.

yejitopia yall, sleep on beds, not this kdrama

gibbs and he is too nice for kim myung hee , shes is a just a bag of doom and gloom.

gibbs keum sae rok looks good next to lee do hyun, go min si a bit too short for him, unless with some extreme heels. plus, keum sar rok character nice and feisty.

Erin Immediately felt from the first episode that this drama will be great! I love the plot of the drama, really looking forward on how it will unveil; the cast, characters and chemistry between the two are so good adding to that I love how this was during 1980's South Korea it really gives a new view and awareness about the country's past++ the setting, the clothes, and the overall feeling was on point also. Wishing that Hee Tae and Myung Hee will end up together huhu,,I know this is a melodrama but please please I hope the ending doesn't dissapoint.

ldh This drama is really fascinating, the story is on 1980s and the set is really eye catching, the place, the clothes, and everything just on point. The plot of the story is also really goood, so far i really like this drama

nano After finished watching ep 1 and 2, why do I feel like this is going to have a sad ending by the death of Hwang Hee-Tae? Let's see if I got it right or not.

Mahi Wait what?! Its a melodrama?! Wish that myung hee and hee tae gonna end up together

Fryingpancouople This drama is promisingly good

Helen I am really looking forward to seeing Lee Do Hyun in this new drama series. He’s a fantastic actor. One of the best young South Korean actors making a name for themselves. I think he could become one of the greats if he keeps focused and works hard. From what I’ve read he’s definitely taking his acting career seriously. I hope the drama gives him a lot of testing scenes to show how his acting his developing. I hope he also gets to work again with IU sometime in the future.

A. A. Ron So they were technically brother and sister in “sweet home” and now they will be love interest to each other in this drama... talk about a whole different way of having to love each other. It will be interesting to see

michi Yesss Can't Waittt

zea OMG do hyun and go minsi??? Can't Wait

Solin Cant wait for this !! especially wanting to see Oh Man Seok acting in this one ! him becoming Lee Do Hyun Father will be so interesting !!!

Rain I just finished watching sweet home not that long ago and I loved both of their characters. I really love lee do hyun other works so I'm very excited to see how they both are going to act in this upcoming drama.

aye. i honestly can't wait for this! i don't know how true it is but i read somewhere that bc they unintentionally showed some romantic spark in sweet home, they got casted for this romance drama? if this is true, it's damn funny.

i saw them as siblings until the end. then i found this news and suddenly, their last moment together feels very different hahahaha. nevertheless, i am looking forward to this!

Ichi What can't wait for this one omg

Lee Do Hyun fans Omg! No way! ....Why???? Go Min-Si ....Please please....What about Jo Soo Min

Roann Omg I can’t wait for Lee Do Hyun and Go Min Si to star together! They did so well with their roles in Sweet Home and I fell in love with Lee Do Hyun’s acting in 18 Again hehe. It’s gonna be a little weird because I’m still used to them as siblings, but I can’t wait!!!

daiz ngl, i was surpised with this combo as i've used to them as siblings in Sweet Home. i'm not gonna bother with the fact that they're blood related or not. this is appropriate simply due to the fact that they're an actor & actress. i found it interesting with this power move (if the director was aware of their previous roles). regardless, i could see the chemistry between them and can't wait.

NotSoOrdinaryFangirl I ship Go Min Si with Song Kang in Sweet Home but yeah Lee Do Hyun and her have a chemistry as a couple i can't deny it im looking forward to this drama i really love her acting in Sweet Home it's my first time saw her and definitely inlove with her now lol

Naya im so excited

zana from siblings to this ?❤️

bokjoo So excited!! Their chemistry is so good at sweet home!!

Jan I’m excited for this drama. Lee Do Hyun stood out at sweet home and I think the scene where Go Min Si was fixing his eyeglasses was just appropriate because they finally showed how they care for each other as siblings after being so cold. He even congratulated Go Min Si’s first love with Hyun Soo.

Angel Just can't imagine them as couple because of Sweet Home. Huhu. But for sure I'll be watching bec of Do Hyun!! Such a great actor.. Fighting!!!

Jack Yea the actors are not blood related but I hope we can get some

romance scenes because they have good chemistry go min si can probably experience some romance scenes lee do Hyun because his performance in 18 again was damn good

HOPEFULL lmao isn't this the same situation where park seo joon and hwang jung eum played as siblings in Heal Me Killed Me, then became a couple in She Was Pretty?

Sunsunie It will not be awkward to see this pair since their roles in Sweet Home are siblings BUT are NOT blood related at all, Go Min Si's role was adopted by Lee Do Hyun's parents (had to say this simce tgere are ppl who really thought they were siblings and can't imagine being a pair in this drama. They seem to have a good chemistry and theplot is kind of interesting although it is quite typical, can't wait for this drama.

upi still can't imagine Hong DaeYeong with another woman.. he's still the twin's father and Jeong DaJeong's husband for me.. i'm sorry, but i can't help..

Jericho When I still thought they were related by blood, that scene in Sweet Home when Eun-hyeok was bandaging Eun-yu's ankles and she fixed his glasses made me uncomfortable because the way they looked at each other did not look appropriate between a brother and a sister. And when it was revealed they're not related, i think their feelings were actually romantic and their parents were killed in the story maybe to give them a reason to be together as lovers but that would still be weird since they were raised as siblings. They have a chemistry though so maybe this is why they get to play lovers in this new series.

Faith Yay! I just finished watching sweet home. They're siblings in that series. Too soon for them to cast as lovers. I just can't imagine...

theBerlin Mate I've been rooting for Do Hyun. 18 again really did bring him to the spotlight I believe. Sweet Home really just blew me away. More than the webtoon I felt I was watching a real proper Tokyo Ghoul Live Action. Yay to the sibling turned lover pair❤️❤️

cvvv wait omg snowdrop's story is also based on the 80s and this drama's story as well ... aaahhh cant wait for 2021 dramas .. would be so cool to see more dramas doing the 80s era as well in 2021 just like it was for 2020 but in music

Sapphire Looking forward to this drama. Enjoyed the acting of both actors in Sweet Home which they really did give justice in portraying the characters, especially Do Hyun as Eun Seok. So glad that Go Min Si is now a female lead.

LOL So the story kinda continues from Sweet Home in a "different dimension" or parallel world of some sort. He became a medical student. She gave up becoming a ballerina and became a nurse (after helping the brother perform surgery). Siblings in another drama then lovers here. Cant wait.

hellothere Oh, that's interesting lolol, they'll go from siblings to lovers? Now I'm wondering how that will play out since I just finished Sweet Home and can't imagine it haha
