rian Aug 14 2018 2:38 am this is the one of the best japanese drama i've ever seen. Truly heartwarming. I have rewatched this drama for maybe more than five times
Komodochan_ Feb 17 2018 8:52 am Flawless j drama. 10 out of 10
heizeru Dec 27 2015 1:45 am It's so much more than just a story about a single parent raising his child, I feel that everyone and anyone who watches this will be able to give their hearts to the characters regardless of having gone through the same situation or not. An incredible and inspiring story that's on a different level from the mainstream dramas, not many can teach you life lessons that you didn't know you needed.
JR Nov 24 2015 5:51 am "This is good", I said to myself episode after episode. Life appreciation, love it.
peace_luver Oct 16 2015 2:02 pm Totally in love with this series. Love the story, just flow naturally. The casts are wonderful, especially masaaki uchino and takeru satoh. This drama makes me love Takeru even more.
Tonbi Fans Aug 08 2015 2:31 am SCORE : 10 out of 10
I must say that watching this drama had changed me in a way I never thought it could. It touched me somewhere deep inside my heart where I always felt hatred about my family's condition.
I never thought that parents would struggle a lot to raise a kid.
This is a must watch drama!!!! It's very relatable and very realistic.
Uchino Masaaki is the hero and the life of this drama. I've watched him in JIN, he was really good, but here he completely nailed it!!
ace Nov 25 2014 7:29 am Solid cast. Poignant and simple story of blue collar widower struggling to raise his son. What he lacks in mental acuity he makes up with heart and determination. Was sad at times but it never really felt maudlin or anything.
naily May 25 2014 7:30 pm A wonderful life story. Very impressed to the idea of the drama. drama should be like this. show the kindness, the motivation, the patience of the lead story and the community. sallute to Japan drama. hope my country would make a story like this.
Clarkdale44 Mar 23 2014 10:01 am WOW, what a beautiful story line.. i am totally amazed, glad i watched it. Great casting by all the actors specially Masaaki Uchino. Every episode was touching. Its a fantastic drama, make sure to have tissue with you. You might need it.
WARNING DON'T READ FURTHER IF YOU HAVE YET TO WATCH THIS DRAMA:- I am speechless to describe what i felt after watching all together. Yasuo, Akira, Yumi Sakamoto and the kids really felt like real family. Yasuo's daughter in law was very understanding and mature. Akira is lucky to have a wife like her. I am somewhat jealous!!! Well i am quite impressed by his and his wife's pure intentions for Yasou to live with them. I have never seen such father-son relationship like this before. This drama deserves many awards. Its very hard for me to hold back tears. I feel very refreshed after finishing this drama.
I will give it 9/10(Great storyline, casting casting, great cinematography)
ranka Jan 09 2014 10:19 pm a really great story, great cast..
you will definetely cry no matter how hard you hold back your tears..
it's not just-another-drama, it teaches you sooo many lessons of life..
if it's possible, please watch it with your family, neighbours, friends and even co-workers..
lina Sep 08 2013 8:52 am never thought i'll be hooked to this drama! it made me reevaluate myself as a parent and neighbors! wish all community/world are like the characters, then it will be a better world for all of us. watch it! you'll never regret it! the first drama ever to make me cry EVERY episode!
nonsibi Jul 30 2013 2:07 pm Same here Cobalt, I watched Takako's Say You Love Me/Aishiteiru to Ittekure (1995) and Beautiful Life (2000) before; but I will continue watching Tonbi because of its story line. I like watching drama/movie which makes me able to look at life with different perspective.
実花 Jul 17 2013 3:57 am Splendid! Heart-wrenching and soulful. Sato Takeru was wonderful but it was Masaaki Uchino who carried the show as a hardworking, self-sacrificing father. The first episode had me crying already but the whole drama was definitely worth the tears! :)
aboreo May 12 2013 12:20 am This is the best j-drama i've ever seen
Lins Apr 13 2013 9:46 pm coming to watch it becauise of favourite actor or actress?? forget it.
this story is beautiful. This is everything I want from a TV drama, it weaves a beautiful tale abput father and son. Don't you dare bring it down because of "actresses" or romance. If you want silly romcom, this is not for you. It;s a delight to see Masaaki in a fatherly role.
cobalt Mar 31 2013 12:43 pm Having originally tuned in to this drama to see one of my favorite actresses (Takako Tokiwa) only to lose her one episode in, I was about to voice my extreme displeasure at the turn of events. Then, I went to 'Google Images' to have a look at Kazue Fukiishi. Never mind... ;)
Kuromi Mar 17 2013 7:51 pm I can cry a lot and then I laugh so hard Great story Great acting Really worth to watch
indahororo Feb 02 2013 5:34 pm this drama can make you cry and then make you laugh so hard..
Novita Dec 31 2012 8:38 pm can't wait until 13rd January, i really like Takeru Sato.
