So Jul 16 2026 8:00 pm What an absolute waste of time. I’d watch Park Jinyoung in anything… so I thought. This was just relentless angst and misery for no good reason. The male lead deserves so much better.
Cel Jun 14 2026 8:32 am I dont know what to feel, it had so much potential. The FL became so much distress and out of touch for ML, she doesnt show any concern for ML. When his Grandma had health concern she didnt even show herself to the hospital. I Hope Jin young will have a more decent story next.
Kate May 28 2026 1:58 pm Gosh. This is one of the best kdramas. I dont agree with the negitive reviews. This was an incredibly deep series about love in all of your life relationships. Friends, family, lovers. I cried a lot with them. The emotional maturity of all the characters is rare. These were all incredibly loving, kind and understanding people who only wanted the best for each other. Most people in this world are selfish and speed though life. Staying so distracted and busy that there is only shallow growth for their enrire lives. It's sad. They dont understand anything about how a well lived life thats full of meaningful relationships and experiences should look like. The messages each character spoke about were complex. Most would never understand unless they had similar relationships and life experiences. The wealth of knowledge that was shared about life and relationships was obviously missed by many. If you can't comprehend what is being shared, then thats on you. Not everyone is good at math. If your brain struggles to understand the concepts, its not the maths fault. The pace was not slow. It was perfect. The cinematography was gorgeous to look at. The actors were so good. I felt like each character was so authentic. It was just real life. No games. No bs. Just honest raw emotions, action and reaction planned by their own thoughts. Beautiful story. I loved it. I could write more and explain things, but whats the point. You either get or or you don't. This was a complex story with incredibly rich messages throughout. Im so thankful I got to share some time with these characters myself. Sometimes I felt intrusive because they were so raw. Im incredibly happy I watched it and ignored the bad reviews.
Jk May 18 2026 2:11 pm This is why not everybody should be a producer, the one who produce this should be a shaman instead since you like makin so much nonsense
RonW May 15 2026 9:32 pm Don't Waste Your Time On This Piece Crap! Look at the audience episode readings as your best guide. Nobody was watching this POS. What a total waste of my time. It was boring as hell. At least l had the good sense to fast forward thru at least 3-4 hours of this so called slow burn which is the best description of how it treats its audience. Watching two indecisive very boring people going through life and letting all the positive potential of a relationship just fade away for sheer lack of effort means that they were both total losers whose future existences will remain hopeless.
Taylor May 01 2026 8:29 am Oh my god, I just wasted 10 hours of my life that I could never get back. It was entertaining at first until both of the main couple could not fix sh*t. All that talking, crying and reunion and they still couldn't find anything. The other roles are useless ash too oh my god lmao and they added nothing to the drama. I honestly had to rate this 2/10 and that's still generous. And they broke up 2 times just because they couldn't meet properly. This is a modern world, y'all don't have facetime or something?
AK Apr 29 2026 3:08 am I’m still on episode 9 and honestly, I’m losing interest. I did something I never usually do: I checked the comments to see if there’s any hope for a decent ending.
The way Tae-Seo just shows up at the guesthouse is so forced. That key scene feels totally manufactured just to ruin the mood, and it really wasn't necessary. I actually thought the drama and the chemistry between the characters were great until that point.
It’s just so unrealistic that Eun-A doesn’t just come clean with both guys. She should have told Seong-Chan she has a boyfriend, and she should have let Tae-Seo know she was meeting her ex one last time.
If you’re in a relationship, you have to expect your partner might show up unannounced. You can't just stay in the same house as your ex—even in separate rooms—without communicating that properly.
The whole situation is just frustrating. And when you get caught in a mess like that, you explain yourself instead of staying silent, which honestly just looks like an admission of guilt. She almost sends him a text to explain but then backs out. You really have to wonder what she’s thinking.
That’s exactly what feels so forced and unrealistic. People just don’t treat each other like that. In a partnership, you have to communicate and clear things up immediately when something goes wrong.
It’s a real shame that the drama is heading in the wrong direction for no reason, ruining the great acting and the whole vibe. It feels like a waste of time.
I’d still watch other dramas with these two, but hopefully with a better script next time.
I’m still curious about the rest of episode 9 and the finale, but my expectations are pretty low after reading the comments. I’m already finding myself taking breaks more often because watching it isn't a joy anymore—it’s just a letdown.
Suz Apr 23 2026 4:49 pm Maybe if Eun-a hadn’t started out interrupting Tae-seo while He was trying diligently to study in the school library in the first episode, maybe I wouldn’t have gotten so annoyed every time she called him while he was away in college. Although she’d say she didn’t want to interrupt, she’d finally say that she really wanted to see him. And of course, he would interrupt his schedule to meet her on her terms. Maybe the writer & director didn’t mean for her character to come across as completely self absorbed, but that’s exactly how she appeared. Meanwhile Tae-seo’s character came across as some kind of 21st century saint & he’s really supposed to wait until she finally decides to include him in her future life? If she decides to, no promises there. All actors did a splendid job, but I find that him saving himself for her unrealistic & more pathetic than romantic.
Oily Apr 20 2026 2:13 pm The drama started really good until one moment came when the FL abruptly told the ML that, her life mattered to her more than spending it uselessly with him. So, it means so far he had been a pass time for her. Seriously. But I understood her at that moment. So that we okay.
And then ten years later, their lives were going really good. FL had seen ups and downs, and was again at Rock bottom, and suddenly has lots of free time on her hand and being pass time with the ML.
Iol Apr 19 2026 3:17 am Felt like a pointless story. The ML is unlikable and boring, and the FL stubborn, wishy washy, and just selfish.
I'm all for slow burn and internal struggles, but this ain't it
Rora Apr 17 2026 9:51 am Rrr.... Sorry to say, but Mo eun na is so selfish..
Moon Apr 16 2026 5:47 am This Drama is 1000/10 for me !
Ian Apr 11 2026 6:35 am This drama.. Make me hard to breath from ep 1 to the last... Its so heavy in my heart... ???
Someone Apr 10 2026 7:46 pm @Matias I understand where you’re coming from, but neither Taesoo nor Euna had it easy. Yes Taeso had a family to go back to and he dedicated his life to them, but what you fail to see is exactly that. He completely lost himself while sacrificing everything he enjoyed for people he loved. He never put himself first, he clearly wanted to do grad school and join the lab in uni but couldn’t do both because of his family And Euna. Even when she came back after 10 years, he still would have given up going back to his hometown for her. It’s true that Euna didn’t have a family to go back to but she lived her life the way she wanted, she pursued her dreams, although she had a depressed dad at home, she left the respossibility to his girlfriend, who had no obligation to stay with him btw, Euna had no right to blame her. I’m not sayin that she shouldn’t have chased her dreams, but she atleast got to do everything she wanted to do, without taking into account anyone.
Mia Apr 10 2026 6:38 pm I really tried my best to finish this drama but I’ve come to my limit. Halfway through ep 8 and I give up. I usually enjoy realistic, slow paced, slice of life dramas, but this one is too slow, way too slow. There isn’t much to the storyline, we’re just here watching two people make wrong life decisions and going about their lives. I didn’t feel bad for either of them, although they had tragic backstories, both actors lacked in delivery. I’m usually a heavy crier but I felt no empathy. I think Jin Young is a good singer, not very much of an actor. I always feel like he’s acting, and he always has the same kind of roles.
Denise Apr 10 2026 6:46 am This drama is clearly not everyone's cup of tea based on the reviews, but it's a 10/10 for me. If you want a bittersweet realistic drama and a good cry (if you're a crier), then I highly recommend it.
I feel like most of the viewers who disliked this are just not the target audience. The story was really realistic for me as it explored all the struggles and conflicts life can give you. It was full of wrong timings and misunderstandings that I feel like could've been avoided if they, or mostly Eun-a, just actually talked to Tae-seo clearly and honestly before making all the decisions they did. However, I could honestly understand why they made all the decisions they did because hey, that's just how life happens sometimes.
Eun-a might've been self-centered but I understand where she is coming. It wasn't explored well but she went through so much and had to make decisions that negatively affected the relationship. Tae-seo on another hand was pitiful, I would say. He loved Eun-a for all those years and understood her every time. But, their own lives ultimately made it hard for them to be together.
I understand the other's sentiment that A-sol should've ended up together with Tae-seo, but it was fitting that they didn't. Tae-seo loved someone so deeply and him being together with A-sol would be a cheat to how he actually felt and it would've been just a forced connection due to A-sol's feelings for him. As for Seong-chan, in a way, he really just took advantage of Eun-a's vulnerability into having the kind of relationship that they had.
All in all, they were both right. Eun-a's place was right for her and Tae-seo's place was right for him. They were just not made to live in the same place.
Props to the writers for the rather realistic story. I personally think the actors did well in bringing me to tears every time, so props to them as well.
Liquette marie pierre Apr 07 2026 10:01 am Loved it ...all ..very much... . Its slow pace never hollow...
Its winding path ..so that this Love unfolds while settling past conflicts and matures enough so they can reunite ..
Beautiful sensitive acting ..
Rick Apr 06 2026 2:45 pm Love the actors, and that’s where my love ends. This drama was a total disappointment to me. Yeah there were some good scenes, but not enough to save it. I have watched about 200 KDramas and this was the first that I wished I had not watched. I watch KDramas to escape reality, and if I want to feel bad I will watch the news. Nothing against any of the actors, and I look forward to see them in future dramas.
Lucia Apr 05 2026 1:03 pm Love this drama. Such a realistic history.
Kim Ji Jyung Apr 05 2026 1:42 am Dunno why but I really hate Eun-A's character. And when I read many comments here, it turns out im not alone... This movie problem is Eun-A... I prefer Tae-So with Im A-Sol... Not recommended because the story just about the main male role cannot move one with his toxic first love girl friend...?
Garl Apr 05 2026 12:04 am Agree with danjoonki. Eun A make it complicated. Tae Seo to good for Eun A. He deserve better. I'm waiting for the end just want to know how it it, but i feel it weird. So I dont recommend this
Danjoonki Apr 04 2026 1:59 pm Mo eun ah is selfish, life is simple, she make it hard.. i thought i can relate at first half episodes, but in the end i failed.. this drama, many viewers are hoping for the best results thats why we watching at the end.. hoping in her next drama (kim min ju) giver her the nest story that satisfying. I like her face and reaction. They are good actor and actress all the cast even grandma store, but the story not satisfying kinda weird. Sorry i will not watch melow kdrma again. Its not boring sometimes but but its weird and bad ending.
Steve Apr 04 2026 9:47 am The first episode was promising, but the drama went downhill from there. Not recommended. The biggest issue is that Mo Eun-A’s motivations are difficult to understand—partly due to Kim Min-Ju’s limited range, but also because the script fails to adequately explain the character’s decisions. As a result, the ending feels unclear and unearned. While sadness and heartache are part of life to be sure, they do not exist for their own sake.
No shine Apr 04 2026 1:08 am I agree with many who felt the drama had potential for healing but the writer opted for pain and distress instead. Cloudy skies throughout. Even when there was a glimpse of sunshine...they somehow created events to wipe away the smiles for everyone. There were characters, I felt should have stories to tell but were left in a corner....like the ML's good friends, including the timber guy...and the postal girl. The whole drama seemed like the writer's sad trip. But it had great camera work and b/g music.
Renwa Apr 03 2026 3:33 pm I take my role as a viewer very seriously; my role as a reviewer even more so. At best, I need to call Still Shining an “art film.” With my heart shredded and then the remains pummeled further, I forced myself to see it to the end. Clearly, the screenwriter & director made the drama They wanted. They “squeezed” the oxygen out of every scene leaving nothing left for the viewer. Jin Young gave a stellar performance giving we the audience something to hold onto. A shout out to Kang Shin ll who with limited dialogue gave a performance of a master at work. He’s already in my heart with the numerous roles he’s played. Now to the inevitable discussion of the female lead, Kim Min Ju. She(the character or actress?) was one who irritated me from the start and ultimately one I came to loathe. Occasionally get to this point and hate it as I don’t want to bad mouth cast members…ever! But this drama, this alleged “art film”, was pure punishment for the viewer who came with honorable intentions. The beautiful music and scenery was even a contrasting mockery of the sadistic narrative. For myself, I found nothing redeeming but sadness and torture here. Sorry to all and myself as a viewer as well,
TwiceEnjoyer Apr 03 2026 7:28 am Jin Young is doing a great job (as he usually does) but his character Yeon Tae-Seo needs to move on, he deserves way better than her. She has her own problems but that doesn't give her the right to wrong his feelings over and over again. So in the end I strongly hope that they don't end up together.
Febianirey Mar 30 2026 8:03 am 8episodes already. I bet this scenario inspired by a true story of somebody! Quit interesting, dragging a little bit. My comments for the rating, maybe it's from the cast selection. If I'm correct almost 60% cast from BH Entertainment artist (Lee byung hyun CEO). May be it's not interesting for the Koreans to saw the cast, especially FL (ML-Jin Young Okay). I think Min-Ju not fitted for the roles, She acting quit flat, lack of interpretation, but not bad. If the producer want more serious, They should take other BH artists such as Park Bo-Young/Kim Go Eun. I'm aware maybe because of budget they can't hired those artists. But others maybe fit such as : Jeon Jeong Seo, Kim So Hyun, or Kim Se Jong. It'll uplift the ratings I guess! Overall I enjoyed it.
Imer Remi Mar 29 2026 11:52 am It is very slow and heartwrenching to watch. The ratings are low and I quite understand why but FL is clearly suffering from a depression/is depressive and ML is weighed down by stress and the fact she is secretive, doesnt support him, doesn´t set boundaries...Plenty red flags. I am hoping he will date the name tags girl.
Liquette marie pierre Mar 29 2026 9:53 am ..Loving this slow sensitive pace and beautiful acting..
No shine Mar 29 2026 4:09 am I wonder if Seong Chan create all the bad situations so Eun A has to depend on him? If so then he deserves to be with her...end of story.
JayKay Mar 28 2026 8:54 pm This was a slow burn but I really liked the first half but I’m losing interest mainly because the FL character has completely lost steam. She was so lively in the first half and I understand she’s had some trauma/drama but it’s like she’s completely out of it. No expressions or emotions. Totally monotone and boring. Why is she portrayed this way. I really loved this actress in ‘undercover High School’ so I’m sure this is how the character is written but her low energy put me and hubby to sleep in episode 7. Not sure if I can finish this one.
Orcinus Mar 28 2026 7:31 pm I just finished watching episodes 7–8, and wow… my heart feels so hurt and heavy. I really love Kim Min-ju, but I’m sorry—when it comes to Mo Eun-a, I didn’t like her in episode 8. Why? Because Eun-a didn’t keep the boundaries with her ex. Tae-seo, on the other hand, did. He kept clear boundaries with Im A-sol, the girl who liked him. For example, when they were eating together, Tae-seo answered a call from Eun-a and said, “This is my girlfriend.” Meanwhile, did Eun-a ever clearly admit to her ex that she already had a boyfriend? As far as I know, she never did—or maybe I missed it, so please correct me if I’m wrong.
I feel really sorry for Tae-seo—with his job and his family problems, he must be so exhausted. And just when he needed Eun-a to lean on and share his feelings, he instead caught her still being involved with her ex. In that moment, my chest felt so tight… really, and so heavy.
I completely agree with their breakup. Tae-seo has suffered enough. I don’t know how the last two episodes will turn out, but I’m sorry—Yeon Tae-seo deserves someone better than Mo Eun-a.
Olya_1004 Mar 28 2026 1:48 am I've been loving this drama so far. Yes it's slow but that's the point,it's not meant to be rushed moving from one twist to the other. It's a sweet love story and I love the chemistry of the main leads. There's something very heartwarming about this drama and I find myself relating to both characters in different ways. Being in my early 30s and struggling to find my place in the world and feeling like I'm behind my peers, this drama helps me feel better.
@Jolline LaMond Kdramas are famously not passionate and that's fine. South Korea is still behind on that part and they are more conservative. I personally find these types of relationships sweeter, the romance builds up and the goal isn't always to get into bed. There's plenty of shows/movies in the world that move faster in that regard but watching people actually enjoying each other's company without trying to sleep with each other is nice in this world. You should try watching "Spring Fever" they do have a steamy scene there.
Kelly Mar 25 2026 10:31 am I agree. This series is not for everyone. Personally, its not the young love sweet love cute story that I like. Someone mentioned that it has the Summer Strike aura. Yes it does, because of the countryside and library setting. But i love Summer Strike far more tjan this. I love the ost though.
Jolline LaMond Mar 22 2026 10:07 am I love KDramas. But the depiction of most female sexuality is like watching someone who doesn't really like it. Granted I live in Southern California and have a different relationship with sex but still the lack of passion doesn't feel real. I keep going to the screen: put your arms around him. The productions are first rate. The acting is great. The actors - male and female - are also great to look at. But as the Korean films are more passionate in their love scenes the TV lacks except for a few like "When the Phone Rings". The Chinese are worse plus they way too long. The Japanese fall in beetween. My fave "Crash Landing" is perfect except for one scene in Ep 11 that is emblematic of what I'm talking about. They meet in the street and she takes him to a coffee shop instead of home to bed. Comon.
Remz Mar 20 2026 3:07 pm Done watching episode 6 and next saturday is way too long to wait. It's getting in my head. A lot is going in between. I totally appreciate Jin Young now. I watched him in Our Unwritten Soul and drove me over this drama. Looking forward more of his project.
Kyuu Mar 19 2026 5:50 pm Thìs drama isn’t for everyone but I can appreciate a love drama like this once you’re more mature, it reminds me of the Japanese anime 5 Centimeters per Second for some reason
Rìgh Innse Gall (Lord of The Isles) Mar 19 2026 8:09 am Very slow and predictable but I'm still watching in case it surprises me.
Peace Mar 17 2026 4:14 am The vibe reminds me of summer strike, I like how calming it is
Nagihaen Mar 16 2026 12:58 am I’ve seen some comments saying this K-drama is boring. I respect that, some films and series simply don’t appeal to everyone. But there are also stories that quietly feed the heart, and this drama is one of them. I watch every scene without skipping or speeding it up. In the middle of life’s constant rush, it’s like a little pocket of time I set aside just for myself, watching quietly and calmly, really feeling the emotions of each character. I had watched the writer’s previous drama and film as well, and I noticed the same thing there. The same simplicity and genuine emotions drawn from everyday life. The casting is also excellent. And Park Jinyoung! You made me cry again.? But I actually love that.I’m really glad I started watching it. Now I find myself looking forward to every Friday♡
Furry Mar 14 2026 12:08 am Good chemestry, i like it
Patrick Mar 13 2026 8:05 pm Very boring, I watched nearly all kdrama , but can't go thru Ep 1 ,FL looked cute , good ML but still can't make it
cipa Mar 08 2026 9:10 pm As someone who has watched K-dramas for 15 years, I can proudly say he’s a good actor. If he’s in the cast lineup, I’m sure the drama will be great. I love his chemistry with Kim Minju, they really make me kick my feet and feel butterflies, like it’s my own love story. Park Jinyoung also portrayed a grieving kid so well, and it hurt me so much watching it. I can’t wait for the next episode!
Kendall Mar 07 2026 6:18 pm This drama is so cute! Only 2 episodes are out and I’m hooked! I personally really love dramas about past lovers reuniting. Kim min ju is so adorable I love her character! Jin young is also super cute and I’m loving the chemistry! The storyline is pretty calm right now but not boring, I’m so excited for next week’s episodes I’m really happy they drop both episodes on Friday!(MINOR SPOILER) I’m so interested in what future them is like and how they’ll reunite
deantrbl Feb 04 2026 7:20 am anticipate this drama to be good to watch! it seems remind me of "Chocolate" & "When The Weather Is Fine" kinda romantic melodrama vibes, can't wait!
Kath Jan 29 2026 8:59 pm High anticipation for this drama!! Watching the video teaser gives me butterflies already!! Omg! This couple looks so lovely together, they also look so helplessly in love! I can’t wait for it to air!!
