Sawako (Ryoko Hirosue) was dumped by her husband and since then she has raised her three sons alone. One day, she happens to meet a young man (Sota Fukushi) who is dying. She falls in love with him at first sight. The young man also suffers from memory loss. Sawako names him Hoshio. Taking advantage of his memory loss, she decides to make him live with her and as the father of her three sons.
Now, Sawako, her three sons, her grandmother and Hoshio all live together. Sawako hopes Hoshio never regains his memory. Hoshio also begins to develop feelings for her. Whenever Sawako has troubles, Hoshio helps her out with his mysterious ability. Hoshio's past is also a mysterious. A mystery that is finally revealed.

RekkA Jul 16 2022 3:37 am I watch starman a while ago even it's old but recently finished but shock Ryusei Onishi become lead actor in Kanojo-okarishimasu live action as i watching the anime as season 2 roll out now. Im in episode 2 of raw live series of Rent A Girlfriend. Naniwa Danshi song played on the background end of ep2.

Lauri Mar 13 2017 1:54 pm This is actually a remake of a 1984 American movie named Starman with Jeff Bridges and Karen Allen. The story is altered a little but basically the same story line.

Hannah Sep 13 2015 9:53 am lol i thought on watching this but after read all the comments, i might pass this.. lmao XD sota fukushi is hot but his acting still lacking but i'm sure he will improve slowly and be another great actor in the future.. i love watching him in 'yowakutemo katemasu' & 'enoshima prism' thou plus he is just so hot af in 'say I love you'..
marzy Oct 08 2014 8:11 am the worst drama ever! i watched the first ep and was very bad then forced myself to watch the 2nd and 3rd ep! i could just kill myself! the girl is totally overacting and annoying, she is trying to be a funny, young, cute girl.... and horribly failing! i wish it was just boring... it was very annoying and horrible! the story is stupid and nonsense !

It started out nice that and was running well until this stupid alien scenario arrived. Its a waste of perfect story sequence. It could have been a great melodrama if there was no such thing as alien.. Its really stupid, Nothing makes sense. I was barely able to finish it. Cinematography was OK, but casting was the main issue.. Actors seems inexperienced with the situations here. The only reason i started watching this because of the interesting plot in the synopsis. I never expected it to be this worst. I will give it 4/10.
Tomoko Sep 10 2013 8:50 am Couldn't finish it - it's boring. I thought I would be able to finish it because of Fukushi Sota, who's totally hot, but he's still a newbie when it comes to acting. Plot is weak and totally not plausible, acting weak. Don't watch.
Ozmo Sep 09 2013 6:22 pm So much more should have been made of this drama. The storyline is weak and repetitive. Hoshio is cute, Sawa is annoying. No chemistry at all between them, their relationship is unbelievable. I enjoyed Shigeta and Usui. Great theme song. The only reason I kept watching was to get more of Sota, a young Japanese Keanu Reeves; totally gorgeous and mesmerising is any scene. This is definitely a drama made for children's viewing.

dramafan6 Aug 15 2013 4:41 pm Well, I have seen Overboard and the 1984 Starman . There are some similarites. There is so much more humor laced with a bit of deception and science fiction. I won't spoil this for you but if you keep watching you will like what you see on the screen.It is great fun.There are more characters here to muse about. I love it!!! I want a Hoshio too!!!!!!

Apollo Jul 11 2013 3:18 pm Their is actually an American movie called "Starman" with a similar plot however in the movie the alien know who he is while this one doesn't remember. I saw the 1st episode and I find it a good family drama.
Gyo Jul 11 2013 12:01 pm I disagree with Tori who if you are going to find this drama then why watch it? And I don't think it's like Overboard at all, actually it's much better than that movie. And di you not read the summary? He has amnesia. Hell, someone could tell the man he's a flying monkey and he wouldn't be able to disagree since he has wait for it....NO MEMORIES.
I watched the first episode and it's adorable. I honestly hope you don't watch it with me Tori because your negativity is just not needed for a cute wacky drama like this. Have a nice day. ^^
Tori May 07 2013 11:01 pm First off this reminds me of American movie 'Overboard' where the man tricks woman into thinking she is the mother of his 4 troublesome boys but eventually fall in love with each other through the process.
Second, who could believe a 20 year old could be the father to her 3 sons unless they are all under 4 years old and THEN if that was true she would have to be considered a pedophile...unless that's Japan's intention, then carry on.
No hard feelings. Gonna still watch it cause I actually like older women getting younger LEGAL guys and Ryoko is lucky cause Sota is hot but the plot seems a little weak in my opinion.
