A love story between Ki Seon-Gyeom (Yim Si-Wan) and Oh Mi-Joo (Shin Se-Kyung).
Ki Seon-Gyeom was once a popular sprinter for the national team. Due to a case, he quit the sport. He then begins to work as a sports agent. Meanwhile, Oh Mi-Joo writes subtitle translations for movies. She was thrilled when she first she her name as a translator during the end credits. She meets Ki Seon-Gyeom, who just quit being a sprinter. She feels they were destined to meet.
Seo Dan-A (Sooyoung) is the CEO of a sports agency. She is the only child of a man who runs the Seomyung Group. Because of her gender, she is pushed back on the list of potential successors to the Seomyung Group. She lives fiercely to take back what originally belonged to her. Lee Young-Hwa (Kang Tae-Oh) then appears in her life. He is a university student, majoring in art. He likes movies and croquis drawing.

Magda USA Jun 19 2025 6:48 pm This is my second time watching, Run On, and I love it! All cast members are great! Especially the 4 main characters. Both male main characters are sooooo good looking! Yum Si Wan, is so beautiful! He’s really good looking! Both female lead actress are beautiful! And all supporting cast great! It’s a good Plot and keeps giving. Worth watching a third time soon!
Kdrama Llama Jan 27 2025 7:31 am A nice show that did what I needed it to do at the time, an easy watch that makes me smile. I liked the ML and FL, how they’d both had tough childhoods for totally different reasons and the growth of their relationship over time. Very cute. The 2ML was also a favourite but I found his love interest a bit one note I.e. really mean almost all of the time!
I think this is the first show I could really notice the “write as they shoot” approach to KDramas, the first few episodes felt tighter and things got more unfocused as time went on, I personally don’t think there was enough to the second lead couple to carry the show, no significant family or friends outside of the lead couple so not enough colour and texture to them… That said, I did love Mr Jeong and his cat, there are some standout songs on the soundtrack too (which I’m listening to now!).
Kels M Dec 13 2024 11:29 pm Decent KDrama the 2nd leads were much more exciting with undeniable chemistry. I really would’ve preferred if they were the first leads personally. so the leads of the show were quite boring to me and I’m not sure if it had to do with the writing or the actors I feel like in this particular case it had to do with the actors they were a bit dry and I don’t know I just didn’t believe them. Also, I wish it was more of a plot. It just seemed to be going into multiple smaller plots and kind of made the story confusing. Plus, I didn’t understand the role of some of the supporting characters. It was a fun watch with a really good actors and fantastic fashion however, I feel like he lacked substance. I would not watch again that’s just my personal opinion and I feel like towards the end. I had to rewrite some of the endings because I was kind of annoyed with how the show ended. Solid 4 out of 10.

Just looking at the cast, I see such wonderful talent throughout the entire show. There are some slow areas however, the actors in these scenes carries it through well enough so as to not tempt the viewer to change the channel or at least hit fast forward. Run On is shot in the unmistakable style of Korean Rom-coms. The lead actors are the type the viewer falls in love with or fantasizes to be. Run On is a series that the boyfriend or husband can watch without his significant other and not be worried that his friends would give him flack for haha. 4 . 2 ⭐'s

Balance screentime between the main leads and second lead, not too forget all other characters involved. The happily ordinary ending, exactly how this drama should end. Overall worth of the time!!!!

Sampson Aug 07 2023 6:21 am I went back to watch this again for Kang Tae Oh and Shin se Kyung. But it is very well written and the sub titles are accurately translated and legible. Too many KDramas translate awkwardly then put them against a white background so you can’t see them. Love to Hate you, a new drama was badly translated then you couldn’t see half of it! Run On is a cute story, beautifully written and filmed. Maybe lacked a little spark but was well worth watching.

puren Mar 12 2023 1:38 pm What happened to the writer of this tv series? Also what is her actual name? Some websites says it's Park Min Sook while others say Park Shi Hyun. Which one is it? There is no other works belong to these both names? I'm just curious because the dialogues in this drama were one of the most unique ones among the k-dramas. I would like to watch more work from this writer but there is not info about her.
IMO Dec 14 2022 7:11 pm Enjoyed drama & all the characters. Worth watching, but noticed male characters (Ki & Lee) who have been emasculated male. Would women date these men who are sweet, gentle, nurturing & cry more than most women? Seems women could easily relate to Ki & Lee’s emotion. Wonder if men relate to Oh & Seo. Interesting characters, funny too.

Rc137 Oct 21 2022 5:04 pm Watching on Netflix. Good drama. Watching mainly because of Shin Se Kyung. Been watching her since she was in “Deep Rooted Tree” and “Girl Who sees Smells”. She looks exactly the same. Could still pass as a high school student. Not being able to comment on Netflix is both frustrating and a “blessing” (don’t have to read annoying comments by clueless film critics). Am at episode 9. The scene where Mi Joo argues with the Director is hilarious ???.

Rose Sep 22 2022 8:04 pm The simple but very sincere storytelling and the main couple is the best part of this drama and the reason why it’s unique and different from any other korean series i’ve seen. Especially the ML, you can see funny and cute mls in so many different kdramas, and he’s actually a boring character like, how can he be like that, yet he’s sooo strangely charming and sweet idkwhy. Somehow he’s intriguing in so many ways, like what’s so special about the other mls when they’re just too plain and predictable compared to him. Well, i think this drama deserves more appreciation and love. When it comes to acting, well the 3 other leads are good but Siwan is on another level, perfect portrayal of the quite complicated character for a korean romcom series.

Nice to see homosexual characters portrayed respectfully and not as a joke as they still often are in Korean series. At first, both times, the plot seemed a little slow but, somehow, I couldn´t stop watching and binged it both times.

The drama is so good! The actors portrayed their characters so well. The plot is also amazing, I think it broke the stereotype that men would always be the rich person in the story and the girl will just fall in love to him. Well, for that rich man and lovely girl stereotype, Run On doesn't have that kind of story which I really approved. Se Kyoung and Siwan are both good actors, they have a very unique chemistry and heart for each other -- heart that doesn't translate love as "lots of kissing scenes", just patting and encouraging each other made them good as a lead couple here. The two actors was able to create a more unique bond by just looking at the eyes of each other, eating fried chicken and watching movies together and supporting each other. Those things are just simple yet so precious. Their story is really amazing! Both of them are really cute and good looking, I actually have a crush on Siwan hahahahaha.
For the second lead couple here, well I'd be lying if I say that "they didn't bring tremendous happiness to me". Sooyoung screams elegance, meanwhile, Yeong Hwa is handsome! He looks like Jaehyun of NCT. The two of them are like oil and water from 1st to 10th episodes, simply because they don't get along due to Sooyoung's attitude here. But then, it seems like they love each other after all, the two of them just need some adjustments towards each other. I love the both of them! They are not cringe, and they also get along with the lead couple which is very rare to happen for a kdrama romance. I noticed that Siwan and Yeong hwa has a lots of scenes together as a friends, same with the two women. I just like it that there are no awkwardness between the lead and second lead couples.
I think the kpop idol here, which is Sooyoung's sibling, just needs to improve his acting more because he wasn't really able to convey his lines with emotions.
For me, I don't think so that there is any heavy scenes, all scenes are just good, of course there are problems in the story, but it didn't drag the whole plot. I really love it! I am also happy to see Ryu abel here! Overall, this drama is good and heartwarming.

Nice change from some I have watched recently which makes you wonder what is going on……………although surprised at the mentioning in the drama of a few things that have always seemed taboo in the past.
Jona Apr 17 2022 7:54 am Siwan and Sekyung's chemistry is undeniably soo good, without having too much intimate scenes. They basically has only one passionate kiss scene and yet still wholesome. But every time they're together you can feel the tension, the thrill. Whoever says they have 0 chemistry probably only watches romance dramas with so many skinships and kissing, and thought that that just the only source of great chemistry, lol absolutely not. ❤️

It would have helped if they had a back story of how she was entrained as a child to be so heartless and clueless of how she hurts others...I had to skip her parts at times. (I watch Dr Ramani videos which explain narcissism but this second lead takes the cake. She is horrible)...Then others commented on the wooden male lead...he also seemed to have a trauma from early on that a back story might have helped and when he finally broke down, (just as the female lead had fallen apart in an earlier episode). Instead of linking to his grief she came off as maternal and stalwart. She could have used the moment to bond, helping him see how much alike they were and that he didn't have to be embarrassed......I can only conclude that the writer has a thing about painting the women in a certain non vulnerable light...that said, I agree with other comments saying the other characters were interesting...and the emphasis on translation and precision was fascinating...oh, and I must say; I lost empathy for the female lead when she arrogantly manipulated him about the contacts which was made worse when she acted maternal as I already mentioned...I figured at that point she really didn't love him as an equal. So I just couldn't give her the praise I had given before that scene. I am forgetting why he would even fall for her.

Terry Dec 26 2021 7:48 pm Ok I really liked this series. I even enjoyed the fl for the first time and I usually feel like she is the least favorite in the series I've watched her in. But I think MiJoo was the perfect character for her. I also feel like SeonGyeom is played by the perfect actor. I just didn't feel like there was any chemistry between them. There was absolutely no reason they should like each other. It was just them liking each other. Strange. I also didn't understand the constantly reaffirming that SeonGyeim was handsome. He cute and there are moments when he gave JiChangWook, but he wasn't even the most handsome in his group. Literally every guy around him was more appealing looking, wooShik, TaeWoong, YuJin, YeungHwa and YoungIl were all better looking. I absolutely loved DanAh's character.
Hellen Dec 09 2021 8:59 pm I love this!! Very admirable leads,the lead couple, yeah they’re too good to be true but that’s actually the point! We need to adapt that kind of realtionship for ourselves, at least.. And what else can we ask for, for fictional characters, at least we can see such rare personalities in kdramas with little flaws, not toxic at all, especially the male lead. He maybe strange, awkward, but he’s very..very..very sweet and adorable,and innocent?.. plus, he’s effortlessly funny, and i can’t actually explain why, but he’s a fun to watch! and i don’t exactly know if such personality exists in real life but i think there is, somewhere..i wish... I just love this show, plot wise it’s not grand, no plot twists or whatever, just ordinary problems people face in their every day lives. But it’s still engaging and entertaining bcoz of the dialogues, characters and movie references and parodies, which i think is sooo creative of the writer. When it comes to acting, i find the acting natural and smoothe, i think Sekyung did a good job, portraying mijoo, no pressure, not forced just right.. but.. i’m absolutely impressed with Siwan. Like a lot of people think he’s exactly like his character bcoz even in interviews, he’s soo immerged with seongyeom.. the acting soo on point for the character.. i can’t totallu say he’s expressionless?..i’ve seen him smile, i’ve seen him got angry.. lol.. in ep 2.. and with some interactions with his father.. i’ve seen him expressed his emotions for certain scenes throughout the series.. but some are very strange emotions, and facial expressions, and that’s intentional coz seongyeom is such a weird human being.. he’s not like anyone else.. he’s surely giving blank gazes.. but that actually says a lot for a person like him.., which is enough for me to think Siwan is sooo good of an actor.. coz that’s exactly seongyeom! He created a solid and distinct personality for seongyeom.. The character is so complex for most of us to ever understand.. and i can’t think of any actor can play this beautifully and meaningfully other than Siwan..he’s actually a smart and effective actor...so in short, Run On and Siwan are both brilliant! ; >

Anna Lee Oct 12 2021 8:25 am Sooyoung is fabulous. About halfway through, I started fast-forwarding through lead story. Now, watching all I can with Sooyoung. She's best here. Loved her make-up and clothes too. May like "Tell Me What you Saw" better - we'll see. Anti-fan is fun, but I like her as strong, aloof, elite . And won over by younger nice guy.

The athlete lead actor and the interpreter are just a center of the story , the people around them are very interesting too. the ex-girl friend agency, the wreck family, athlete team ,siblings . Each character have their own story which reflex the real life that we confront it everyday but the director tell the "life sucks" story in gentle way.

Maggie Aug 28 2021 7:28 pm I love the first lead couple.. Loved the female lead.. Loved how she was able to stand up for herself without making other people seem less of a human.For me strong people are the ones that can stand up for themselves even when they have nothing.
Honestly i ddnt love the second female lead, found her rude.. People are calling her strong but i hate people that use money and status to walk all over people.. She thought she had the right to be rude to people but when people talked back she said they were rude.
Kuragari Aug 16 2021 9:38 am This was my very first Korean TV drama and the way they portrayed every character in a completely realistic way moved my heart. I loved every moment of it. Their subtle way of making us understand the love they had for themselves and others can hardly be seen in a lot of shows. When the story started by saying that it was a story of a nutjob, a loser, a psychopath and a piece of trash, it really delivered. The show didn't shy away from breaking down certain emotions which if not explained leaves gaps in our understanding of the characters. In some cases, even if we understand how the character feels, it makes it better and more relatable when these emotions are actually shown. It made me feel a sense of kinship to them. The characters in the show really cherished each other and helped them grow. The show showed how healthy relationships are and how we learn to love and understand ourselves to be able to love another. It was a perfect show, and I wouldn't want anything to change in the story.
Roberta Aug 07 2021 3:42 pm I am still watching this series. I finished episode 13. While it is slow compared to other dramas, that is kind of what I like about it. Mostly everything makes sense in terms of character development and why the couples fall for each other. Especially the secondary couple. I also like when they get completely melodramatic and somehow it becomes comedic. If you are willing to watch something slow, then I would totally recommend this just depends on the type of drama watcher you are. I liked the main characters, I liked how different Seongyeom was. While he seems too good to be true, his character seemed that he wasn’t able to think for himself and now he is breaking out of his shell. I liked that. I also really liked the lead female character too. I didn’t believe in the secondary couple but I really enjoyed them too. I think it’s cause of the way it was developed. Again, this isn’t everyone’s cup of tea but it is enjoyable and a chill drama. There are funny parts and dramatic parts.

First thing ,for people saying that male lead is boring ,these are the same people who wants male lead to be always CEO or something like mean handsome guy who always drags Female lead here and there and treat her like trash then fall in love. So if you want something like shitty and cheesy rom com then don't watch this drama to just leave bad comments here.
Second thing , for commenting on siwan acting go watch Strangers From Hell or incomplete life , if you are not able to understand the story or character of ML then it is your problem that you are dumb not the actor.
Third thing , yes this drama is slow paced but that's the point , you need time to fall in love and you need time to communicate with your partner.
Last thing , this is very beautiful drama and only for people who wants to see some real relationship story ,if you want lot of cute scene like any rom com ,,just don't watch please

Brenda Jul 25 2021 11:13 pm There’s no suitable actor better than Siwan to play as Ki Seon Gyeom. As a character who’s complicated and somewhat odd or weird, he played him absolutely amazing cos it’s very very convincing, that is why you find him too boring, bcos that’s what he really wanted you to feel about him. Even, I, myself got confused if he’s really acting cos it felt really natural. About being expressionless (which is for me, it’s just his way of saying “okay, I’m giving you my attention, but I really don’t care”), well I think sometimes actors need to exaggerate some nuances, for it to be more engaging for the viewers. It’s not being unnatural or not being able act. As an actor, he needs to creative to bring out definite, distinct and identifiable attributes of the character that the viewers will going to pay attention to, more importantly cos he’s the protagonist. Wether we gonna hate him or love him, or even make it to be too confusing for us. He wanted us to see how his expressions change whenever he’s with different kinds of people, by overstating his being ‘expressionless’. BUT, he’s really not expressionless all the time, you just need to look beyond on how he communicates base on his complex nature. So, if you truly watched and understand the character and the whole simple plot, you can actually differentiate his interactions with Mijoo compare to his friends and all other characters. You notice how he always smiles and shows emotions whenever he’s with his girl. When you say all his expressions are the same in every situations, I don’t think so, cos that’s not what I’ve seen. Sometimes, eyes are enough to give you the emotions that a whole face cannot fully convey. Siwan acts in character, by the way he understands it and show it to us. He needs to create the character of Ki Seon Gyeom, and which he actually did very well. He presented us an unpredictable character that made us confused of what he really felt, and left an impression, while having those ‘expressionless face’.. which is truly a Ki Seon Gyeom unique characteristic. Actually, the progression of his character is very clear and noticeable, even if it’s just a slight development, cos he still continues to grow, and it’s impressive on how Siwan portrayed it to us in the smoothest way. TBH, I’m not saying Siwan is better (or the best maybe) than any actor I’ve seen,(at least when it comes to his peers) but in my opinion he is on a different level when we talk about acting. Like, he has his own league. So, judging his ability when you only watched a single show of him, sorry, but it makes me lol.

Later, he slowly try to understand his junior Kim Woo-Sik and a lady he is attracted to Oh Mi-Joo. He makes a lot of effort and become more comfortable mixing with people. He is very sweet and patient with his girlfriend Mi Joo. He also care for his sister and mother. Thumb up! Shin Se-Kyung talk very fast in this drama, amazing. She is cute in this drama. But I dont like her character a bit impatient with her boyfriend and upset all the time. SooYoung as Seo Dan-A is very good. She has a high class look and innocence at the same time. Kang Tae-Oh as Lee Yeong-Hwa also good. He is young but quite match with Seo Dan-A. He is attractive, mature and considerate. Touching to watch him love Seo Dan-A so much. Bravo to all casts and crews!

His facial expressions Are All The Same! Wth! I feel like he doesn't want to be there and he's not giving his 100 percent, geez. If it's another male lead this would've been better.
Shin Se-Kyung as usual giving her 100 percent in acting! Her acting and energy are always on point and that's what I love about her. She doesn't disappoint. It just sucks she was partnered with this boring male lead. I hope she gets a better leading man next time. The actor here doesn't match her great acting skills and it's so frustrating. This boy's acting is the same in all different scenarios. His facial expressions don't even change. Urgh! I'm so frustrated.

Imagine inserting a bunch of movie references and making drama within a drama? That’s so cool! Plus, the perfect portrayal of weird and awkward but somewhat relatable primary characters, I can't understand at what point this drama became boring. The deep conversations and every single interaction between the Seon Gyeom and Mijoo, honestly, I never got bored.

This is one of the best k dramas for me and Iove the character development. The plot is well paced and refreshing with the usual plot twist that is characteristic and typical of k drama. I love this drama in its sincere simplicity in discusding about love, the way Touch Your Heart did, my other favourite drama. I am a new fan of Im Si Wan! ?
Jules May 29 2021 6:56 pm I don't usually leave comments on here after watching a drama but Run On is probably one of my favourite dramas I have seen in a while and thought I should share my thoughts.
I really love how the story isn't to dramatic and intense, even though there are some moments, but I also love how it isn't dramatic about the romance to much. For example, how the second lead could be attracted to the first lead and leaves the watches interested on who they are going to end up with. I also love the characters personalities and thought Seon Gyeom and Mi joo were a perfect match for each other.
The only thing that I would of liked added is in the last episode. It isn't really very important but in the last scene when all the characters are in the movie theatre, it would of been nice to see them all waiting at the end and seeing that Mi Joo translated the movie as she gets excited when she sees her name on the screen. However I did like how it transitioned from the movie screen to the BTS.
As I said before, I don't normally write one of these so I don't really know what else to say, but I thought I would share that this is a really good drama and I recommend watching it if you haven’t already seen it. <3

It’s not boring actually, if you would’ve just appreciate each conversation and will look up to the characters, you will be amazed on how realistic they act and the storyline is delicately portrayed. You will learn a lot from this drama, it will give you butterflues too. If you’re hesitating to watch this drama, thinking you’ll just waste your time, you’re not. You’ll regret not watching this.

Ki-Seon Gyeom was very sweet, and his character development is also realistic. At first Im Siwan's acting looked very stiff but as the story goes, I'm convinced that it was just the character he plays, because when he roleplays as other characters (in Oh Mi Joo's movie translation jobs), he was soooo good portraying each.
Anyway don't pass this drama, made me smile a lot. And hurt me a bit too because of the second couple and that gay friend. I'm torn jinjaa.....

Loved the relationship between the female leads too, it was quirky and fun. They cracked me up! Overall I'd give this drama an A. I appreciated the storyline and character development. I didn't watch it earlier cause I was too obsessed with True Beauty. Anyways, I'm So Glad I didn't go to the comment section because all the negative comments would have made me miss out on this Materpiece. Run On is literally the best drama I've seen in a while. There are so many lessons if you can open your heart to decipher the messages hidden in each word, each scene, each action. Im Si Wan is an amazing actor. He easily portrayed his feelings with his eyes. He had a different emotion for each situation. Of course Shin Se Kyung's acting is so natural and beautiful as always. Then there's Sooyoung. Like she did so so well. Thumbs up to her. And of course Kang Tae Ho. The entire cast did an amazing job. But most importantly, it's the OST's that caught my heart. I literally cried whenever 'sorry' started playing and the song is still stuck in my head. The drama was so amazing that I watched some scenes more than five times cause it was so beautiful and touching.. I lack words to express how awesome this drama is. I just want to say, If You're Still Unsure Whether To Watch Run On, Stop Thinking, Ignore The Negative Comments And Watch It Now!!! It's Definitely Worth Your Time. I'm off to watch it again and again. Bye...

M P Mar 24 2021 12:47 am One of my favorite dramas ever. The dialogue and acting were amazing. It was just so well crafted. It’s definitely on a much higher level than most dramas I’ve watched. There’s symbolism, foreshadowing - a lot going on. I think I would have to watch it again to really dig into all of it. For people who are saying this is boring, I’m a bit baffled. I’m now a huge fan of Im Siwan. What a wonderful job he did breathing life into a unique character. I did not expect to enjoy this as much as I did. Hopefully you like it as much as I have.

Wonderfully and beautifully made Mar 18 2021 12:44 am I'm at episode 10 and I am so glad I ignored the negative comments and just started this series. This kdrama does not have an original story nor unique plot but it certainly is elegantly different from your usual romance or slice-of-life kdrama. I think the leads are perfect, the second leads could have a series on their own. The bickering is funny hilarious and does not seemed forced. I will be stalking writer Park Min Sook. Apparently, she's a junior writer under Kim Eun Sook who brought us DOST, Goblin and TKEM. This is her first work and I can't wait for her next project!

While if you here for main lead moment of mi joo and yeon I suggest to watch rookie historian instead of this one. Lastly the idea/thought of this series is simple and if you want to know it juat watch it. Also as we all know this series can be either good/bad it depends on our series adventure satisfactions, but for me this is just like Record of Youth.

Not all heroes have to be strong-headed and rough but men can also be fragile. You can't stay cheerful everytime after experiencing the muds of life and that is portrayed here well. You won't always fall in love at first sight but it is bonded through deep conversations, friendship and similarities.

I mean i feel like I couldn’t reach the deeper meaning of what they are trying to convey but as i watch more episodes, somehow i found that the drama has their own charm. I like the fact that the drama is very light nothing frustrate me (at least up till ep 10, cause I haven’t finish it yet). I love how ki seongyeom and oh mijoo help each other grow. And ki seongyeom character is actually charming. His expressionless face and his blunt talk, for me it’s shows that he actually has gone through a lot. He endure everything to the point he is already numb. And he still turn up to be a kind and selfless man. I don’t know how it will be if the character was played by other actor, but for me im siwan did good. I enjoy this drama. It is probably not my best drama but it makes me feel quite good.

The interactions between the characters was superb abd I especially loved the main couple. The second lead couple was cute too but I really like how MJ and SG always had deep ( I don't if it's the right word in English, I just translated from french) conversations about self-respect, self-love and just life. I also loved how all the characters reflected on their actions and admitted that sometimes they make mistakes. A really humane drama.

Seo Dan-A & Lee Yeong-Hwa couple really captivated me especially Dan-A's character, it made this drama even more lovable! Kudos to the cast.
hi guys Feb 24 2021 3:03 am i just started it. and i mean like i just finished the first episode and i ALREADY love ittt. i feel like so much happened in the first episode i’m not sure if that’s how it’s gonna be the rest of the series but a lot of kdramas pass so slow and this was so fast. also i wonder if seon has autism. i’ve noticed in the way he talks he doesn’t really let off any social cues, or react to situations the way other people do or would. idk tho it’s just a theory

I’ve always wanted to say this from my experience of watching KDramas for years: They never know what being professional is and take things personal, always making the lower classes kiss the upper classes’ a**. ? I really like the direction, the photography, the soundtrack and the plot is really very interesting. The actors sparked and I love them all. It's a very, very nice job!

I just wished that it could have a longer ending. I love that the main characters have less conflicts / dramas, and they instead gelp each other to have a stronger relationship. Plus theyre presenting heirarchy and LGBT issues which make this series different from the others.

Sentinel Feb 18 2021 7:21 am This one is a pretty light drama without much conflicts. The charm is the characters banter which often times funny and entertaining. Idk about his real life but the male lead's character here is uniquely soft-spoken and easy going, which I think is rare. Some characters refer to him as 'Yangban' throughout all episodes which mean 'nobleman' since he has rich parents. The english subtitle don't mention anything about this, but personally I think it was funny. Now for the second couple, I really like Soo-young's character here. It reminds me of my teen days when I was a fan of SNSD/Girl's Generation and why she was my favourite back then. I think her acting is so good, Idk why I seldom see her in dramas. In conclusion I rate this drama 8.5/10

I loved the fact that there were no love triangles, it was really refreshing. The actors were all outstanding too, so I applaud them. I rate this drama a 10/10! Also, I want to say that all the couples in this drama are so cute and that I'm happy that they included LGBTQ characters in the story! A lot of people hate that this drama is 'slow-paced' but, in my opinion, that's the best thing about this drama. You get attached to the character because it's slow-paced. And now that I look back on the drama, it wasn't really slow-paced, it just focused more on the character's emotions (and there wasn't any unnecessary drama that takes up tons of time), if that makes any sense. Anyway, if you love cute, non-toxic, romantic dramas this one is right for you! Oh, and it's not THAT boring by the way, so don't be worried.

They always give me butterflies every time they're on screen, I hope they would work again. The dialogues also had wisdom in it that the viewers could learn from. Overall this drama is so wholesome that it makes me too soft to be screaming every 3AM. I would also like to Thank all translators, y'all are legit talented and you deserve greatness and we all appreciate your work. This drama may be underrated but this treasure will soon blow up and get the viewership it deserves.

I cry happy tears every time i see the two couples together. I stay up until like 4:45 every night watch it. Best k-Drama in the entire k-drama world.

It's sweet, filling and so lovely! The characters are so well written, the dialogue and the morale of the show are highlighted incredibly. This is a 10/10 recommend for everyone!

Not sure it could happen in real life ?ha ha. I think Im Si Wan did best to portray innocence kind hearted introvert Seon Gyeom. His stares and blinks represent the personalities best. Surprise to see Kim Su Ho in the last episode. Awesome drama to watch ?

Meow Feb 10 2021 4:58 pm I would say Run On is akin to a warm cup of chocolate drink. It's an easy watch but makes you all warm and fuzzy inside. There are no crazy plots nor anything epic yet it's not a bore. The actors carry their wholesome characters amazingly! They banter and communicate naturally with one another.
What sets it apart from other dramas out there is the zippy and snappy dialogues. The writer did an exceptional job making the drama so enjoyable to watch.
Will I remember the story for a long run? I don't think so. But I will remember how happy it makes me.

I can drop it, in case I don’t really like it, even though I like Siwan. But that’s not what happened. I like everything about Run On. I'm also the type of person, who loves thriller / suspense genres and intense scenes in dramas, but it's just amazing because, even if it’s a slow-paced drama, and nothing too much is happening on the plot, I still love it. Really love it, it’s interesting for me. Maybe, Run On is really charming, I just can't really figure out where does it come from, and I was one of those who fell for its charm. Also because of this, my admiration for the talented actor Siwan has increased even more. I suggest it to people who want unique, deep, and meaningful dialogues. But do not expect to understand it immediately. Another BUT.. but, I’ll tell you, once you understand Run On, and its characters, you’ll absolutely love it too!

One day i found this one clip of run on when dan ah & ki jeong do meet after ki seong gyeom confess he assault his hoobae. When i watch that scene, dan ah character gave strong impression on me. I feel like wow this gurl is coool & it make me curious about the drama. So i watched it & i got so attached with it. The plot may be not so catchy but the characters in this drama that make the drama outstanding. Watching run on is one of the best thing in my life. I love main leads character. Their line also make me impressed. i really admire ki seong gyeom & oh mi joo character.

Since the drama just finished its last episode a week ago you can binge-watch it until you can no longer take the cheesy-ness. (I'm not saying that this is full of corny lines but what I know is that your cheeks will hurt from smiling too much).

I started since EP1 while it was airing however decided that “ah this is the drama you watch once it finish” since it doesn’t really has a plot so I was worried if I get bored to not look forward for the next ep so I continued around EP12 and finished it on time. Just nice, 10/10! Every character has a story to tel and you definitely can learn a lesson from them, OST-wise is good.
Dandelions Feb 06 2021 9:26 am I cannot express the amount of love I have for this drama. Please watch it if you want a chill, mature, warm and sense-worthy drama. The chemistry between all the characters is superb. The OST is also a bomb. The script is well written and the acting for all of the artists is great (loved loved loved Sooyoung here. She portrayed Dan-ah so well).
The drama talks about living and exploring life and relationships. Loved how it sensitively tackled aspects like the story of Ye-Jun (I ain't giving any spoilers lol), maturity and being different. It's really a great watch with so many lessons to take upon. Each character's story and the story as a whole were wrapped so well. It may be a bit slow-paced or boring for some people but it was really a gem for me. I suggest to watch the first two episodes to get the vibe and feel, and from then on, expect to fall in love with the drama.
Somebody help me I don't think I can move on from this drama. This would be what a comfort drama feels like for me. Definitely a solid 10/10. Thank you to all the people who gave birth to this drama.

It has made 2021 so much better and made me feel like I have lived my every day with these characters. Everything is so perfectly scripted and placed, i’m still in awe. It depicts the idea of self love so beautifully and doesnt force romance at all especially for the current generation to see. Highly Recommend!!! 100/10

Because the plot is very smooth and balanced with the stories that each one plays, I can really watch it just flow until it doesn't feel like the ending, and I'm really sad. many stories in this drama that give us lessons in real life, words that are so sweet as in the real world, the ambition of happiness, sadness, joy and complexity they packaged very well, the sweetest drama for me this month. but I don't know why rating of this drama is not good in Korea, even though this drama always gives a positive message to life. how to survive when we live alone without parents, and many more. I hope people will realize how wonderful this drama is. although there are still some who are not satisfied. I think the ending is quite interesting coz for me no need to show everything that happen coz it will make me us boring and waste of time. Thank you so much for makimy this drama. my only real complaint was the ending ep did not satisfy my yearning to know what 'really' happened with the main four leads. i'm glad to get a glimpse of the side characters resolution but not at the expense of main character development and/or resolution. ep 16 could have been ALL about Yeong-Hwa, Dan-A, & her family (i think that they are worth a spin-off show of their own); w/an ep 17 for Mi-Joo, Seon-Gyeom, & his family; and, to have a 'proper' epilogue, an ep 18 to handle everyone else plus a some time (one or more years, perhaps) in the future peek.
loved it so much but soooooo disappointed with the ending, i'm really thinking of writing an (unlicensed) americanization/adaptation of this story just so i can have Dan-A (princess & queen aspirant) have a meaningful relationship with her (peasant/vending-machine & future still-life/impressionist master) Yeong-Hwa (because, as everybody knows, it's ok for the queen to a patron w/benefits relationship with her favorite sponsored artist)

Made sure that the viewers knows what happened to them. I think thats the first from years of watching korean drama. I like that they are slowly adopting and opening up to relevant issues like the story of Ye-Jun. Coz I have been watching Kdrama for years and they are very conservative...that I will give it a thumbs up.
Juts noticed the advertisement of some product, i just think its not necessary on the last episode, should have focused more on the story but i guess its becoming a trend now.

He says everything how it is and says it in such an elegant way. Also, him standing up for others but not himself just shows how nice of a person he is. Siwan was right, the script of the show was so good, it brought this character to life.

Amirali Feb 04 2021 2:02 pm At different stages of life, different mediums or stories will be enjoyable. After an awful 2020, covid, lock downs... this series was just the right thing to watch. So heartwarming. It is a series based on reality or better to say the struggle of day to day life with the right amount of exaggeration here and there. I cried numerous times during this series as it hit so many mentally right points with me. The movies and series are not made like this anymore, it is not fast paced, you should not see this to find out what happens in the finale, you should enjoy it episode by episode as it progress. The story doesn't really matter here, its the interaction of the characters with each other and how they express themselves that makes this a great show. I could go on and on but I stop here. Anybody who struggles with life just watch this, it won't probably help you in any way but it will make you feel warm inside. I wish I could see the cast in person and thank them each personally. Also the presence of the "Good Boy" in the last episode was a very nice touch.

It was quite a well told story with many lessons at the end of the day that I Wud love to keep with me in my real life as I go along. It had all sorts of emotions involved- love, anger, grief, pain, disappointment on one another, trusting oneself, loving yourself and prioritizing yourself first and most importantly giving each other space in life. Loved the drama and the happy ending However, I haven't quite understood what remained between the second lead couple. Were they still seeing each other or they just became friends? That part actually remained unclear. But still showing a happy ending was a great relief for me! Cuz why do we watch drama? Obviously to be entertained and no matter what we always hope for a happy ending and thanks to the makers who actually gave us one! And the last few shots were the best where all the cast members were shown and how the story ended happily was just wow!! 100% satisfied and recommended!! ??

I am so happy with its ending and I find it complete and satisfying because they did not missed the other characters' ending. It is also fresh and new that there's no love triangle. One character compliments the other character. Good job to the casts, writers and director as well as to the whole team. Btw, Ki Seon-Gyeom is so adorable. I want to keep him in my pocket. Hehe

Loved the shows pace I started for the main lead couple but stayed for the second lead couple, the director and writer did a great job at keeping the pace of the story I’m very happy I finished and have to say that was the neatest ending I’ve seen in any kdrama (no looses ends left). To be really honest I got bored in the middle of the series because it's so slow and the conflict is kinda unclear (I don't think it will be that interesting to watch it in one go. It's better to watch it for fun if you have free time), but in the end I realize the messages this drama try to convey and there are soooo many lessons we can learn from it. It's a romance drama and you might be too focused on that part, but I think it's also a slice of life drama.
Run On told us that: - We can't control other people, not even our loved ones - "The main character of my life is me". Your life is yours! - Sometimes you need to prioritize yourself. Love yourself more. - We can't fully understand each other, but no problem. We have different background, life, and goals afterall. - It's ok to be different

I'm still in ep7, but what i can see is that the conflicts between them are not that complicated. Both of them support each other. But i can see that the female lead supports him more. This story is kind of refreshing, sweet and nice and the same time. Look at the ratings, maybe many people dont like it. But i like it :)

SPOILER ALERT The main character never have been loved. He doesn’t know what feelings are. Nor what loving himself is. He’s Learning. The lead female character has had a hard past, she’s scared of having a REAL relationship with someone that is so Unpredictable.
I’m sorry if y’all are used to characters that fall head over heels for each other. This story is about learning to love and to understand yourself First. Then, and only then, about trying to love someone else by growing together.
Refreshing.
This is how it works in real life too. Love is hardship.

I like both the first leads here, Im Siwan and Shin Se Kyung, they can portray the characters very well. You know I don't usually like Shin Se Kyung's acting, but in this drama, I love her! On the contrary, I don't really enjoy the second leads, every time they appear I just want to skip the scenes.
Overall, the drama is very nice and heartwarming.. Can't wait to watch another episodes

Love love love the ambience of the drama and character development of each characters!! For those who are saying that Im Siwan's acting is stiff, he's not lmao.. It's how his character is.. He's a very good actor. You might want to check his previous works such as Misaeng and Strangers from Hell haha But I like the 2nd couple more than the main one hahaha. GyeomMi and DanHwa couples are such a joy to watch, no annoying and unnecessary love triangles. It's a drama that promotes self-love and the importance of empathy. My most favorite character is Seo Dan-ah....She drawer all attentions to her when she's on the scenes. I like the development of the second leads relationship better.... The first couples are just boring.....I had to drag myself to go through the first 9 episodes looking for Seo Dan-Ah and Lee Yeong Hwa scenes... From ep.10 on, it starts to get more interesting when they gave more air times to Dan-Ah and Yeong-Hwa. Maybe I'm biased but I think Shin Se-Kyung has no charms. I watched 3 of her dramas and in all of them she was just herself. She is pretty and all but there is nothing memorable about her. Her acting is pretty boring....very monotonous.

Characters are very refreshing! And as mentioned by many, the dialogues and interactions closely resemble reality.

Yeah she has May and Seongyeom, but if something were to happen with either of them, who else would she have. She has not family to get support from. For her to survive in this world, she needs to be confident in herself, or people will walk all over her. It's not like she does not like Seongyeom anymore, she is just scared.

This series closely resembles reality. A mellow depiction of somewhat realistic responses to somewhat realistic situations. No under or over emoting here but there are lessons to be learned nevertheless. Love how the actors all do their part awesomely. Two thumbs up?? for all the cast and crew. We all know that this drama is fictional as stated before you watch an episode.The lead actors are leading the way and so are the second lead who are Soo young and Kang Tae oh. I really like their story line. I find it romantic and sweet. I like the way the actors smile and not pout always. Being a happy and nice person as being portrayed here is a good thing to watch. We see also the struggle of people in their work and finance.Sometimes you need someone to inspire you and push you to realize your potential. So far I really like the drama. Looking forward on the next chapter next week. Hope to be a happy ending for all.

Nawara Jan 21 2021 11:35 pm First of all, if you're looking for a light, non-toxic drama and not love triangle story, this is it. To some people, the drama might be a little bit boring for the first few episodes since the characters here kind of stiff but NO, it's not because they can't act but because that's how their character really is esp for the first male lead.
What I love about this drama the most is the dynamic of these four quirky personalities are interesting. Like, all these four characters are related to each other so there's no any tension/love triangle or whatsoever. The script of this drama is good and they have a LOT of deep and wisdom quotes that I feel like they really break a lot of stereotype in any Korean drama. For example, I love how the first female lead always highlights about self-love and stand up for herself whenever someone is trying to step or disrespecting her. I love how the second male lead character express her emotions (like crying) despite being a guy. I love how both of the female leads walk/drive home their boyfriends (usually it's always male character that does something like this).
This drama also covered from love, friendship and family despite also showing a peek on the lives of artists, athletes, translators, an agent, film production crews and even idols.
All of the characters in Run On have their own unique personality (even for supporting actors) and own problems that is shown in a perfect manner and not overdone and each character tries to give us a valueable message. That's why this drama is worth to watch!

I understand where Young Hwa was coming from when he got mad at Dan Ah. It was unprofessional for a commissioned artist to do that but it was also unprofessional for Dan Ah to treat an artist like that. Also, Young Hwa is in college, you can't expect him to just bite it and let it be.
Also, Mijoo was valid when she was disappointed and sad at Seon Gyeom. She likes the guy and is friends with him but he's distant and is not very sociable, which is understandable. They're still in the early stages. You can't expect them to know each others' feelings.
Anyway, this drama is chill af and I always find myself waiting every Wednesday and Thursday just to watch it right after it gets released on Netflix. There's the right amount of realistic drama and subtle comedy and very cute and diverse characters.
It could be boring for others but I guess they just don't appreciate chill dramas like this one. Also, Run On has amazing lines, the subtitles get the context but I feel like it doesn't capture how poetic and realistic they are in Korean. And I really love how diverse and non stereotypical the characters are :") i love strong women and cute men. The only stereotypical character is Seon Gyeom's dad but honestly, a politician is capable of that much annoyingness.

Its not the usual loyal group of friends relationship but thats what I think makes it realistic and very straightforward characters. It shows the harsh reality of life and work and the hierarchy system in Korean in many different industries and the scary power of money. Passion is usually highlighted in sports dramas but this also focuses on the harsh reality of success and treatment if athletes.

All I can say this drama is worth of your time, It’s not your cliche kdrama , the characters are very realistic and unique. I’ve watched many kdramas , so I was kinda bored of childish love stories or over the top dramatic scenes like love triangles . This drama has the perfect pace for me and their conversations are just chef’s kiss. So I send lots of love to this drama. Fighting !!!

Anne Jan 13 2021 9:12 am It's just a plain drama waiting for each character's growth but I'm hooked. All of their characters are crazy and insane in their own ways and I love them for it. All 4 of them have chemistry with each other and as a group.
Script is well-written. Some dramas who try to be "woke" sometimes have out of place dialogues but here, it represents people so well and it fits the scenes.
Also, Si Wan and Se Kyung's chemistry is just wow. Their relationship is honestly slower than I expected (also the case for the second leads, I need more of them), but I am loving every second of it.

I am glad that I started this one . It is sweet and touching . I love the two main couples . Women portrayed positively. Young, women CEO.
Just finished ep 9... it is a bit slow but you can’t help fall in love with the main male lead and also cheer on the female lead .
I would recommend this drama 9/10 for marks

In single episode they're poking several issue, like Parent-Children become owner-object relationship, fandom name, laws about stalker, social status, etc. @tasteful viewer agreee22222222 No need to act like boomer, conde, oldie. This drama gave us new vision about some old so-called-"norm" that actually not relevant anymore. Even on some part, they show us that everyone is different in term of view, understand and solve the problem.

Ria Jan 06 2021 9:51 pm This drama will definitely one of my top 5 dramas if it doesn’t get ruined during the upcoming episodes. It’s a simple drama with a simple plot, but the development of characters, their chemistry, dialogues are all so realistic and witty. Not only the lead couple have a good chemistry, but the four main leads have beautiful chemistry amongst themselves, be it the two girls (they’re always bickering) or the two guys (Seongyeom’s first friend hehe)
My favourite couple is definitely the main one because of how I can relate to Mijoo but the other couple’s story is also so adorable I can’t help but like them all.
If you’re wondering whether you should watch it or not, I’d say go for it! You’ll get to see aesthetic shots, beautiful character developments, witty dialogues and amazing chemistry.
I had heard that Im Siwan was an amazing actor and now when I’ve watched one of his shows I can’t help but agree. He not only changes his way of speaking but his body language as well. It’s like he was born to be Seongyeom.
PS. yes, I can’t help but ship IS and SSK </3 they’re just so adorable together

The main couple are adorable; not in a cringey way, but just real, a little bit off-beat, & heartwarming. The first 2 episodes go on and you don't really know what to expect, but after that you'll be completely hooked by their unique interactions. It also dive deeper to some social issues of athletes (i.e. Violence, seniority, & problematic system) in a poignant way. Just give it a chance if you're looking for a sweet romance with real human drama.

I regret watching this drama this early because it only means I have to suffer waiting every week which isn't something I don't normally do. This show made me fall in love with Im Si Wan's awkward and weird character and made my heart flutter every. single. time. They're all strong characters but Seo Dan Ah really stands out because she's so badass and also weird at the same time (randomly laughs, toys with people) you have to be quick-witted and smart to get her. I love the interaction between the 4 and am very excited to see Ki Seon-Gyeom's character to really fall for Oh Mi Joo. Ahhhh I just wish this doesn't go downhill in the latter half because it's freaken good!

There are a lot of annoying characters who want power, and they're plain disgusting especially bc it's literally 2020 and they see women, violence, bribery, corruption, and etc., as nothing and idek what i'll do if i encounter people like them in real life. But I love how the main leads handle them.

Not like the other recent drama who's a lot of people talk about it, this drama is so fresh with the script and the acting of the actors. I love the way the light-but-heavy conflicts fills every episode. I was not a so-fan with the acting of shin se Kyung and Im si Hwan before, but surprisingly I watch this and I enjoy it this time.

All 4 lead characters are quirky and charming while also being very believable and subvert the usual K-drama character types which keep things feeling interesting and fresh during slower segments.

It discusses many issues in life that many people could relate to especially the way other people treat Se-kyung's character. I really like Siwan's character, innocent but cute and most of all kind hearted.Chemistry is overflowing for the lead couple and second lead couple. So far, the story is good and can't wait for more episodes to come.

I was really surprised that there is a good underlying theme amidst the romance. This is like a good Christmas present when you open it and really understand what the gift is all about.

I agree it's not a drama who give anyone a good impression after the first episode. I just called it 'unique' directing? I almost gived up too but I don't label it as a bad drama directly. Shouldn't I give it a chance? God bless me. I chose the right choice. I start watching second episode and it's definitely so good. I can't stop myself to continue the next episode and I'm struggling for waiting right now. Scriptwriter proved that this is really unique and well written script. You can't find their characters in common korean dramas. Believe me, just try watch it until 4 episodes and it's up to you, you'll drop it or not. It's just so annoying when anyone concludes a drama as bad when you just try the very first episode lol. If you take math or stats at college, you'll be dump by the professor straight away.

There's overreacting for a lot of scenes actually & I just find it so Cringy & there's so unrealistic things. I'm disappointed that this is I'm siwan choice after the legend Strangers From Hell tbh.. I was waiting for his next work so bad..

What amazes me the most is the strong, mature characters, not just the mains leads but also the other supporting ones. This drama has a great selection of actors and actresses, people. Their conversations, the plot twists, sometimes unpredictable situations, visuals, chemistry made me rewatched the whole episode like every episode, Ive watched it at least 2x!!! And You Cannot Deny The Chemisty of the Four Main Leads!!!! Like wow! I really love the interactions between the four main leads, we're still in episode 4 but all of them have great chemistry! The visuals, the plot, the cinematography.10/10 Highly Recommended!!

In fact, she is unemployed in the beginning. But right then, we see her bringing an envelope of money, and buying a limited edition toy gun. How is that possible? What's the reason of her purchase even? If she meant this toy gun as an expensive gift for her nephew or for someone close, I would understand. But no, she buys it for herself.

Also, Seon Gyeom's role is like a robot AISHSHHD but that's exactly why I love his role because he's so adorable omg. And Shin Se Kyung!!!! I love the couple. It's been such a long time since I watched a light-hearted drama without a love triangle. I'm rooting for this drama aaaaaaaaa

I love such female leads the most because she is relatable. She is trying her best to achieve her dreams and find her place in the world. I just adore characters like that. The male lead is also good. He suffers from the pressure by his family but still trying his best. I liked how he remembered every encounter with the FL. can’t wait for new episodes :) great drama don’t miss on it

But honestly, I was so relieved that there's no love triangle in Run On precisely because of the ending of TKIL.
