I cried a lot because of how I resonate with the injustice in this drama as i too, experienced the same abuse and mistreatment from those I thought would never hurt me. Those who are in power abused their position and I was left helpless and trapped and made me mute of my experiences that's why I relate with their friendship and their strong morality
Park Min Sep 14 2023 11:53 am Shamelessly copy-pasting their homework from Police University (2021). Nonetheless, the drama had the worst combination of anything and everything which ruined any appeal for it. It would have been a tiny bit better if the drama didn't have any romance. Aside from the first 2 minutes and 42 seconds of the introduction scene of the first episode, this drama was a waste of carbon emissions.

Every episode will hook you up. This drama is so good that I finished it in just three days. The friendship of all the KNPU students and the way they bond is so heartwarming. The plot is nice, with no draggy scenes. A lot of the characters are new to me, but they manage to be memorable, and they did a great job in their acting, especially Um Hyuk (Lee Joon Woo).
Though I find this drama good, I can't say that it is an extraordinary drama. Not much of a thriller, I find myself looking forward to the KNPU students bonding more than the action. And the main leads don't have good chemistry; the only "couple" that I find cute is the tandem of Gi Hanna and Yoo Daeil. In my opinion, this series could be a 10 if there was no romance involved.

halflook Apr 11 2022 3:00 am @ Tin, there's a difference between discipline and abusive. what their seniors did in the earlier episode / cheongram training is both verbally and physically abusive. and what the fl had to experience was worst, I don't know about you but thinking how it was her first day at school, being accused of sleeping in class when she didn't and got into special training a.k.a getting beaten by the baseball bat. I'm glad she fought back. in the last episode there's the difference to how they train the new students if you really pay attention to it

I like it mind you, I just felt that the FL is too naive, I think everyone knows that entering police academy is not a walk in the park and strong discipline is implemented. When she entered the academy it’s like she’s so nosy and doesn’t seem to be respectful of her superiors thus I am quite annoyed with her, I understand she has strong sense of justice but unfortunately she entered police academy wherein you have to swallow it at least while in there. I’m okay with people with strong sense of justice and wanted to fight for it but the way FL is going about it is kind’a irritating to me, I like so far how ML is going about that sense of justice- strong and not like the FL who’s so baby-like puppy-eyed… Will still check if I’d continue as I like ML and his friendship with his roommates especially Daeil…

They were not easily intimidated even in the face of taking risks higher than them... At last They were able to restructure the system which serves as a landmark to their class.
halflook Mar 30 2022 1:50 am the main story is centered around fighting an injustice, so it is given that the main characters are seunghyun and eunkang who share the same value. rather than the sad backstory, it focuses more on how kids who just turned adults facing the real world problems and solving by themselves. they were clumsy but they know what's wrong is wrong and stand for it. their ways were criticized a lot by their professors and mentors but with their values and the guidance from the right people, they learned to become a better person everyday

I'm so sorry but Kang daniel shouldn't lead the drama. He's so stiff T_T I skipped most of his parts. You can actually feel the gap between the lead actor and actress. I love Daeil, he's so funny.

For those people criticising the leads, it’s quite clear that you have a hate agenda. Seriously, the 2 leads were great! Can’t believe it is Kang Daniel’s acting debut cos his eyes really speak to you. And so much chemistry with Soobin. The supporting casts were also so relatable and their friendships are so cute. I legit cried when they fought with each other and one of the cast died.
Definitely a must watch! 5/5 for me!

I love everything about this drama. It's so hard to let them go and I am still so empty rn. I was crying my heart out at the last eps .Kang Daniel I am sorry, I judged you too early. Your acting is considered good for a rookie actor, especially for an idol turned actor. Of course there might be lacking for some scenes but I wasnt bothered at all. I really like your mellow eyes when wsh was talking to Eunkang at the beach. Overall, good job daniel, you did a justice to your character, seunghyun. I hope you will still do an acting in the future. And untill that i will wait for your improvement. Fighting, kang daniel and see you in another project.
And for other casts, you really did a great job guys especially Daeil.Daeil i love you so much. How could the author kill you. If only you didnt die. This story would be so perfect. But it's okay. At least they still include you until the end of the eps. Again I love you guys. I will anticipate every cast project after this. You will always have special place in heart KNPU squad.

He is struggling while driving so he can't hear but what's the use of LOUD SPEAKER on your fone dude it's not like the outside noise can interfere your hearing. He is inside the car for goodness sake he knows he is in danger!!! He doesn't deserve to be a cop a brainless cop I may say. Annoying
Sindrick Mar 18 2022 1:56 am This is a crime related kdrama where the balance between fun and intense is well done. I watched this because chaesoobin is one of my favorite korean actress. From the start Im hoping that there will be a serious crime scene that they will handle and yes it happened.
This is one of my favorite endings in all the kdrama I watched. Action scenes is really expected on finale but they made it fun and exciting. You just want to see how they worked as a team.
I like that they are not just focusing on few characters but every characters has their own spotlight and conclusion.

At first, I never read any trailer/teaser and any synopsis about the drama beforehand, I just watch it right away. And guess what? I totally fall in love with it!
Amazing editings, overlays tech and scenery that fits well with current modern era. This drama has easy flowing story that makes you get absorbed into it and forgot about reality things. The music ost suits the situation even more and all of them has happy beat which can be use for study music, very enjoyful to listen. my favorite one is "Police Class" when Eunkang and Seunghyun are together.
I'm glad that having this drama on my generation, one of the best drama that always makes me smile almost the entire time! So much dopamine gained from each episodes, brought many positive things/examples to me to try out. The 8 divines character has their own unique ways to introduce their personality to shine, I love all of them! And the most important about this drama is the moral of the story, very useful advice of life can be received from this drama. There's nothing I dislike about this drama. Just Wonderful!

Seunghyun and Eunkang is the perfect couple, I legit happy crying at the end, they did get the job done and left nothing behind. A fully complete feeling here after.
I really love Daeil! He's like that one boy in your class that always makes you laugh everytime! Hahaha. But.... nooooo you don't deserve this Daeil! He just wanted to date with Gi Hanna.... why? Why class clown always has sad fate??
I think Kang Daniel surely nailed his first debut on drama with that cold role, keep going! Waiting for your next upcoming drama!

kdrama binge-watcher Feb 21 2022 1:19 pm I was actually waiting for this drama to finish airing so I can watch it all at once but I kept on seeing spoilers on social media so I decided to watch it even though it was only halfway through. I finished a lot of asian dramas in my 1-month semestral break from school and I would say after watching too heavy sentimental and melodramas, this drama is surprisingly worth watching because it has a light approach and you can just watch it with a relaxed mind. For those looking for lighthearted romcom with a touch of friendship and coming-of-age theme, this is your sign to watch this drama. I finished binge-watching all 8 episodes in one sitting! Very interesting casts and plot because it reflects some of the most controversial social issues at this time. Great lines and commendable acting from all of the casts! I hope this will continue to be interesting until the end. Looking forward to the next episodes!

if you expect your adrenaline to be pumped then you better watch dramas about action, demons, thrillers, psychopaths and the like..

and for chae soo bin. i dont even have any doubt of her. i already know that she is a good actor. i did a research on her a while ago and find that i watched every drama she's in especially in a piece of mind.
and for drama, i think it have a very interesting plot. i dont understand why people judge this drama is similar with PU. yes i admit that this drama have same setting drama but not all of the plot is same.
i think we should appriciate all the hard work that was made for this drama.
lastly, i recommend this drama for those who searching for drama that doesnt have critical thinking and mind blowing. just enjoy the drama. its really good.

Pimil Feb 13 2022 9:22 am For people who wonder how it is possible that we got 2 dramas with similar set up: Police University and Rookie cops. This is something which more often happened in the past but still is a thing in kdrama industry. Writers share their ideas with many productions company and tv stations. So synopsis of dramas are rarely secret. So when they get to know that there is in plans drama with big names or/and big budget with x plot they often decide to produce similar production to ride on its buzzworth . It doesn't have to mean that they copy scenario, they can as well just find similar thing in their not used scenarios storeroom.The most famous case of such situation was Hyde Jekyll, Me vs Kill me, heal me.
I also think that today streaming platforms and tv stations can plan such situation together because they still don't compete directly. This way they link productions to create bigger buzzworth together. And that's why we had situations when actors act both in dramas on streaming platform and in tv in similar time.The most obvious case of that is Move to heaven when Ji Jin Hee acted father of autistic son both there and in JTBC's Undercover. They can also have other connections like Squid game is obviously inspired by mangas so in similar time TVN released Hometown which is like love letter to Japan pop culture of 90s.
Not sure how it was in this case but actually rookie cups started filming earlier than Police University.

Bill Feb 11 2022 12:29 am I just watched it until eps 2, and yeah it's similar to PU bcs of the theme, but this drama is more realistic, imo. You can see the difference on how RC really showing the situation and strict rules for police students, the teachers firmness, and the set is really looks real too. Event tho there's some cheesy scenes, at least it makes the drama feels brighter. Well, i took "Midnight Runners" and "Live" as reference on how police university should be
Prero Feb 10 2022 9:40 pm Drama is totally like police uni same kind pf scenarios ,martial art scenes, similar uni drinking dinner event scenes, ml or fl getting drunk then piggy backed to dorms,blind dates, goify roommates of ml here are similar to pu ml's roomies,similat antagonistic characters. If a drama could lay a baby then pu is father / mother of rookie cops. RC is better show than pu, if it were released before pu it would have gained more appreciation but since it is released later and weirdly even scenarios are 95pc similar and people didnt have good memories of pu so this drama is getting criticism.
The difference in RC from pu and other tv shows is that it challenges the seniority and bullying system where characters dont give in infront of seniors. So far it seems main aim of drama is standing against bullying. Honestly that female actress playing female leads lovers gf is such an annoying character and way her cap is styled and shes made to look up from corners of her cap she looks like a psychopath than a police off who will save ppl. It is more like a civilian will ask her for help, madam help and in turn she will say sure and then kill the civvi.

It really depicts on what society are nowadays and the casting are such an excellent for delivering to the viewers perfectly and thruthfully. I really love this drama and highly recommend for those who are finding a drama that can strike a humanity for the sake of ourselves and also to our sorroundings and environment.
Xiao li Feb 09 2022 5:06 pm How should I put it? Same/similar storyline diffrent actors. Not an inventive or creative sequence. Cliché female lead, Cliché male lead and cliche ex/love interest. Also, cliché drama with cliché twist. The worst part that pisses me off is when they turn the good guy (one-sided interest of FL) into a rotten villain of some kind so that Second male lead soon-to-be drama's actual male lead becomes good guy and male lead. Somehow it is the k-drama law that men are pervs and cretins also if the female lead likes u but somehow u don't accept her feelings, it simply means u are the bad guy. I love k-dramas and I get it, there is only so much that u can do with stories. I get it but come on!! U have a competent cast and production. So, rack ur brains and come with inventive, interesting and creative dramas please!! Not trying to insult or mock u guys... Just want to let u know how I feel.

lol Feb 06 2022 2:51 pm i like the plot so far as well as the setting (i love shows set in high school or uni). however, the fl is making it really hard to take this seriously. she acts so arrogant even though she's probably the least qualified one there. it's still early to make a harsh judgement though, so i can only hope that she gets better.

Can't wait to see how the plots will turnout. So far, it has a light feeling, but also big secret/plot waiting to unfold, and love the friendship part as well

I like how they started the story pretry quickly without spending too much time on character intros, but still gave us a chance to get to roommate groups. I was surprised by the first scene because the trialers I saw for this were really light and fluffy. But I like the balance of fluffy and heavier scenes so far. Love the cast, Chae Soobin is amazing as always and Kang Daniel is a pleasant surprise. Love their bickering chemistry, can't wait to watch them fall for eachother.

There are lighthearted moments but there are also some dramatic moments coming up based on the trailers. For Kang Daniel's first acting project he's doing well! After reading the description of his character I was expecting someone pretty stoic but he has a greater range of expressions and emotions than I was expecting. His character is also very likeable. And of course Chae Soo Bin is always a joy to watch.

Plot: we get the introduction of the characters + how they adapt in college. We still can't see what the main problem is in the story.
Actors: Actors did a great job in their portrayals of characters. so I love it. looks natural. And to Kang Daniel's debut as an actor, it exceeded my expectations. We can clearly see his posture in training is so good + He's good with the expression in his eyes. and it turned out his voice was so deep + smooth... Like I said earlier, because it's still 2 ep. So, I'm wondering how Daniel's acting is going in the next episode.. especially when the action part. chae soobin with short hair.. It's really suit her and her character.

I would love to talk a bit about his character: I love how it was not stereotypical at all! Daniel is very righteous, a top student and the cool guy however unlike most other kdrama male leads he is not stoic or cold or snobbish lol in fact he is friendly (even if not very outgoing he still has friends and can smile and does not glare every other second like the typical cool kdrama male lead lol). He also can be quite soft spoken and humane (?) What I mean is he is realistic. SPOILER SPOILER****** When he confronted that trainer at the end of episode 1 I love how he wasnt snobbish or cocky, you can tell he was nervous at first and wanted to say something but hesitated, yet because he is righteous and he couldnt stand njustice, he pushed through and spoke his mind. I love that! I love how you could read the conflict in his expression, he delivered that scene so well!!
I love the complexity of his character and I cant wait to see morre of him! Chae Soobin was a delight to watch! This is my first drama of her but she is pretty charming and her cuteness feels very natural and not cringy at all. (I cant stand her parents tho lol)
The drama also seems very fun and engaging! I totally recommend it to people who want to watch a drama that shows campus life of Police students, lighthearted moments, very distinct characters that really bring life to the story (like each one of them feels so real), pretty good world building, hot guys working out in uniforms (xD) and amidst the light stuff there seems to be some drama thats building up and ut makes the story even more interesting. Apparently Daniel's dad will play a big role too, if Daniel idolizes him, what if his dad is not who he thinks he is? Just throwing a guess out there because I would love to see their ideals clashing, for someone like Wi Seunghyun who cant stand injustice at all, how far does that apply? Will his sense of justice be challenged? I really really cant wait for the next episodes! The first 2 were just sooo good

And just 1 angry expression in all scenes whether curious,furious,angry,confused,scoffing,smirking. Whenever he sees female lead he gives murderous looks as if he is gonna to kill her when he is only supposed to be giving her taunting and indifferent looks. Like take it easy bro she aint no north korean spy who killed 1000s by planting bombs ,just her sister is a flirt.
Chae soo bin and male dorm mates are cool and will have to hard carry the show on their backs . Mole in uni, weird professor all remind me of police university. First 2 eps were good ,hope it stays good. Police uni was also good till first 5 episodes then became very boring and draggy, rookie cops is also ggod from start but i hope it does not become like PU after 4-5 episodes.

And not to mention the chemistry he has with Chae Soobin, the two look so good together that they have already become one of my favorite couples. I loved everything about the drama!!

So Lala Dec 12 2021 2:08 am I love how dramas about university life are starting to pop up (again), even though they are still specifically about the police. We still don't know how this one will turn out, but to be honest, instead of making dramas about police university again, why don't they try to make dramas about ordinary universities nowadays because I think there's still not many.
We can still count them on our fingers right? Maybe I haven't watched too much drama, but today's university dramas I can remember are only Age of Youth, Cheese in the Trap, Weightlifting Fairy KBJ, and Law School. I don't understand why dramas that TRULY highlight the university life aren't made as often as dramas about high school, when there is so much potential.
I can't stop thinking about this after seeing the thread about the story idea of Vincenzo's college version, where Song Joong-ki is a university hockey player and Jeon Yeo-bin is a law student. I think it's really cool. And by seeing this drama, I really hope in the near future university dramas can be reproduced and multiplied.
