Byun Hyuk (Choi Si-Won) is a son from a wealthy family who runs a large company. He lives a happy life without any specific goals. He is confident around women and he is also naive, with a warm heart. Byun Hyuk begins to live in an studio in a poor area. He hides his background.
Baek Joon (Kang So-Ra) lives in the same area. She works part-time jobs to make ends meet. Baek Joon graduated from a good university, but she was unable to land a job at a company and begin taking part-time jobs. She is positive and full of justice, but her life changes when Byun Hyuk appears.

Where is his happy ending? He has to watch his "best friend" whom he accepted beatings for due to irresponsible behavior be with the girl he loved. She found out about his feelings and she took the money.

jaine Sep 25 2022 6:12 pm I was 100 percent wrong about this show. It is great. Yes I was upset about the toddler affect of the lead. Then I found out the abuse he had been through. If there is an evil system, how can it be turned around. I learned in every single episode ways and means to effect change and it is a revolutionary type love that does it. Like Never Give Up, this show is required viewing for the New Earth that awaits us. his show glittered with hope, sparkled with love and overflowed with joy! Thank you!
brian May 29 2022 4:03 pm Watching this now for the 2nd time. It's pretty well done and aside from the 2 lead actors, there are a few that are really fun in how they portray their characters. I love Hyuk's mother especially but also the father and Jun's best friend. The rest of the cast is very good but those characters have really stood out for me.

I actually liked this drama. It has its charms. My favorite couple was Yeon Hee (the flight attendant) and T 1000 (the cop).
The soundtrack was amazing. It made me watch the entire intro and credits every time. All the songs they used were a 100!
Perfect cast. Loved every one of them.
I'll watch this again soon.
Tom Apr 06 2022 7:55 pm This show is a bit of a disappointment. I don't blame the cast too much. The writer and director may be at the heart of the problem with the show. Lame performances by Gong Myung as Je Hoon and the brother Woo Sung as Lee Jae Yoon. Oh, then there's Kang Young-Seok who was the police office Jang Cheol-Min. Did the director make these 3 take tranquillizers before shooting scenes?
The excessive violence shown by the father/CEO of Hyuk on Hyuk is uncalled for.
While Kang So Ra as Baek Joon does a good job why didn't the writer have the romance with Hyuk mature a lot sooner?
While the show did have a happy ending it was the Kdrama typical soft open ending.
On the positive side Choi Siwon who plays Byun Hyuk was enjoyable to watch and the cast of the cleaning crew were good.

unknown Feb 17 2022 9:20 am I read all the reviews and all seem pretty dislike this drama. But its not for me. For the first time i watch it in 2018 and i watched it again recently and it's a very memorable drama. I still remember coming back from school and sat in front of tv just to watch this drama. It has a special place in my heart. The scenery of the small building apartment make me feel comfort. I really like this drama for no special reason. I just like it for the way it is and i also like the second couple lead chemistry. Nobody seem to mention them and they're one of the reasons why I continue watch it. They're soooo soo underrated! Hope you guys watch this drama with a neutral feeling before hated it or loved it.
Kat Kelly Feb 14 2022 2:04 pm I’m love this drama, not because of the storyline but mainly because of the actors, the soundtrack, and how they showed the reality about being poor vs being rich. I cried so many times because somehow I imagined someone out there is actually experiencing those injustice and hardships and it just breaks my heart. I love the actors. I fell in love with Siwon not for his character as Byun Hyuk but how well he portrayed his role as an innocent, immature but courageous and kind-hearted rich man. However, after several episodes in, i grew to love Gong Myung. I prefer lead males who are tough, smart and serious but soft and kindhearted deep down. This is probably why i was more rooting for Jehoon to end up Jun. I felt like they have more chemistry together. Regardless, i think all the actors did well in this drama.
Desirée Calitz Dec 14 2021 3:34 am I looove this series and cannot understand why only 72% of people liked it. Choi Si won displays a unique acting quality which reflects a truly unique personality. He definitely does not take on regular character roles, as is evident in She was pretty. He actually overshadowed the main character in She was pretty although he is one of my favourite Korean actors. Choi Si won is exceptionaly good at acting off beat characters. I don't watch American movies anymore because they are 1 dimentional with hardly any 'layering'. Choi si won's acting does not resemble American style acting, his acting is simply so different to any other actors's acting that it seems unfair to describe his acting skills as poor or American. His acting is a breath of fresh air. I for one, think he is a great actor who portrays his off beat characters to a T. You go Choi si won.

In fact I was just working at a daycare where a 3 yr old had exactly the same expressions on his face and would flip them as fast from sad to that exact same grin instantly. I can only suppose that the writer is making fun of entitled people who have no learning arc. Uff!

sushi Jul 03 2021 12:33 pm I remember watching the first like 4 episodes when this was still ongoing but didn't continue. Had a free time and decided to give this drama a shot again and indeed the first 4 episodes were boring and getting on my nerves. BH was really annoying, gotta give the writer the credit for portraying his stupidity this good. BH's character development was good too, I gotta give his character an 8/10 overall. Don't get me started with BJ, just a typical poor-nice-brave-not realistic and "you won't find another me" first lead, her mindset often times annoy me. Despite it all, Kang Sora was REALLY good at crying, thumbs up. And JH, best character for me, I can really understand his bitterness with the world and everything, thumbs up for Gong Myeong's acting, I could feel his emotions when he was bitter and could see his changes after everything is cleared. The cleaning trio got my heart, love them! BH's mom was the best of them all, love her acting and her character! BH's father was good too, he portrayed the image of a powerful, rich, and fck-the-world boss perfectly, his facial expressions were good lol. BH's brother, don't know why he was feeling threatened by BH from the start, even when all BH did was just fooling around.
One thing that bothered me was how unrealistic all of this, I know this is a drama afterall but I cant even bring myself to idk accept the plot lol. I mean, come on we all know how dirty conglomerate companies are and so naaah everything was bullsht, I'd prefer a fantasy rather than this ridiculous "changing the world" false hope plot. But the way they deliver the story was good.
I like the ending where they didn't hurt JH's feelings directly, BJ never really rejected him and didn't seem to have made up her mind yet with BH. Even tho getting your hopes high for nothing would have been really suck in real life lol this ending was enough for me. Not much romance but just enough romance I guess.
A 7.5 or 8/10 for me, give this drama a shot if you have free time and don't know what else to watch because you have watched pretty much every big hit drama.

KST May 27 2021 9:10 pm I just finished watching this. I really enjoyed watching this. This can be called more than a humor than calling a rom-com because it was not a romantic one though there was a romance for a certain extent. Apart from the story the acting was amazing. I have seen gong myung and kang so-ra in some dramas like dream high 2 and entertainer but this was my first time watching choi siwon in a drama. However I really enjoyed their acting as threesome.Although the story is not that much well knitted the story is not boring.I really recommend this to all who love light comedy dramas.Hope you enjoy!!! Fighting!!!

I stopped at episode 7 and I want all those hours of my life BACK! Shitty acting, shitty plot, extremely boring, overly exaggerated, unrealistic, I could go on and on. The main lead’s acting was so annoying. I loved him in “she was pretty” only to be so very extremely disappointed watching this.
The female lead is one of those “I’m not like every other girl” type of woman, which is just sad at that age. She acted like she was addicted to poverty. There was NO chemistry whatsoever between the leads. Idk if they were trying something “different” by making the male lead fall in love right at the very first episode but it was utter bullshit. Even the second lead had no chemistry as well with the Female lead, so I don’t understand all the “I had second lead syndrome” I’m seeing in these comments.
This is the worst Korean drama I have EVER watched, and I have watched A LOT. The male lead’s brother had NO reason to hate on his little brother, where tf did that plot come from??
I’m honestly just at loss for words, this was an utter waste of my life, I’m not getting any younger and I really want those hours of my life back. I honestly just kept watching cause it was so disappointing, I refused to accept it. When I tell y’all I have never seen such bull crap befroreeeee.. NEVER 0/10 would not recommend to my enemies.

I'm not finished yet with this series but I'm not seeing the chemistry between kang sora and choi siwon compared with the chemistry between hwang jung eum on She was pretty. But atleast I was not disappointed, choi siwon really delivered. He's really a good actor.
kpopandgrime Jan 11 2021 1:12 am 2016 /2017 really are the elite years of kdrama without a doubt; and Revolutioanry Love has been added to my list of unforgettable dramas of that period. The fact that many scenes in this drama were on a rooftop, I just knew this was gonna be a special drama; just like Fight for my way. Daebak!!!!!
I must say the Chemistry between the 3 leads was amazing; forget about who ended with who, there is no denying that they all made the drama very much enjoyable. especially the scene at the end where they are all hugging each other in a tringle; that was so heartwarming !!!!
Also Big shout out to Choi Jae-Sung; who is the coolest CEO ive ever seen in a kdrama, I loved his role in this drama. free him as well ; Im pretty sure every big company has a slush fund on the side loool, Free him !!!
For a drama named Revolutioanry Love there was not many kisses yet I felt there was a lot of love in the air, not kidding. This was a fresh breath of air and this is why I loved the kdramas during 2016 /2017; they actually had genuine scenes of love. Unlike all these new dramas in 2020. Thanks for reading all of that, I hope u watch this wonderdul drama and u wont regret it. Highly Recommended!!!!!

palpatine Dec 19 2020 9:31 am I have mixed feelings about this drama, although I enjoyed it a lot overall. I think calling Revolutionary Love a romcom is a misnomer though, there wasn't enough romance for it to be a romcom. The humour is great though, I think it's better as a drama comedy. I started this because I'm a huge ELF and SiWon is my bias and I wasn't very disappointed. He is a talented actor, and although his character was really silly at the start, the character development is just *chef's kiss*. He starts doing stuff because of Jun but eventually realises how important it is to bring a change. KSR does great as BJ, but I didn't quite understand the angle about being friends until the VERY end. GM also does amazing as JeHun but I disliked how his character was 24/7 prickly. He basically smiles twice or thrice the entire series. The supporting cast was great as well, especially the cleaner trio. So wholesome! I'm not a fan of dramas which have a corruption angle to it, and I'm not gonna lie, I started it for Siwon and that it was a romcom. I was a bit disappointed in that regard, but the ending is standard and I think the entire development is realistic to some extent. 8/10 for this one!

This drama touches the working class problems and how corrupted working in S.Korea if you dont have backup. In the first episodes Siwons character was annoying but he changed for the best and for his love,its on Netflix yall should give it a chance 2

Really? The mistreatment of people, from the top CEO down to the office worker mistreating the part-time worker, is not only annoying, but is inexcusable.
Sergio Cervantes Oct 13 2020 11:30 am Baek Joon is a straight shooter the entire Drama, until the last 30 minutes of the show. Byun Hyuk has become responsible. She is the most ungrateful person, after everything he did to clear her fathers name and help her out she abondons him. And as in most Korean Dramas, the man has no self respect and goes after her. I guess Korean writers hate respect because so many Dramas end with the leads losing all respect. Well on to the next good Drama with a shit ending.

CynthiaT Jun 16 2020 1:07 am This drama was such a surprise. Initially, I felt so annoyed at Choi Siwon's OTT acting..his character was so childish and unbearable. But I'm glad I stuck on because his character Byun Hyuk has the best character development ever in a K-drama. Kang Sora was delightful as always. Gong Myung did well too eventhough his character was always so broody and angry. I really liked Byun Hyuk's mom too, she was so sweet. Good writing, good acting and wonderful OST. Thank you Netflix for airing this!

Komal Choi Sep 21 2019 11:43 am Siwon's amazing as usual, so is Kang Sora. I wish the script was bit better so that it could've done justice to 2 brilliant actors. It was just like other Romcom dramas. Siwon has a lot of potential but he's never gotten a script which can portray his true talent.

I am bit frustrated and hurt when know jae hoon is not with baek joon. I just feel like I want to hug him. Lol.

And yeah actually I really ship Baek Joon and Jae Hoon. they like each other actually. I really want they end up together. this is because I have the second lead syndrome .haha.

Mel May 14 2018 10:08 pm after watching dramas for so many years, I never have had the second lead syndrome before till I've watched this drama.. man, this drama is so leaning towards the second lead where I think jae hoon & joon's chemistry is way way much better than 1st lead.. though I'm frustrated watching jae hoon's suppressing all his feelings inside instead of showing them out to joon, i'm freakin shipping them both till the end.. though as you all know who she ends up with but i wished the storyline would've changed..

Ca Apr 10 2018 3:23 pm I love this drama, the story is quite interesting, the friendship story, the chemistry between lead actors and actrees even the supporting casts.. Buutttt... if the title is Byun Hyuk's love, i can not say that the romantic story between Hyuk and Joon really showed in this drama bcos untill the very end Joon never really show if she loves Hyuk, i am hoping too see that till the end episode but i didnt really see it..
Okay, when they first kiss, joon is having a heart beat, but only that, the next scene or episode didnt show that joon grew feelings for hyuk and only focused on problem solving story..
at the end when they're on a plane joon didn't say anything about her feeling towards Hyuk then suddenly hyuk kiss joon, joon only close her eyes, even after that joon still didnt tell him about her feeling and only smile, aanndd even that smile didn't look like a full of love smile to me, the way joon looking at hyuk it was kinda like amazed (that he suddenly showed up) and happy but not love.. For me that makes the ending feel awkward.. But good job for all the casts..
pretty Mar 28 2018 12:47 am Even the series is predictable i can say its success korean drama because the business some of them are true and some of them its just a dream or fantasy that makes things happen... the of this Choi Si-Won & Kang So-Ra have a chemistry and cute as a partner.. Kim Ye-Won & Kang Young-Seok cute partner.. i'm satisfied in the ending it doesn't me leave a hanging. Successful to the cast and to the whole revolutionary love....
tazzzifz Mar 15 2018 11:07 pm This drama is a must to watch, storyline was very interesting, this drama taught me that we should be nice to people, whether they are cleaners or even office workers. It wasn't boring at all to watch this, I wasn't bored at all, Siwon did a really great Job. Although sometimes Siwon made me frustrated because he acted so dumb and stupid in the drama but that was the thing that made the drama so interesting that you wouldn't even feel bored. The drama was very hilarious, I really liked it. Looking forward to see Siwon and Gong Myung to play another drama because Siwon also did a great job in She Was Pretty and I can't get enough of Gong Myung!!!!

It would have been better if this was the plotline. An emotionally-challenged man tries to win back a girl,who he dumped unwittingly before, with the help of his rich and naive best friend.(Looks like I need to write a fan fiction on this.)

Cammie Jan 16 2018 5:46 pm I just finished this drama and I still feel like this is one of my favourites. There were some moments were I felt frustrated, but mostly I felt warmth. Not only the warmth of how the main characters acted towards each other, but the warmth of how Baek Joon, Byun Hyuk, and Kwon Jae Hoon acted towards their own families, the cleaning staff, and the other people around them. There were so many strong, unbreakable bonds in this drama, and even though it is just a tv series I loved seeing it. It might have been what I loved the most, to be honest. Not the love relationships, but the friendships, those might have been the main things for me.
Byun Hyuk was a very well played character by Choi Siwon, a rich kid that is led on the right path by his friends and does everything in his way to create justice within the huge company his father owns. Even though it is his father and brother that is behind the wrongdoings, he goes against them, not because he hates them but because he loves them, and want what is best for them. I really enjoyed that, it is my first time seeing this kind of character in a Korean Drama, and I think Choi Siwon did a great thing playing him.
Baek Joon is strong, intelligent and confident. I love strong female characters who are not afraid to speak up, and decide for themself. She also has a heart of gold, and I admired her through the drama. Kang Sora fit that character very well. Kang Sora is also one of my favourite actresses, and of the reasons why I wanted to watch this drama.
Kwon Jae Hoon, he was cold and made snarky comments a lot of the times, but I never found him to be annoying. I liked him from the start. He was loyal to the Byun family and stood by Hyuk's side even though he hated him. I admired this loyalty he had for Hyuk, and for Joon. I don't know, but I might have loved him the most. (Gong Myung <3)
I Loved Kang Sora's three colleges, who worked with her at the construction site and then as cleaning staff. They were so genuinly kind and understand, and I always cheered them on from my seat infront of the computer xD.
I did not like Baek Joon's mum at first. Just taking money like that... but she grew on me. I loved Byun Hyuk's mum though, I loved how supportive she was towards her son and always cheered him on and how loving she was towards Joon. Finally a mother like that in a Korean Drama!!! When it came to love... Many people might say Byun Hyuk and Baek Joon. I however kept cheering for Baek Joon and Kwon Jae Hoon. It made me so sad and heartbroken when I saw how Jae Hoon looked at Joon, and I just wished he would not have held back on his feelings. I wished he would not have held his feelings back when he saw how Hyuk was looking at Joon... I was so sad when he finally confessed and said that even though he felt that way he knew he had lost her... I love that Hyuk gave Jae Hoon an honest chance to tell Joon though, and that Joon decided who she liked knowing both Hyuk's and Jae Hoon's feelings for her. I still feel like the better ending would have been if Jae Hoon and Joon ended up together, and I will probably always cheer for that pairing when it comes to this drama, even though this is not reality at all and this shouldn't bother me because ultimately it was Hyuk and Joon that was going to be together and it was obvious.. but it bothers me... eventhough it is just a drama.. my "love" for Jae Hoon is just so strong and eventhough he knew he had lost and had come to terms with it, and would not be in the way of his friend, (like a true friend), I just wish... and one can always wish.. right.

Joy Dec 27 2017 11:32 am Really enjoyed this drama. Very light hearted, and Choi Siwon doesn't disappoint with his bubbly take on his character. Very similar to his role in She Was Pretty, but I didn't mind as much since he was my favourite character in that show as well. Kang So Ra stole the show for me in my opinion, the funny scenes highlighting her strong sides were always great to watch and definitely had me replaying them. She's also so beautiful! I hope to watch more of her dramas. Although things didn't turn out how I expected nor wanted, I hoped Gong Myung's character at least meets somebody. I didn't think the happiness he felt at the end of the last episode was going to be because of his new career and the weight lifted off his shoulders but I guess it also makes sense. Altogether the drama was paced out nicely until the last episode where Joon is leaving and saying her goodbyes. It wasn't very obvious as to whom her heart was leaning towards, until the end? Still to me they seem like they all got friend zoned LOL (hyuk and Jae hoon) I really enjoyed it though and am glad there was justice in the end.

Byun Hyuk is the most childish and “unbelievably” person lol, one thing keeps distracting me that was about Kang So-Ra make up. Played as June, why her face skin color looks different than her neck?, my thought was the makeup artist put different tone color of foundation on her face so that she’s look like wearing a mask, bit annoying for me lol, but overall Revolutionary Love is good, kind a light drama.

The plot, i like that the mum of the chaebol is not too uptight with family status. I find her cute hahaha. It had sweet scenes but felt confused as to who's who the girl is interested in. It didnt dwell on the main leads but it focuses on genuine relationships/friendship. Its a fun rom com just my style. Others might say the comical skits were too much but i.like it.

I was really interested in the story behind with his brother (love this character, so brural and son of a ...) and father. And of course a friend. Many things were combined and had impact on his relation with Joon. I love his kiss on the bench and I love that she just pushed him away. Till the very end I wasn't sure how this will end. Many sweet moments, many funny moments. Perfect drama for long, cold evening with a glass of wine.
It is awesome that Hyuk decided to help a friend and even felt so bad that gave away Joon. He really grow up at the end.
Yes ending could be less predictable in last few minutes. Choosen guy could come behind her back not hid behind newspaper. And last kiss could be hotter but still very good ending and very good drama.
Kwon Je-Hoon was for me mostly annoying but at the end he show he is pretty good too and was more lively. I also like Joon as character: strong, independent girl. And of course cherry on the top: POLICEMAN gosh his relation with stewardess was really addictive.

BUT it has a social message that is current and necessary. Love story was sweet and realistic. There are better dramas I've watched, ie. Tunnel. But this is one of my favorites!!

The story is okay but you don't really grasp onto the story until mid point of this drama. That being said, it's a very slow start and the characters doesn't seem to have an important role at all until like I said mid to late point of the drama.
I just didn't feel the chemistry between the leads. Seems more like a 1 sided love throughout this whole drama and then all of the sudden, the writer puts the leads together at the very end of the last episode which honestly seems rushed and a waste to me. If you want romance from the leads, you certainly are not going to see it from this drama.
Something should've been done about Jae Yoon's "mistake" that was covered up by Je Hoon's dad. I felt that was just swept under the rug. He should've paid for that mistake.
But besides that, the problems that occurred in this drama was resolved and I was satisfied with that. I also like the side couple more than the main leads. Just wished they would've gotten together earlier because they had more chemistry than the leads.

Hyuk in episode 15 will fight for his friend Jae Hoon and give up his girl to his best friend. But joona will finally admit to Hyuk that she is in love with him and Jae Hoon will be ok with it because he knows that he lost his chance a long time ago. All the higher cards are in Hyuk’s hands now. He can finally prove himesled in these last two episodes and I’m excited to see how his evil brother and dad reacts when they see that Hyuk is different from the both of them. It’s going to be epic!!!! Stay tuned everyone!!

Her neck looks different colour to the whiter than white face and hands. She is the most beautiful actress I have seen in a while but the make just destroys everything. Otherwise I am loving the drama. It has the most handsome hunky actors eye candy for the ladies even the robber was the most handsomest guy, plus the cop. Keep these handsome blokes, although I think the drama only has Joon, and Hyuk’s mum who are the most prettiest of all. More eye candy for the dudes please too.

He tries to hide behind a funny face and can't find his own place. Now I see how is he changing but still has problem with understanding that money will not solve everything. I like that he is such different in different moments. This is really sweet. And his smile is out of this world. I am waiting for next episodes I am in the middle of 4th but for sure want to see rest.

All the cast did wonders, the mom is so beautifully innocent. This is better than Temp of Love. My current fav no 1 is still My Golden Life though. But wish for this to be a 50 ep drama. Cos Kang Sora does not have muany outstanding drama. Or is there? Also watching Bravo my life, very good too. But is there any ither worth watching?

I have never been annoyed at stylists before but every time I look at Kang Sora’s impecably made up face, she reminds me of a stylish executive or fashionista, and not a part time jobber who is supposed to look more scruffy. It makes her character less believable. However I find that from episode 9, this drama getting more interesting. I had dropped it earlier after witnessing really underwhelming character development.

Si won’s character is from a rich family and rich families have huge pride so I don’t get it why Siwon’s character isn’t high and mighty. His parents has that pride and usually you inherit that because of the way parents discipline their children and you’ll get their mindset as well.

One last sentence don't judge from figures the Heart who decides, so please watch all her drama befor judging.
