JDramaFan Jan 26 2026 10:55 pm Very heartwarming series. This isn't a super deep, intense show, like you're not going to be sent on the kind of rollercoaster ride you'll have watching A Million Stars, but it's super nice and the ending will give you new hope in humanity. I love this show. Just go watch it.
Renwa Jan 08 2024 8:32 am Just a beautiful superbly written and acted drama. So glad it was brought back so newbie j drama fans can enjoy such fine work. The drama without question stands the test of time…totally relevant in this moment. Don’t miss this engaging quality work…loved it!
Darkdragon88 Jan 07 2024 12:44 am I'm definitely re-watching this because it appeared on Netflix! I have fond memories of this show and it's great acting and plot.
Chip Jan 06 2024 6:50 am If you're reading this wondering if you should watch it - Do! One of the better dramas I've ever seen, Japanese, Korean, Taiwanese! The writing, acting directing, cinematography are all tops. Produced almost 20 years ago, it is as fresh as any new series or movie. Tremendous in use of humor and inspiring on disabilities and especially deafness. Kou Shibasaki playing the femle lead, Sae Hagio, is astounding in portraying the frustrations of her recent loss of hearing and how it nearly destroys her dreams of once again becoming a famous musician. Her use of sign language is brilliant and you deeply feel her anger and frustrations. Don't hesitate, you wil Love this series!
Drain Apr 13 2021 8:16 am I know that this was done in Autumn; but every time I watched it, It reminds me of how good was the old days during summer. since we only have 2 seasons here. The atmosphere of the place is perfect! the storyline really connects. I hope someone suggests dramas like this and similar.
tong Jun 21 2020 4:17 pm i really like kou shibasaki...i love her eye.
Umi Dec 02 2019 8:34 am One of the best Japanese dramas ever I'm not even joking the storylines everything is perfect. Miss this so much
Lala Oct 02 2018 6:23 am I want one Kai Yuuki pleeeeeeaaaase T_T this drama is so good! Watch it guys ^_^
babba Sep 09 2018 2:56 pm Shibasaki Kou is so adorable here!
Mia Jul 06 2015 2:32 am Waaaa~ this is my second favorite J-Dorama after One Liter of Tears. Kai is like Aso-kun. He is there to support his girl's disability. But Aso-kun is more cool-tempered than Kai, and I definitely like Kai more. I love how natural the relationships in this drama are. Sometimes they do fight, they do argue, they do put their ego first. Just like in reality, what we are truly facing in life. And I love how imperfect Sae's character is. She is cute and talented, loving but selfish sometimes. And btw the orchestral backsound is very very nice. Really recommended ^~^
emunkz Oct 10 2014 6:39 am just finished watch this drama, waoowww... so much inspiring thing in this drama...
SisukaChan Mar 18 2013 8:55 pm Ueno juri >.<!
umi Mar 09 2013 5:29 am love this drama and the couple was just perfect..sae and kai
misso Jul 28 2012 5:47 pm I'm a huge Ueno Juri x Eita fan... even till the end I was hoping for some interaction between the two..;(
This drama is still one of my favourites though~~ PERFECTION!
non sibi Nov 28 2010 12:00 pm Let me quote what Kai has said when they're in an argument. "I cannot always do things the way you want me to, Sae! I am not a robot! You're an adult now too! So.. you need to take responsibilities for what you've said and the decision you've made!" I love these statements, Sae cannot take her disability as an excuse :(
non sibi Nov 27 2010 2:12 pm Just finished watching this drama. There is a nice feeling after finished watching it. Then I realized that one of the writers is E. Kitagawa. I've watched some of Kitagawa's dramas, Aishiteru to Itte Kure, Beautiful Life, Tata Hitotsu no Koi, Sunao ni Narenakute. I think she is a talented screen-writer and I guess she believes that 'love conquers all'. Tsumabuki and Shibasaki and also other casts played their roles very well, love to see them learning sign language. Life is precious....
Lenya Dec 15 2009 1:00 pm Really good. The couples are perfect ( sae and kai, akane and shohei). Turned out it´s one of my favorite dramas. Love Satoshi Tsumabuki as Kai.
mitzmin Dec 11 2009 3:51 pm The cast is Perfect! I guess there ain't any other to describe better. And the plot is very good too. I men, when I read it I thought It would be overly dramatic, but when I tried it out it wasn't, it was actually very fun and natural. Kou shibasaki and satoshi blended very well on their charactes. Although at a small part I got trully nervous because every thing was going wrong, at the end it got much better and was perfect too.
