Plot Synopsis by AsianWiki Staff ©

Sim Deok-Chool (Park In-Hwan) has had a life long dreaming of performing ballet. He is 70-years-old and retired from his job as a post office employee. Due to life situations, he put aside his dream of becoming a ballet dancer and worked a normal job to support his family. Now, Sim Deok-Chool makes the decision to pursue his dream again. His family, including his wife and adult children, are not happy with his decision, but Sim Deok-Chool does not waver in pursuing his life long dream. He joins a ballet company to learn ballet. There, he meets Lee Chae-Rok (Song Kang).

Lee Chae-Rok is a 23-year-old man. While growing up, he played different sports like baseball, swimming, and soccer, but he wasn't talented in any of those activities. He then became interested in ballet. His mother was a ballet dancer, but she died from a disease when Lee Chae-Rok was young. His father later went bankrupt. Lee Chae-Rok learned that he has a talent for ballet, but, after pursuing ballet, he barely has contact with his father and he has a hard time supporting himself financially. Going through hard times, his desire for ballet fades away. At this time, Sim Deok-Chool appears in front of him.

Kdrama Llama What an unexpected gem with a beautiful relationship between a young ballerino and an old man who wanted to follow the same path in his youth, but was not allowed. On retirement he decides to fulfil a lifelong dream and the relationship that develops between them both is lovely, life affirming stuff. There’s real light and humour in this show but an ever present undercurrent of sadness rooted in the hand each of these men have been dealt in the game of life - family, poverty, heath. Another sad love story with a difference, watch it you won’t regret it!

Disee Just watched it again for the second time and enjoyed it even more, twice as much. Beautiful story, perfectly acted and I cried with mixed emotions throughout the last episode. The last scene of them bowing to each other at the train crossing did it for me, it was superbly acted.

Judy This brilliant drama should have Chae rok referring to Mr Sim as Abaeji - grandfather, we can clearly hear him saying that, so why translate as Mr Sim??? Grandfather sounds much warmer, Mr Sim is too formal.

I love this drama, watched 3 times. Song Kang at his best acting.

Selina Brilliant brilliant brilliant. This is real acting. I love this drama.

One small thing. In the script Chae Suk refers to Mr Sim as Abuje (the spelling may be wrong in English. It means Grandfathet.

Jaylo Song Kang is just wonderful in this rare gem of a drama, unusual in so many ways, but principally that Song Kang really danced the ballet steps as tho he is born to it. Brilliant and moving. Actors don’t usually bother to learn a skill so well, he is tall for a ballet dancer, but he looks good and has built his body up. This skill will stay with him through life, he now carries himself like a true dancer.

Kim Tae Hoon good as a support for Kang, was also in My Demon. Navillera got much lower rating but was in fact worth more.

oswinist everything about this series is worthwhile and beautiful and I'm not saying this lightly. the acting was always on point, and I am very happy I chose this as the first series to get to know song kang's acting (he did not disappoint with his skills and the story wasn't the usual questionable stories he tends to have on his résumé. what to do moving forward after this story, though? it ruined me in a different way; it's too good! how can anything compare on his repertoire?). anyway, there just isn't much to say. is it perfect technically speaking? I wouldn't say so. but the soul of this series is gorgeous enough to overshadow any imperfections. this is one of those stories that words and pure objectivity won't be enough to measure, and you will have to believe what your heart is saying. and with this one, if your heart is in the right place, it will experience the most beautiful version of the feelings it is capable of feeling.

Pat Koehler I thoroughly enjoyed this series. I spent my childhood doing ballet. And now I am almost 80 and want to dance again. I have neuropathy in my feet so they hurt a lot and my balance is bad now but I know it is my own fault. However this series has given me hope that I can do ballet again. Thank you so much for giving me hope for my dream.

Rose Navillera... Beautiful storyline Passion, love, respect, wisdom, family, education, health, heartbreak, life, choices, trust, honesty...everything that is important in life is all here. Thank you Chae Rok, uncle Deok Chul, aunty Hae Nam, Mr Ki, ms So Ri, Eun Jo, Seong siblings, writer and production team. ❤️

Sandra Bekin International viewer here.

I really loved this series. The actors were so good, brilliant, they storyline was moving and emotional, the characters interesting and the music was beautiful.

Park In-Hwan was awesome and inspiring. I love the settings, lighting, music, everything!

Song Kang is just incredible and beautiful in his role as a Ballerino!

This is series is the wonderful. I love Kdrama.

Sandra Australia

Lee Wonderful story which really tugged at my heartstring. I like every character in the kdrama which is really rare. Everyone has a good story even the so-called baddie, Ha-boem. It really showcases the importance of empathy & kindness. What goes round comes round.i love this kdrama so much?

Park Min It's good enough but not that good! It's highly rated so it's only natural to get into it with high expectations, unfortunately, it became quickly evident what kind of show I'll be getting. As a life drama, it lacked the essence of genuine human connection and eventually dipped in mediocrity trying to achieve that artificially by adopting quick, dry and cutthroat life cliches lacking nuances, depth, relevant characterization and thematic attachment. Aside from the 2 main characters, none of the side cast was interesting the slightest and clearly had the absolute minimal amount of effort put into them which is why the drama may come off as boring sometimes. Speaking of effort, the soundtrack was abysmal if you are watching it from Netflix! They clearly didn't give any attention to it and slapped in some royalty free default tracks because it's easier for Netflix to distribute it world wide. The TV version had real music and songs which is really important for a drama of this theme. Stupid Netflix as always. One more thing, the drama has this habits of sprinkling in a handful of random mini stories for the side characters that doesn't get attention for more than 2 scenes or contribute to the overall narrative in a desperate attempt to buff up the drama. The only noteworthy thing about this drama is having an elderly cast getting the spotlight which we don't see often, otherwise, it's a bland collection of life drama cliches with the occasional nice moments.

Juliette Chin OMG, it’s a beautiful story, love KK what a body shape WOW

KST I just finished watching this series. Wow it was really amazing. Actually I watched this drama because I like Song kang. This drama 's story was really emotional. A story of an old man trying to learn ballet. Wow! I actually worried when this grandfather was forgetting his memory. Anyhow the acting was really impressive. Song kang's acting was really amazing. Park in hwan's acting was really amazing for his age because this role needs a lot of energy when performing ballet. I really enjoyed watching this great drama. Actually TV N 's dramas are the best as always!!! I really recommend this drama to all the kdrama lovers specially to those who like watching light dramas. Song kang's fans must really watch this!!!

Michele My all time favorite K drama. Park In-Hwan at his best. I got teary eyed in every episode. The ending scene had me crying like a baby. Just thinking about it gives me goose bumps.

Jeri Who were the dancers and ballet company that performed?

berry.bunny sooo motivational.. many life lessons. great actors. The 12 eps length was just perfect. Song Kang's character here was really different from his other dramas. he's very attractive when dancing and a little sweaty lol. Give him more this type of role; soft, serious, warm-hearted, very addictive hehe

Prince Solid drama. Ignore the ratings and watch.

Cheese This is the besttttttt Korean drama.. I’m a sucker for family movies but this one killed it.. had a lot of lessons.. what an inspiring movie. “Go for what you want.. it’s never too late”. Also “Do what makes you happy” and last but not the least “Family doesn’t have to be related by blood to have each other’s back” this drama is 10/10 for me

Renata This was one of the most beautiful series I have seen in my life. Thank you.

Crystal Navillera is a warm and beautiful story, I felt it deep in my bones, was emotional, fulfilling and ti love the character development of the bully. Grandpa is so adorable and supportive, thank you tvN

Monika I am delighted with Navillera. Thank you Netflix Polska for broadcasting this series. I admire Song Kang's acting talent - he is developing a lot and you can see that he puts a lot of hard work into preparing the role. Only the eminent can do that. I am already looking forward to the next films and series with his participation. The entire cast in this movie played great. Applause for the entire production as well. You made a beautiful picture with perfect selection of frames, light and scenery. I'm impressed. Congratulations. I greet you from distant Poland.

Su San Like the lead characters, this drama "soars"--it is poignant, warm, touching, heartwarming, inspiring and brilliant. It is a "Must-See" for any kdrama fan. BRAVO!

Odi Wow… just Wow! I just got done watching this series and boy am I upset that it took me so long to get to it! Legit one of the best dramas I’ve watched (and I’ve watched A Lot lol) I usually don’t like dramas that get me in the feels too much but this one hit different! Just the right amount of laughter to cover up the tears shed. This was Beautiful! I haven’t cried so much watching a drama since Moon Lovers (but that was for an entirely different reason ?). The whole cast was lovely! Especially my haraboji Mr. Sim... I have the softest spot on my heart for him! Gaaahhh I can’t stop rambling on about it lol

Leon Well, I watched Navillera again. I’m confirmed in the view that Song Kang did an outstanding job as Chae Rok and his dance moves were emotional and amazing for 6 months. He’s now a well rounded actor for his young age and I wonder what other challenges he’ll take on. Park in Hwan did a great job too but I have to say that the level of acting throughout the cast was exceptional. All good - unusual little gem of a drama.

Leon This is a surprising and brilliant drama. I really admire the part Song Kang took, he acted beautifully, showed all the emotions and grew through his part. The fact that he spent 6 months learning ballet, one of the most difficult art forms, is impressive and he built his body up. Now I think he is a real actor, which I didn’t think in Love Alarm. I admire him and wonder what other challenges he will take on. Park in Hwan was a very good choice as he portrayed the onset of Alzheimer’s, his dream to do ballet and his growing relationship with Chae Rok. His wife was great too, also the dance studio director. All good. The music and direction are both moving and sensitive. I’m watching this for a second time I love it so much.

Freaknino I don’t usually write my thoughts or share my opinion about any series, but this one is different!! I love everything about it and oh god be prepared for an emotional trip while watching, * it hit me with the feels* So beautiful and touching! I love every single detail about it & how the characters developed It’s really one of the best K-dramas that I have ever seen, thank you for this beautiful story and all your hard work ! And after watching this I really want to follow my dream and do something that I love, it’s NEVER too late :’)

nahatsu I want to thank everyone involved with presenting this fine television series. One of the best I've seen in a very long time; I just hope that the actors, producers, directors, writers, and everyone involved in bringing Navillera to us, enjoyed it as much as we did! There really aren't enough words to describe how I feel about the entire experience. And if you knew me, you'd catch the significance of that!

  *Thank you*

Sandy Incredible just Incredible a must watch! You’ll smile, Laugh, Cry it has it all. Korean’s really know how to make good Drama’s and the Cast are amazing. Congratulations to all involved in this heartwarming Drama.

Bananaaack Other points i want to make:

  • all characters are amazingly well-written. I especially loved the bully's story and he was able to change.
  • park inhwan/sim deokchul is too pure and adorable :( and song kang is just sexy asf doing ballet (cant take my eyes off him)
  • this drama is unexpectedly good. Im ngl, i was obsessed when i first started watching this. I might watch this again in the future.

Bananaaack Other random thoughts:

  • Park inhwan/Sim deokchul is just adorable. He just looks so pure. I love him so much even the younger versions of him (in the drama). I wish him a good life. Not to mention, its amazing how he was able to play this role. And i do agree with the articles ive read before, he looks younger than his colleagues.
  • Song kang is such a versatile actor. Kudos to him for learning ballet in 6 months. I admire his dedication. In my opinion, this is the drama where I think he acted so well. I've watched his other dramas too but in this drama, i think he really perfected this role. I love how his expressions are more expressive and natural unlike his previous dramas (love alarm where i felt a lil bit of stifness in his acting). And also, he look sexy asf doing ballet.
  • I also love how each character here are well-written. None of them are left behind. All of them had their own stories. Even the bully had his own character development and i loved it. (I think he was the most relatable chatacter for me (often misunderstood)). Big praise to the writers here.

Bananaaack Amazing drama. And as a 21 yr old trying to chase their dreams, i find this so relatable. I would even cry at some scenes bc i know how it feels like "the world is against you and youre not meant to do what you want". It hurts tbh.

This drama will hold a special place in my heart. I'd probably watch this when im older and see how my perspectives have changed.

Jo fox Enjoyed everything about this series. Would recommend it highly

tara wow. just wow. i had put off watching this drama for a long, and i almost completely disregarded it but i am so glad i finning took the time to watch it. i had thought it would be boring but it was the complete opposite. surprisingly it had plenty of funny moments and scenes. the message it gets across to follow your dreams no matter your age or obstacles is heartwarming. i believe that there is a lesson in this drama for everyone to take with them. get the tissues ready because plenty of tears were shed but its so worth it ! i commend all the cast for putting on such amazing performances and the crew for creating such a sincere piece. recommend 10/10

Not DT45 This is a touching series about getting old with Alzheimer. Losing your memory can be traumatic and horrifying for you and the people around you. The relationship, interaction, and time spent with one another all create memories... good or bad. When you can no longer remember, you don't know what matters, you don't know what happened, you don't know...

The horrors of Alzheimer is that people around the person don't know what to do either. Navillera doesn't truly show the pain and suffering families go through dealing with someone who has Alzheimer. The show barely touch the surface but I do commend that the show brings the subject to the forefront.

I initially thought this show was about ballet and then maybe a retiree trying to accomplish his dream against all odds. Well, I guess this is about accomplishing a dream against all odds. The good news is the people, friends, and family seems to rally around and support our loving Alzheimer patient. However, he has build the loving relations with those around him. Some Alzheimer patients have not.

Hae Ji-Ah The best 2021 k-drama so far. At the beginning, I didn't expect much: just wanted to see ballet performance since I like ballet. But I was captivated by the story since the first episode and it makes me impatient to watch the next ones. Good casting with heartwarming story. It reminds me that each one of us deserves to have second chance in life to reach our dreams and to do better. Relationship between Chae-Rok and grandpa is very touching. If you are looking for k-drama which is not telling a cliché story, then this is the one! Very recommended and really worth to watch.

Serenande Spring Heartwarming, beautiful story :)

Margaret Cheung One of the best drama I have watched, warm, caring and touching. Suitable for all ages. Consider it is the best story and plot of all Song Kang had played.

Kaylee Love this drama but I gotta admit I find Chae-Rok’s cold treatment of the grandpa so sad sometimes. Just coz you had a rough past or are having a bad day doesn’t mean you get to shout and take it out on someone else, especially a sweet elderly person gees! Seriously made me teary at times.

Leslie Stunning! Superb! Heartwarming! I am not a ballet fan particularly, and this was the first Kdrama I’ve seen, and I am spellbound! The power of this story brought me to tears of joy & sorrow. Song Kang is splendid and so beautiful! Mr. Sim is my hero & I am mesmerized by the family & all of the subplots!! ❤️❤️❤️

Sarah Serviss Unbelievably great show! The story, the actors, etc.! I was hooked from the beginning and think this production is top awards worthy!

Bunnu Worth to watch. I give 100/10. Btw the grandpa is so cute.

Navillera Perfect ensemble! Good chemistry between Park In-Hwan and Song Kang. Love the redeeming arc of Kim Kwon. Very heartwarming drama. Will recommend 10/10! <3

Ava Very touching and many life lessons. Luv it

Jules Heartwarming drama. Very reflective of our society today. Struck so many chords in me. Very good acting from the entire cast. Love this series!

Bonnie Loved this story and the acting so much! So heartwarming and memorable. Beautifully done all around!!!

Joanna it is so inspiring and heartwarming drama. i also love Doek-Chul's wife Hae-Nam who plays a very supportive wife who stood by him, makes every effort to encourage and care for him. This drama deserves high ratings!!!

Amanda Such an amazing Korean drama I think this has to be my top 1 such a beautiful story line and such good character development from all the people in the story . Definitely a unforgettable show which it was longer than 12 episodes

Michele My all time favorite K Drama. A masterpiece. I never cried so hard as I did in the last episode. Park In-Hwan should win Best Actor of the Year award.

nataSHE a drama you can extract form a bellerino.......super bravo korean drama....you are da best......actors so magnifico......cant get enuf of a box of tissue.....grandpa park in hwan goes to best actor awards.....song kang you really soar

Ratih Love it so much ?????

Rich The Best drama this year, song kang and park in hwan had a good chemistry they played the role well and they danced swan lake beautifully, each character has a good story to tell, ajaja

Nathaniel Such a tearjerker! A Beautiful story indeed. I'm surely gonna miss the whole cast.

Jeniffer This is one of the best dramas I have seen since Downton Abbey. I absolutely loved Navillera. The relationship between Mr SIM and Lee Chae Rok was adorable in how the relationship started and grew. I told all my family members to watch it. This series gets 10/10 from me .......... best series to watch while under lock down as it gave you even more of an appreciation for life, and all of life’s moments, good and challenging! Love Love Love all of it! Congratulations to the actors, directors, dancers, writers and all involved in making this masterpiece.

Petra A great serie about real life; about real living! Top! Full of love. Thank you.

Rae Such a unique, heart-warming, tear-jerking drama that I absolutely adore. The actors were outstanding and the story was beautiful. I feel ashamed to admit that I didn't hold much interest when I started watching the drama. My initial thoughts were "ballet, really?" ....wow, was I kicked off my high horse and thankfully so. If you're curious about the drama, do yourself a favour and just watch it because you won't be disappointed. I certainly wasn't and I'm honestly a little sad it's over.

Xii This series is just too beautiful!!♥

Manuel Salazar Best drama this year!

Movie drama Buff Me, friends family watched this drama several times because it is so great. Navillera is better than a love triangle, zombie or dragging drama story, it’s beautiful, even the bad guys turn out to be great. Mr. Sims and Char-rok so talented and a wonderful duet/ partners so caring, considerate, etc. Applause to all characters with great skills and the staff and writers. Excellent, different and need more stories like this that capture your audience heart. Thank you all again.

Katrina Beautiful, heart warming drama. I love that they wrote an ending for each character unlike other dramas thay felt lacking. So glad i watched this drama!

anna van houtte This serie is a jem! Thank you so much for creating, playing, giving joy and lifelessons to the writer, director and actors and dancers.! Thanks to Netflix for distubuting this jem troughout the world.

Lorella Masseria this series is wonderful! it touches all the strings of the heart and is engaging from start to finish. I loved Araboji Deok Chul from the first moment, also because he looks a lot like my dad. I loved Seong Gwan because he is intense and his voice is beautiful. I loved Chae Rok's sensitivity and Song Kang's skill. like many other Korean actors and peers, he shows impressive talent.

Cherlene Angeline K This drama is soooo damn Good. I cried every episode ? I'm so touched. When the last episode the harabeoji ask Chea Rok, 'did u soar?' I'm crying again??. Definitely Recommended

Geneveva Watched this drama because Taemin SHINee sing the OST here ❤❤❤. Lucky, what a great drama!

Raionkisaki must watch! really love it! great acting great plot great directing great everything thank you for everyone that makes this drama exist...

Ranny francisco This drama is spot on. It is magnificent, heartwarming. Beautiful plot, out of the ordinary. Superb acting, kudos to all. Good choice of actors for the role. Though the children's looks do not resemble much of their parents', just my opinion. That does not matter much though, because the children's looks fit more in their role as individual personalities. I love the ballet dances. Thanks for the good drama.

Patricia Lemerise Loved it! Heart warming, great acting. I especially loved the arc of the bully which is rarely seen in K dramas, he is also such a cutie.

Marlene Collins Started watching this show in Northern California on netflix and loving every minute of it. Am only on episode 5. The acting is beautiful and the story line is wonderful!

Rocky This drama deserves more recognition than those recycled romcoms.

Lydia Beautiful drama with excellent casts

B00 This was so good made me cry, which I Never do. I have had several relatives with Alzheimer's disease. This was such a heart warming show. The actors and actresses were great. Im sad the only 12 episodes.

Shirley What a great and inspiring story. I was very touched. The cast and acting are stellar, especially that of Park In-Hwan nim. He was so so good. Harabeoji.. Fighting! T_T

Joecris This drama is reminder us to be strong and never give up in oud long way deeam, but we need to sacrefice due to famill need and priorities.

This drama also how strangers people Bearley know each other some but some how they find thier self tangle to each other

This drama always reminds us fo be gratefull in life with our bdloved grandparents sacrifices for famiy.

Song Kang is a exxellect actor, like what he did in sweethome"

Laura I started watching this drama when I saw a ost of it sung by Taemin and it was about ballerinas and Song Kang was very manly handsome male ballerino . I didnt know how much meaningful this drama was. This is the first time I got tears over nonromantic emotional affectionate scene without any blood relationship . Grand Pa & ChaeRok's relationship is so heartwarming they both needed eachother in their ownway. Chaerook finally become his unofficial grandson,Chaerok got another family .And all characters get into their own happiness . Its good that writer didnt try to add chaerook and granddaughter romance but made them good friends that will last for a longtime . Realistic ,inspirational drama about life. I m also a young soul who is somewhat lost but I think this drama gave me lot of energy . I recommend this drama to anybody despite of any barrier of age, gender etc..

Mei Why is this drama have low rate... it's so amazing and heartwarming

Lily Love this drama. It is so heart warming!! Very good acting from all the actors and actresses.

Dramamovie buff What an enjoyabe and lots of good feeling drama. Song Kang is a very excellant and versatile actor, his role was considerate to everyone especially Mr Sims so much care. We applaud the writers for such a good and realistic story. Good job to the staffs. Can’t forget the mother such a strong and wise women. Overall Everyone including Mr Sim characters work hard together, with care towards each other. The main plot was great and the results so heart warming. Thank you all. We need more drama like this.

spoon love this show so much so heartwarming, kudos to the casts

David i cried at every episode. Great writing. Great acting. Never sentimentalize or caricaturize people with seemingly impossible dreams and those who continue to live in spite of illness.

D Mar Congrats to the casts of Navillera. It is one of the best kdrama in history. Happy and amazing finale ! It is a feel good drama during this pandemic, helped viewers feel a little better and made us know that there can still be good and kindness acts happening every where. Song Kang is a rising young star ! Stay safe all !

Fei Fei Good drama, recommended for sure

Alpha I will never forget this drama and all the life lessons I learned. This is one of the most beautiful drama I have ever watched and I wish many people will watch this. Kudos to all the cast!

Jan Wow. This drama went beyond my expectations for it. Everything was executed so beautifully from the cast, storyline, the message and many more. The list is endless. I even found myself crying frequently because I was just so touched. Especially during the heartwarming moments. Well done to the cast and crew. I enjoyed and loved every second of this show and I will cherish it forever <3

Mizuki Wonderful ending. It made cry when they both dance on stage. Both of them soar. Good job to all the cast. Song Kang is such a versatile actor. Mr. Park InHwan is so lovable actor. I wish there is a season 2 Chae-Rok will continue to dance and Mr Sim is still beside him. I can't think of anything else to say. Perfect drama. No silly live stories, no heavy drama. Kudos to the writer and director. We Love You All.

Michael Lounds Probably the best Kdrama I have seen, both lead actors were perfect, the story line was spot on. I have to admit I shed a few tears too.

Bec pascua First time to give a comment on kdrama. Heartwarming and you will understand alzheimer's desease better in a simple. The heart always remember! Well executed and the chemistry is superb. Yes! it's never too late to dream. Congratulations!

Allison Pratt Absolutely outstanding drama. My feelings are that more people didn't watch because of their own feelings and fears about Alzheimer's disease and the devastating losses when loved ones can no longer grasp reality. As a memory care nurse, I always tell families that the heart never forgets so they have something to hold on to when their Mom or Dad fail to recognize faces. I see it everyday, but know this, most are happy and pain free in their worlds. The acting and chemistry of Park In-Hwan and Song Kang was outstanding. I cried all the way through #11 and #12 knowing what was eventually going to happen, but Mr. Sim said he wouldn't forget Chae-rok because the heart always remembers. Well done cast and crew!?

Jonna b. This drama is sooooo heart warming..the story was though predictable yet execuyed beautifully.. Song Kang perfectly fits for the role with his milky smooth skin complementing his toned muscles and great looks.. all the actors played their characters very qell too..

Thank you Navillera...lits never too late to fullfil our dreams and soar..

Amoy I'm crying! Why did I not realize that this was the last episode??? I expected 16! This drama is heartwarming in everyway. I love how everyone found themselves; doing what makes them happy the most. Thank you actors for working so hard!

Liz G Thank you for such a wonderful and heartwarming drama. All the actors played their characters so well. The drama moved me so much that I cried in most of the episodes. The drama showed us it is never too late to follow and fulfill your dream. Go for whatever makes you really truly happy. I lost a son when he was just 21 years old. I worked abroad away from my family so it is important to make more memories with them before time runs out. Yes, we have to make sacrifices to be able to provide them a better future and after achieving this goal, there is still time to relax, be relieved, make your dream soar, and find your own happiness. Thank you, this drama gave me hope.

jidkf58 I'm pretty sad this had to end, I fell in love with all the character in this drama. The relationship between the grandpa and Chaerok was so touching and I enjoyed every episode from beginning to end. There were so many moments that made me shed a tear, especially in the last episode. I will miss it, it was beautiful.

gt i'm not crying, you are

GL This was such a beautiful , heart warming show. The performance was beautiful and believable and the last scene was so touching . This was a wonderful drama about soaring dreams , relationships, family. Really reared up in the final episode?

Janet Johnson Loved this drama from beginning to end. All the characters were so good and it made so many good points about compassion toward others and dedication to achieving goals. Song Kang was so believable, I thought he probably studied ballet for years.

Riana Bain Prehaps many might find my post quite silly, but I would like to take a minute and say thank you to the writers, cast and all individuals and organizations involved in making this production a reality. It has been years since I have been true touched by a show, Naverilla would forever remain in my heart. As I too have lost someone to Alzheimer. I actually lost my best friend, my grandmother. This show is quite relatable to me due to the fact that as a child I had learnt ballet and every afternoon as long as I completed my homework. I would spend an hour or too showing my grandmother what I learnt in class that week. I guess you could say my living from was our stage from 6-8 pm. As I got older we moved practice out into the veranda as I had hurt myself a few times slamming into furniture. As I got much better at ballet her fear of me bending and twirling gradually kicked it as I was quite daring once I heard the piano piece, the more layer the music had, the create pull it had to my soul. Until one day I completed the performance in a split I had pent half a year learning. At the sight alone my grandmother hear dropped, she thought I would have broken my legs. However the fear she experience stayed with me and I gradually stopped dancing. Regardless my passion for ballet still remains and so did my grandmothers love for classical music. Overtime we still bonded over wonderfully composed pieces and she even started earning to play the steel pan before her serve decline. Unfortunately I was unable to see her in her final days and have spent the last five years grieving silently. I would like to say THANK YOU again to all who had a role to play as you have helped me to make pieces with the lost of my love one thru this show.-Rin Tin

Renwa Just completed the drama...Stunning on every level...I’ve loved so many wonderful K dramas but Navillera tops the list...Not To Be Missed... nuanced Substantive sensitive writing...Each actor truly contributed to its success....just amazing chemistry amongst/between characters. The leads Park In Hwan, Song Kang, Na Moon Hee & each supporting cast member hit it out of the park...a Record/Award Worthy true Home Run! Thank You All❤️

mary grether what an awesome drama, it was so good. Gives people thoughts on do something that makes you happy. touched close to home too. all the actors & actresses were awesome. really hard to think your parent will say "who are you" really heart breaking

BaiLaohu777 What a beautiful heartwarming story with a perfect cast. Absolutely love Song Kang and Park In Hwan. All the other cast members are very good also. Simply marvellous. Episode 12 made me.cry. It was so touching. I cannot say enough how much I love this show. Song Kang gets better and.better in every drama he is in. He is so very talented. Thank You to the writer, director, producer, all the actors for this splendid drama. Take a bow everyone for this wonderful performance.

Lyra Thank you TVN for this masterpiece, Navillera always hold a special place in my heart. The two leads Park In Hwan and Song Kang were just amazing and they portrayed their characters so well. The amazing performance by Grandpa and Chae Rok was touched the hearts of the audience. Both Grandpa and Chae Rok soared beautifully. The supporting characters and their stories were equally heartwarming. Love the documentary by Seong Gwan that made the family members laugh and cry at the same time. Mr Byun his son-in-law going to university in his fourties, Seong San supporting his family members to do what they really like, Seong Gwan decision to continue working as a doctor to help his patients. Eun Ho found a job which makes her happy and look forward to. Ho Beom and Se Jong joined the same soccer team together. Mr Ki proposed to Sori and got remarried thanks to Chae Rok and Mr Sim. Grandpa finally completed his promise and fulfilled his lifelong dream with Grandma. Their supportive relationship so precious. Chae Rok managed to live together with his father after listening to Grandpa. He soared high as the star dancer in Korea due to his hardwork and effort. The last scene where Chae Rok and Grandpa met when it was snowing and danced together I teared up at so many heartwarming scenes in this drama. The life lessons and messages in this drama are so simple yet touching. Never lose hope no matter what happens and keep chasing your dreams. Remember that it’s never too late

Barbara Johnson Bravo, beautifully written and executed. I am too full of joy.

Ululul Yoo that propose at the end tho... Mr.ki and so ri is an underrated romance in navillera ngl, i mean look at them.... Perfect

Belle OMG I cried for the last episode, thank you for all crew and cast members for this beautiful drama!

celinacaprice I so love this series.♥♥♥ SK and PIH really deserve an award for this drama. These two always make me cry...i will be missing them.♥♥♥

Davina Loved ep11 the most! Was so touched when Haenama thanked grandpa reminding him how he thanked her being by his side when he retired giving her half the credit. So heartwarming ?. Same with grandpa nearly missing his audition to support his son and remind him his dad has his back with the baseball glove! Same between the son and his wife Mrs Shin. Chaeroka and his dad are also finding each other partly thanks to grandpa. What an amazing person!!! The actor and writer have done an amazing job. I mean for me-like honey said- this series has a special place in my heart : it covers 3 generations, friendship and respect, how to deal with Alzheimers - a topic rarely featured and close to my heart as my mother and father both have it. Luckily my dad died before he couldn't recognise us. My fear is mum forgetting who I am ....

I wish ep.12 is longer and that grandpa gets to dance on stage with Chaeroka and soars like an Eagle! Pls let him achieve his dream. Grandpa is an inspiration for all ages: don't give up no matter how hard; believe in yourself and the people around you.

Just beautiful all round!!! Thank you writer, producer actors, Netflix ????

Honey So sad that this beautiful and heartwarming series is ending...hope the last episode is longer.

I don't remember the last time I felt so moved by something I watched, until now. I want to thank all involved, especially asking Kang and Park In Hwan for their excellent portrayals. They deserve an award for this.

I will remember Navillera. It has a special place in my heart.

Scorbunny 12 episodes is too short for me...wish this drama has 16 episodes. I can’t believe the ending is here already. Hope this underrated gem gets more recognition and viewers!

Lin Am I the only one curious about Mr Ki and Siri’s backstory? Wish they showed more scenes of them...curious to know why they divorced

NZRL Almost every episodes I’ll find myself crying. This drama thought me a lot of life lessons. Second chance, the struggles of your parent, putting trust on others and many more. Can’t believe it’s going to end soon.

RAKW @KNN I totally agree with you. Let's just enjoy this drama. Anyone can express their opinion, but if you find this interpretation of the webtoon so distasteful don't watch it and be at peace. For myself, I am this character's age. Like him, a life of raising a family and working to provide were my priorities. Now retired I am pursuing my postponed interests before cancer and age take their toll. This drama touches me and is more real than I can express.

KNN Geez can you guys chill...no one if forcing you to watch the show, take the negativity and hate elsewhere

Mi Whenever they remake a webtoon series into a drama can’t seem to please all the viewers... Because there is bound to be changes between the webtoon and drama. Just sit back relax and enjoy this beautiful show with a lot of heartwarming moments. Don’t forget to prepare a box of tissues too.

Theresa @Shibuya the grandpa is perfect for this role. He is one of the best actors of Korea. Respect!

El @shiboya IMO, it’s more realistic in the drama because real life elderly people are not as fit as the one being portrayed in the webtoon. Doesn’t make sense to get a thin actor with muscles. The focus of the drama is to show the difficulties and struggles learning ballet at an old age. Also commenting about Park In Hwan looks just make you seem like a hater

cez @shibuya what are you talking about? doesn't matter if the grandfather doesn't fit to the Weston character, what matter is how he executes his role and it did touched so many hearts.... My Gosh

Patrick The whole storyline, casting and OST is just explicitly outstanding. Im not into shows with languages I don't speak., cause sometimes I miss a lot of the small details of the scenes when i focused much on the subtitles, but this was so unexpected. I love how all the actors portrayed their characters well. Each episode has so much lessons to learn from and of course gets you teary eyed and overwhelmed you with emotions. Sobbed much on the part where Mr. Sim cried for help for his Mom and Dad at the park, you will really feel his loneliness. It's just sad that there were only few episodes.

Shiboya They could've casted a different actor grandpa to do shim deok chul. The grandpa looks so different from the webtoon one. The webtoon one had the body who can perform ballet with effort and hardwork. Tall, lean and had muscles. Sure he had belly but it wasn't like this. Realistically speaking it'll be hard to do ballet on this actor's body. This actor doesn't fit in the category. Not to mention the grandpa actor looks a weirdly mean for some unknown reason. This is not just it... i feel like there's something incredibly lacking in execution. Only good thing was Chae rok actor is passionate enough to carry the whole series.

Crybaby There's only one drama I cry a buckets..war of the son starring yoo seung hoo..this drama will add..

Sara I seldom cry in kdramas but this is one of the few dramas that pulling at my heart strings...kudos to the writer, director, main leads and all supporting actor/actresses, each have their own story to tell and each with sweet and touching moments when they cross path with one another. the cinematography is breath-taking and the music scores are just wonderful

Laura Rey Fabulosa. Dialogos maravillosos

LISLY BAÑADERA DERIS Heartwarming, I cried a lot, please watch it. I love the characters.

Bai Laohu I love this show. It is so heart warming. All of them acted well in this show. I love Song Kang.

Katie wei This is the most comprehensive show I have seen. I am 82 so it has special meaning but at any age it has something to connect to. Please make more. Thank you

Yuri No words to describe the beauty of this kdrama!

fava poor ho boem, he must have mistaken screaming and shouting with acting with emotions.

Mizuki Every episode is heart warming. You'll smile, cry with Mr. Sim and Chae-Rok. Such a lovely drama. I just can't believe it will end soon. Good job to the cast and crew

KD If you watch one drama series this year, watch Navillera. It’s a beautiful and sensitive story of human frailty and strength across the generations.

Norik Baboorian Checkosky Watched 10th episode , very well done dealing with realistic emotions, I actually believe the old man park In-Hwan , has Alzheimer’s disease, and the wife Na Moon He , is his real wife ,

they are his real children,

the ballet dancers and instructors,

the townspeople , the kids actors ,
what can I say the every member of the cast is amazingly picked and act perfectly , the director’s direction is perfect

, the story is emotional and well written. Bravo to all, not to mention very handsome Song kang, Kim Kewan , junghae keun, cho seong ha , Kim tae hoon , jo bok rae ,

kching Watching from USA! Loved this kdrama. Disappointing only 12 episodes...

NS Beautiful story. I love harabeoji and chae rok.

Marta O'Neill Brilliant show. The story is told in a warm pace and take you slowly into the family of the wonderful 70 years old and the young man who both love ballet. Amazing series and not pretentious at all! Amazing group of actors.

Sema It’s sooooooo good!!!! Writing, casting, character development, acting (and the beautiful lighting in the studio.) Such a beautiful, tender and loving bond developing right in front of us between the two lead actors. It’s impossible not to fall in love with both them. This show strikes a cord on so many levels. I have binged on Korean shows over a year now during Covid isolation and I must say while there are many shows I really enjoyed, none was as touching and inspiring as Navillera. Bravo! Well done all around.

Queen K Why only 12 episodes? This kdrama is absolutely uniquely significant awareness for elderly, family and people with the same issues. It's educational, engaging and inspiring to watch. One of the best Kdrama I've watched. So much sense...

Ern I think this is my best 2021 k-drama so far! This is really my taste. Thank you so much to Park In Hwan and Song Kang <3,

Ern I think this is my best 2021 k-drama so far

M I criedd almost on every episode. What a beautiful story.

D Mar Episode 8 had a beautiful cinematography ever when Chae Rok was dancing ballet in front of Mr. Shin who is having a dark moment to remember. I felt what the scene was trying to tell us audience, not to judge people because something is going on in their lives. I really sob in this scene and Song Kang's acting was superb ( who is not even real ballet dancer) Bravo !!. Best drama of 2021.

BRB crying A heartwarming and emotional drama. Every episode is so touch with many life lessons. The relationship between Mr Sim and Chae Rok is so beautiful and their interactions are so lovely. I amazed at how every episode can bring me to tears. Especially the last few episodes where I just can’t stop crying. Definitely one of my favourite k dramas (top 10).

allison This lovely story is a reminder to all of us about the devastating effects of Alzheimer's. The very young and driven Chae-rok and the aging senior, Sim Deok with memory loss, gives you a heart warming yet very sad look into reality. The writers, in my opinion, have given each character perfect roles to demonstrate how fast we are living and not paying attention to what happens as our parents age. Yang Ho Beom's character struck me in the latest episode by him seeing two things in Chae-rok. One, his enormous talent as a Ballerino and two, his genuine kindness. Something I think has given him a wakeup call. All in all it is a wonderful show and I hope more people will tune in. The Ballet is beautiful and the music is wonderful. Thank you for this show. ??

Seojin This is such a touching drama. Just looking and Mr. Sim and Chai-rok moments made me wants to cry. Lighthearted but very moving. The actors are so good at playing their characters. So worth the time to watch.

Renwa A must see drama...tender, sensitive, heartwarming, thoughtful, inspirational...outstanding cast...award worthy...bravo to the casting director as each actor/character reflects beautiful chemistry with each other...a real ensemble company...tearful in a good way...Park In Hwan is the consummate actor (OMG!)...Song Kang as a newish actor gives a beautiful nuanced performance...his solid performance with each character in the drama is noteworthy...Na Moon Hee was as well spectacular in her role...Actually I loved each of the performers...Bravo/Brava to all! Thank you all for such inspired entertainment!

Sue Love this drama.. the interaction between the actors allows the viewers to fall in love with each character.

Watcher Im always crying everytime i watch new episodes, why are you so cruel writer-nim ?

Vimenuo Keditsu Bawled my eyes out on ep 8... ???? can't wait for ep 9

Lori L. Bunch I usually switch off between more intense dramas like action/police/crime thriller and something lighter. I picked this because it seemed easy to watch.

And it is but it is also so captivating that I binged it all night. I love all of the acting and the writing is stellar and keeps you engaged from episode to episode. As the plot unfolded you can understand the motivation of the lead characters. (Though there was a point when I wanted to pound Hae-Nam and Seong-San. )

This drama is so satisfying without any of the usual tropes so often used. The ballet makes it extra beautiful.

I am now even a bigger fan of Song Kang.

CarVar What a beautiful story! Compelling and so much real! What a great way of presenting the sides of all the themes. I’m really move! It’s so unusual to see a relationship that grows between an elderly and a young man that doesn’t know each other with a beautiful interest in one subject so attractive like ballet. Thank you for that drama.

Barbara Johnson Amazing production, writing, acting, and soul stirring song.

Vicky M Biorseth what is the sad song sung by a male in end of episode 7 and beginning of episode 8??? I have to have that song. It is so beautiful

Owl This drama is so good but underrated. It’s heartwarming. Shows real life issues. In life, most of us never get to do what we really want to do. I hope more and more people watch this show.

anja I Really Love The Drama ? The cast and the storyline is absolutely perfect. I cried for 7 whole episodes and will cry for 5 more episodes ? Please please please if you haven't watch Navillera, you need to watch it now.

Yayassss Can't wait to see the next episode of this drama. I wish the ending isn't sad for both chaerok or the grandfather. Please give songkang a happy ending this tine~~

Bryan R. I just want to know that title of the back ground song playing in Episode 1. When the Dad of Song Kang called him. The song is so good to my ears but I don’t know the title.

So far, i’m loving the series ❤️

Luithereader The webtoon was amazing and made me cry my eyes out, wonderful cast in this drama!

Yhang I love everything on this drama, from being Husband & wife, being a parents to their childrens, being daughters/son to our parents and Lastly, being grandchildren & grandparents relationship.

Note: No required age when chasing our dreams & goals. As long as we can do more and strive hard, all our hard works will paveoff. One day we will soar high and be able to taste the success & happiness that we are looking for. ??

Yhang This drama deserves more viewers. Song Kang and Mr. Park In-Hwan did a great act. ( I really miss my grandparents. ?? because of this drama. I wish they were still alive.? ) Thank you TvN for this drama.

Note: You will learn a lot on this drama, Especially life lesson, how chasing dreams & goals and finding happiness in ourselves.

tori the mail men in the past of grandpa is his delivery guy friend its said his name nd they got the same name

Jo Lee Love the storyline, perfect cast for main roles, very entertaining. Now I really need to learn Korean. ?♥️

Yhang Love this drama especially Songkang and And Mr. Park In-Hwan acting. They deserve their role. ?

Danny Yatim I randomly picked this drama on netflix to watch yesterday. Wow, I loved this one, alrhough it has only reached episode 4. Quite different from the usual dramas. This one has a.senior citizen as the main lead. I also liked the theme to follow your dream. As a 63 year old person.who still leads an active life,I'r like to break the steretypes of elderly people being weak and helpless. By the way, my next dream which I'm trying to fulfill is being able to speak/understand Korean this year. Not as tough as ballet though :-)

Rena Even his farewell with his car, Bungbung, is really sad, what will happen if it’s for a person, I won’t able to hold my tears

Belle This drama is really heartwarming and heartbreaking at the same time, it realistically tells us about life, how hard and sad it is, I hope this drama gets more popularity and reaches more viewers

Jil This is a good kdrama. Too many leasons.

Nin I hope this wont be a sad ending! Like someone dying..

Kalani Walser @Rang I totally agree with you. I will be 70 this August and I empathize with the senior pursuing his dream before it's too late. Raising a family, life's ups and downs, and health issues interrupt moving toward the attainment of the dream very much alive within one's soul. I route for both the young dreamer and the older dreamer in this story, as I urge myself to do the same.

Ming Love this series! Has two of my favorite people ... Park In-Hwan and Na Moon-Hee! Two extreme talents!!!!

Laviet09 @Cul This airs Mondays and Tuesdays in Netflix 10 pm. I don't know about in Korea but I think the dates mentioned above are wrong. Please have patience.

Cul Its already 29 of March where is the third episode, i can't wait anymore ?

yeseun im here for kim kwon . gosh he's so handsome . i like him from leverage drama series and just want to see him again as lead male with kim sae ron .

Vidya It is good to watch and. Age doesn't matter for something u love to learn ..

Rang This from webtoon and absolutely and emotional drama that make u cried and laugh at the same time. This drama is so beautiful at the beginning.Cant wait ep.3

Winda Literally sad at the first episode

rind Already crieddd in first episode

KHAIRUNNISA' BINTI MUSTAPHA KAMAL Liked it. Not bored to watch..the storyline looks interesting.Looking forward for next episode

sunoo_our_sunshine this drama is so nice like i literally cried at ep 1;; idk why huhuhu its just so beautiful waiting for ep 3

Jan I'm literally in love. I can't explain how emotionally attached I am to this drama already. It's so inspiring and touching that it's made me cry every episode so far. There's just always something, sad or happy, that just tugs on your heartstrings. And the story is so real and perfectly represents what one may go through to achieve their dreams. I am so excited to see how the storyline is going to unfold, I cannot wait for the new episodes <3

Rinda What a really inspiring drama, love it so so so much... every second of the storyline were so mature, i can feel all the emotion of laughter and sadness in complete ying yang combination.. can't wait to watch the next episode that i believe keep climb up to the next level with beyond expectation story. ;)

Richard Prager I can relate to this story and how the principle actors bring it across. I am a 75 year old man who started ballet about twenty years ago. Plenty of classes for adults in the US. Sim Deok Chool expresses the subtle feelings of desire, lost opportunity, determination and focus that are right on. I often watch the first two episodes of a series and don't continue. After the first two series of Navillera, my only disappointment is that I can't watch it every day. All the characters revealed in the first two episode got me curious and interested in seeing how they are developed and fit into the story line(s). Bravo.

Samiya I can’t believe they made it into a drama. Kyaaaaa. I loved this comic so much

Eric Definitely the two episodes are just bringing into the next level! I really like the storyline on how they will cross path together and chase their dreams together! Cha Roek will definitely soar high as an eagle together with Deok Cheol ???? really can't wait for the next 10 episodes but it is already giving me the laughter, sadness, and the drama i have been longing for! ???

Caps First and foremost, I liked the part that their first episode showed an interaction of our elderly and some of their regrets. The discussion during the wake of one of their friends was catching enough.

I really cried a lot during the scene where Mr. Sim read the letter of his old friend who left to live for happiness. Each word that he wrote in his letter stung my heart.

I know I am not as old as the old characters in the drama but I could easily understand what they meant about dreams lost and just surviving reality.

I am looking forward to the rest of the series and how the writers and characters can give inspiration to some who has left their dreams. To help those who have given up to realize that an opportunity can always be seized.

So much heart in this drama. Thank you for the story. And I just found out this was a webtoon, I'll surely check that, too. :)

Preta I liked the first episode!! Looks solid.

Jane TVN never fails to surprise us. Can't wait to watch

Jeremy Strongly anticipating...

Jan Omg I'm so excited. I already know I'm going to cry, anything that involves life lessons taught by an older person and the journey of following your passion(since I am a dancer as well) get's me so emotional, I can't wait :')

이여나 I can't believe there's a live action! I love the webtoon so hopefully I'll like this one too.

Elilu This drama has an interesting concept and I'm looking forward to watch it when it's released. I've seen Song Kang in Sweet Home and fell in love with his acting so I have high hopes for this project.

+++ I've read the webtoon and its one of my absolute faves! It is such a wonderful story that will tug your heartstrings and I do hope the drama will do that too! I'm so excited for this drama!!

Priyam Funny how song kang's name was LUCA in when the devil calls your name and this show will take over the slot timing of L.U.C.A kdrama

Priyam Funny how song king's name was LUCA in when the devil calls your name and this show will take over the slot timing of L.U.C.A kdrama

The Great And Powerful Turtle Looks like Sim Deok-Chool will re-spark Lee Chae-Rok interest in ballet ...i`m down for that i hope its not all serious though and has some humour ...

stanonewe I think this is going to be really emotional to watch, I´m really exited to watch it cause Song Kang never disapoints :D

moon2509 When I saw the TV poster, I thought it looked familiar and OMG I read this webtoon months back!! The English title is called "Like A Butterfly" and the story is really good!! I encourage you guys to read the webtoon :)

annachanzy Seeing the title, can't help but think of GFRIEND's song (Buddy here) but the drama looks interesting. It feels like the drama will inspire us that it's never too late for your dreams.

La_La_Love Nanana Navillera! ?

Park Haeri this is not really my type of k-drama but i'm open-minded to it. been a fan of song kang recently and is watching all his dramas.

Wrong kim You should put Park in hwan in first place. He Is main protagonist of story. I talk this a webtoon reader. Also Look info at daum site.

This combination leads between Old and Young male!! This is rare in kdramaland. Cant waittt

Jungle_Fish Can't wait for Song Kang upcoming projects.. esp he will be a ballerino here ><
