KST Oct 21 2021 12:33 am I just finished watching this series. Actually I watch this because of Choi min ho as I am a huge fan of him. Anyway I found this so interesting. The story is about the youth and how our feelings are get mixed with different people. The plot line was really impressive. It shows the ccomplexity of our relationships. Tae oh could not express his love towards song yi but he loves him more than seo jian does. Anyway till the end of the drama I wish Yoon te oh and Han song yi could get together but anyway drama ends in

Especially Park Sodam and Kim Minjae, I got so many butterflies because of them, their smiles are my favorite, they look so cute together.

and It's already 5 years since tae-oh left. i think it's time for season 2..

I like this drama but the ending of this drama i don't very like because the lead male Min Ho is go away and don't know where he go, that make me disapointed when i watch that. But in My first love Ji Soo was stand on that drama definitelly he can't have the love of the famele lead
A+ Apr 20 2019 8:09 pm Rewatched it again after airing in 2015, because of the remake, and I must say this is still definitely the better version. The remake was so draggy and slow to the point. Characters here are much more defined and well-written than My First First Love.

I get to experience something like this when i was younger.
First one. It's between a guy and girl friend. The guy befriended me first, told me he wants to court my girl friend. They're married now with two kids.
Second one, I was a friend between lovers. It's just that at that time, i became their bridge, the guy pursued the girl with my help and they didn't ended up together. The girl was too jealous of me. Even though, im her friend before she met the guy. My girl friend just can't settle with the fact that im close to her boyfriend. There's nothing goin on with us, the guy and i only talk about his girlfriend every time we were together. How head over heels he was at that time to my girl friend. I told the girl those things and even explained. I decided to get my self distant to them so i can't interfere to whatever they have that time. I don't want to be their reason that they have a ruined relationship. But it didn't help. They still went on different ways.
SungJoonMyeverything Feb 17 2018 5:17 pm Okay so first I wanna start by out by saying that this drama was so good!!! but im so dissappointed that tae o and song yi didn't end up together how could the writer and director do this to me, we through out all 8 episodes see Tae O struggling to satisfy Song Yi every time she called he would run over to her and the same with Song Yi every time she was facing a problem she would call or write to Tae O they both felt comfortable by being with each other Song Yi also said that and the fact that Tae O has liked Song Yi all this time is so sweet I mean for gods sake theyre soulmates this is what I call for a soulmate how dare they to set her up with jian im so pissed off that Song Yi ended up with Jian theyre relationship was so boring and honestly they didn't match together at all!!!!!!!!
I will never forgive the writer and the director for doing to this me.....:(

Cammie Jan 22 2018 11:10 am I can't believe this drama got out 2015 and I just saw it for the first time. I love this drama, the strong bonds between the five friends, how they are always there for one another and considerate of eachothers feelings. Like the situation with Ga In's dad, and so on...
Song Yi was a little bit annoying and she took Tae Ho for granted. But she grew on me, and even though she might have been a good fit for Tae Ho, I liked it way more that she was together with Ji An. I was hoping, and hoping that Ji An and Song Yi would be together in the end, and they were so that made me very happy. I wished that in the end Tae Ho would try and make it work with Seo Hyun again though xD
I loved Ga In, she was so sweet, and innocent. She cared for everybody, and she respected that Tae Ho didn't like her, she just liked him all on her own, and that was enough for her. I wish she would get together with Hoon though, he likes her so much and he keeps saying it, why doesn't she notice!! XD
I liked the pairings in this drama, I feel like its rare that I do, but in this drama the pairings were really good. Tae Ho liked Song Yi, and had for a long time, but Song Yi had liked Ji An for a long time, and I liked that in the end Song Yi's feelings for Ji An didn't change just because she got to know that Tae Ho liked her, and she chose Ji An. It was great. It felt a little bit uncompleted though, I feel like there is more to say, I want them to meet again and I want Tae Ho...
I ofcourse loved the friendships between the 5 people, rather than the love relationships happening between them.
(Personally, wish I had lived in a small neighbourhood, with friends I had known for several years and that we would always be together... I have friends now too, but not that kind of longlasting strong friendship, were you basically grow up together never leaving ones side... i wished I had that and this drama makes me think of thatxD).
semperlei Jan 01 2018 1:15 am very nice youth oriented kdrama... it was nicely done that im bit sad that this is only 8 ep!!! thou im hoping that it will have its season 2.. probably this year when they are 23 y.o already ( 2015 they were 20 y.o ) the acting of minho is a revelation for me.. i thought he is just a good looking actor since im not impressed at his acting the first time i saw him in a drama to the beautiful you.. but here.. you can feel his struggle of fighting his feelings over friendship... i just felt in love with him in this drama making him looked even more handsome everytime he act... this is a simple , funny, romantic and sweet kdrama that is very much worth to watch.

However, this drama there is no single episode i felt bored. Kudos to production . I love all the actors nd actress. Min ho was so talented. Need more sequel. I need my heart thumping again.

eugene Jun 02 2017 10:41 am Im so glad. The story is very simple but also very beautiful at the same time. I was touched even at the first episode. Short, but 8 episodes, is perfect. The cast is also very natural when playing each character. I really like the simple drama series which close to reality Instead of a story that is like rubbing my face with a sugar. I'm satisfied with this one ❤❤

Ea Feb 16 2017 1:26 pm I'm really sorry to say that, but it wasn't a great one. I could have been, it had everything to be a great one, but than Song Yi happened and all went wrong. No matter how hard I tried to like her, I gave up before halfway. I don't want to be harsh, but she was reeealllly annoying, so later on I skipped her scenes (it was the same feeling with her Cinderella story..) If they decide to make more episodes, which I wouldn't mind at all, I hope they let Taeo not be in love with her, and let him grow up, because in that way it'll be way better. But because except SY the others were quite lovely, lets say it was fine.
Song Yi, Ew!!! Feb 01 2017 5:57 pm This was a drama I couldn't sit through. I don't even remember where I left off. Didn't even finish it and don't plan to. I couldn't stand Song Yi! She was too ugly, too mean, too selfish, too immature, too ignorant, just too annoying! I couldn't tell if she was literally that oblivious or if she was choosing to be blind because it was inconvenient for her. Tae-O's feelings were so pure, he was way too good for her and honestly him liking her is unbelievable and unrealistic. Who would put up with all that for that long?! He was well off, handsome, smart, fit, considerate, kind, gentle, and heartwarming. She was also too prideful. Whenever he would try to help her or be there for her she'd throw his upbringing and money in his face, as if he had no right because he didn't share her hardships. He never did that to her. He was constantly trying to be a shoulder she could lean on. She made him feel ashamed of himself. I liked Ryoo Se-Hyun for him. She was sweet, beautiful, and intelligent.

[[Overall]] This drama is a slice of life type. It concerns about thoughts and feeling and charcters and their situation which this drama did a very good job. It brings aspects that many other drams don't and I find it very interesting and it's realistic as well. It is like our life. Somestimes heartwarming and sometimes heartbreaking. Life is just unpredictable like this.
[[Characters]] Minho's character(Tae-O) here is interesting in that it's different from what male lead should be. He's not always cool and not always do right decision. He's just one human being. Because he has the least personal problem, he's like a center to the group that everyone can rely on. He's also caring and considerative. But his problem is he can't find himself. He don't know what he really likes and that makes him confuse and don't know what to do. He's a funny friendly guy. He has so many cute scenes that many can fall in love. His words and thougts are very interesting.
Sodam's character(Song yi) is hardworking because of her family's situation. She's straightforward but ungirly and immature which can be seen as weirdly cute. She think she's not beautiful but some people seems to don't think so.
Minjae's character(Ji ahn) is very mature and considerative which comes from family problem that he has to take care of. He's responsible and very hardworking just like Song Yi. He turns to be very very cute and romantic when he's in love.
[[What I like about this drama]] 1.Romantic scenes here are one of the best I've ever watch. It's just so cute that it makes me feel so shy as if I myself was in love. Ep4-5 is the best. Those moments when two people have a crush on each other. And arguing like a children, calling each other Chicken head and Psycho XD 2.Interesting words and aspect from Minho's character.
[[One thing you must set your mind before watching]] You is must not stick to the idea that there must be a male lead and female lead and they should end up together. Minho's character is like the center of the story. Other 4 are like main character in his story. So there's no gaurantee who will end up with who. There's no right and wrong couple. Be realistic. Life is like that ;)

How you give up on someone you love just to protect your friendship and all. It happens in real life tho when you're 20 yo. Yeah it's quite disappointing that the two leads can't understand each other feelings but i think songyi actually moved on from her first love and come to like ji ahn. I like the ending tho because I think it'll be boring and not so real if song yi changed her mind and choose tae oh. But if there's sequel or something, I'd love to see what happens to the love triangle hahahahaha

India Mar 16 2016 11:09 pm I only like last episode in this drama. Obviously all other episodes shows wrongly matched couples. It's like viewers has to see with the expectation when this mismatch love will broke and hidden feeling between the two leads will reveal.
And it does in the last episode. But the drama wasn't interesting by making sense of understanding between their feeling using friendship.
I totally don't like the idea, if everyone understands and considerate of others feelings, no one will lose friendship. And the leading two give up developing feeling on each other.
It's like they're acting mature though childish portrayal at all the time. Writer just failed to solve this love triangle. He only focus on protecting the friendship and used this as an excuse for understanding the love. Totally bullshit if you're in their age. Writer shouldn't the characters age.
And one more thing, I didn't pick this drama to watch for seeing the passive orientation of characters having fun. What'll happen if the triangular love ties and that situation drives on what kind of state? Is what expected and mostly last 3 episodes makes the complexity of characters.
And here in the end, the writer simply skips the very important last 10 days before leaving tae somewhere. Completely sucks. If you want to end the drama, putting simply 10 days later, hero went military service. Isn't it you feel okay? No Why the hell everytime one in feelings go to military to forget his feelings. Is military one of the feelings divert centre?
Drama is forced to end by the shortcut of main leads end.
Only one good point is "Because it's the first time".

He couldn't understand his own feelings and express it well because its first time . but finally both song yi and tea hyun understand their own feelings. Song yi also get to know that she cares more about tea hyun than ji ahn. But her acts are confusing. Tea hyun character is great he is very caring and a loving person. He lost his love because of the friendship. That kind of punishment for such a nice person is so ridiculous. Those things happen in real lives. But at least a drama should give some happy ending for its viewers. Specially some hope to the youth. Truly I hate this drama ending.

But in the end both song yi and Tea hyun understand their true feelings. Song yi is also known that she considers more about Tea hyun than ji ahn but her acts are confusing. Tea hyun is a great character . He loved and cared about song yi alot. And He cares a lot about others than himself. That's why he lost his love. But that kind of punishment for a nice person like him is so ridiculous. But those worse things are also happen in reality. Though ,I think atleast a drama should gives us happy ending, bcause that's what viewers are hoping. I hate this drama a lot. Because it screwed up a wonderful love.....

Tae Oh is pretty juvenile about her feelings for Song Yi and he's a bit of a douche to Se Hyun, but at least he holds back for his friends. He thinks of Song Yi and Yi An first. But Song Yi is just plain weird for me. I don't know if she's just thick or oblivious.

Ella Dec 10 2015 4:49 pm I don't know anything about this drama but I saw the part with Jung Kyoung Ho and Yoon Hyun Min (the 4 episode) with them and I love it :D I saw all the dramas with them: Cruel City, Fall in Love with Soon Jung, Drama Festival 2014: House, Mate and now Because It The First Time...love to see them together :) Cruel City was one of the Best k-dramas ever :)

Hae Gyeong Dec 01 2015 6:39 am One of the best dramas in 2015. Hope they make a sequel pretty soon. I like how every character gets their own complications. The writer delivers the plot of the story very well too. It'll get better for the sequel if Tae Oh will fight more for Song Yi. Basically, Song Yi needs a guy like him, not Ji Ahn. It doesn't mean that Ji Ahn is not qualified, but two complications get together? It'll get more complicated in the end. However, nice stories for all characters! ❤

fay Nov 21 2015 3:30 am this drama is surprisingly good. love triangles kinda piss me off, but the overall feel and the general story-line of bitft is very enjoyable. i don't really get the hate this drama gets, though. it's short, sweet, and enjoyable. 10/10 would recommend.

At first , I begin to watch it because of SHINee Minho, but then I can't help myself from not to fall in love will all of the characters <3 Can't wait for the next episode . I highly recommended this drama to all , it contains a lot of morale values , life , love , friendships , family bonding and so forth . DAEBAK !!!

MJ Oct 22 2015 9:32 pm My favourite drama so far this year! There are lots of other good dramas which are more popular, but personally this drama is just too cute and has surpassed the others. The group of friends in the drama are ultimate squad goals. They easily express the value of friendship which has been maintained since childhood through pure love and acceptance. Highly recommended for it has an amazing cast, a super catchy ost and the storyline has you hooked! The only bad thing is that it has 1 episode per week. Well done to OnStyle for their very first drama.
