Gong Soo-Gwang (Na In-Woo) sells fish at a traditional market. He is known as an unlucky man and, because of this, people try to avoid him. His life wasn't always like that. At one time, he had a bright future. After Gong Soo-Gwang met Lee Seul-Bi, his life totally changed. Whenever he dreams of Lee Seul-Bi, something bad happens to him. For the first time in 7 years, Gong Soo-Gwang meets Lee Seul-Bi again.
Meanwhile, Lee Seul-Bi has a special ability. Whenever she touches someone, she can see that person's near future. She got that special ability from her mother, who also has the same ability. Lee Seul-Bi and her mother have lived in captivity for a long time due to a CEO, who uses their special ability. Lee Seul-Bi is able to escape with her mother’s help. She then meets Gong Soo-Gwang for the first time in 7 years.

Mya Feb 26 2025 2:16 pm The plot is actually promising, but there are too much going on that I skipped so many unnecessary scenes. I feel like if this had 12 eps instead of 16, it would be so much better.
Na In Woo is a Great actor! When he portrayed happy scene, his eyes literally sparkling. Seohyun is great as well. But, I noticed something was a bit off during her serious scene. Figured out, she barely moved her upper lips when talking on serious scene. However, it didn't change the fact that both nailed their characters.
Also, I love how Na In Woo treated Seohyun really well off cam unlike his co-star from Mr Queen.
Wendie Apr 28 2024 4:42 pm I’m not even half way through the show and I already agree with some of the comments here. The show started off nicely, it was sweet and wholesome. But then the writers started adding more and more things to thicken the plot, but too fast that by the end of each episode, I’m just left confused as to what I just watched. I’ve never read the webcomic so I’m not sure how much of the source material they used, but they definitely could’ve left out some stuff or at least spaced it out in more episodes. At this point I’m only watching it because of Na In Woo
Park Min Apr 17 2024 8:53 am Sucked at first sight, actually. It certainly failed to leave a good first impression. The first episode was horrendous in all regards, especially when you get some context later on. Subsequently, this led to all kinds of problems with the narrative. At first, the story presented a big predicament to overcome, as described in the synopsis, what would ML do once he meet her again, but the drama decided to nullify the tension in a record time and turn the drama into a mindless slice of life with bubbly visuals. The unusual romance was never justified, the drama also attempted to play the same scenario for their romance at the end but it only made things worse by creating an unnecessary new diversion that came with it more problems, it just doesn't work unless one of them was mentally challenged. One of the drama's genres is mystery, but there was barely any and what was present was surface level cheap addition.

Like why did Seulbi disappeared and why she became that way afterwards. It would have been amazing. But yes all cast have done great and its worth watching. Loved it.

I really can't tell how the first and second leads are at acting with such a weak and silly script, even though Na In-Woo did well as a replacement in River Where the Moon Rises. I hope that they will get roles where they can shine and we can see the quality of their performances.

After happily together they make seulbi live in geumhwa for half of the drama, then make Sookwang work as the secretary with that rigid character (of course Na In Woo still can pull it with his charming side). Even in the last episode, they make Seulbi forget everything. What a waste of cast! I`d rather watch the behind the scenes. They are really good together. Na in woo, Seohyun fightiing!

Anonymous Aug 04 2022 11:50 am This drama was really great in the beginning. Halfway through is become a bit mediocre. And the end was so-so.
(WARNING SPOILERS AHEAD): I feel like the story would’ve gotten more interesting if min joon would’ve taken on the curse. It would’ve been better to see the flipside of things is the bloodline switched to males having the curse. And instead of the males or whoever taking on the curse going into a catatonic state, to show to what extent could they take the curse. Because in my opinion, the parts with min joon’s father was boring and i just skipped over those parts. Felt like those parts were dragging a bit. The show should’ve been more focused on min joon, seulbi, soo gwang and don shik in my opinion.

Wouldve been better if they kept it like that…then min joon father found out he’s the real father and decides to be on soo gwang’s side to get revenge while letting seul bi stay at the market with him…that’s what i was hoping for but it turned dark lol
wede Jul 20 2022 9:00 pm agree with all the comments here... the first 4-6 episodes were cute and magical, with the story of Seulbi and the market folks, but now it has become a truly incomprehensible mess since the story shifted to Geumhwa group - I don't understand what story is being told anymore. Plus the actors playing Min Joon, his dad, his cousin are all not doing a good job imo - something i imagined to be out of a weekday drama

Due to his height at 1.89m, tall actors may sometimes come across as looking too self-conscious & gawky, but he's a natural & his nice face is also natural. Looking forward to next episodes.

Let me give just one example of this drama’s extraordinary creativity : Seul-Bi, who has lived for 20 years in a cage, is finally out, eating twisted donuts at a food stand. She doesn’t have any social experience, and when other people gather at the same place, it’s an opportunity to show how her behaviour is obviously different from theirs. But here something completely unobvious happens. The clock rings 4 PM and precisely at the dot arrives a boy nicknamed Tick-tock. He is an autistic savant, who is always on time, thus his nickname. Seul-Bi engages a coherent conversation with him at the food stand, to the dismay of the bystanders. Wow ! I’m mind blown by this scene. Any ordinary comedy would be content with showing Seul-Bi as socially inept. But instead, “Jinxed at First” makes the effort to show that her quirkiness is the mark of savants, turning the cheap laughs into amazement.

According to the manhwa Jinx Lovers like Seulbi and her mother bear children when they are 25 years old without the help of any man. Their body just produce a child (only a girl) by themselves. Their child will then produce another offspring when they reach 25 and then generations of Jinx Lovers will be born.

For such a dark background, i am amazed they pulled off the romcom vibe quite magnificently. Perfect casting for Seohyun in Seulbi and Nainwoo's Gongchan. I think this is one of my most anticipated series this year i am looking forward to the following episodes.

And regarding to the character's age does it really matter, Seohyun for me looks a 20 year old moreover if you put her in a school uniform. Ya'll just talking about na in woo, I'm not mad at all I am a big fan of him but Seohyun also deserves the praise. Watch other of her works, you'll know what I'm talking about...

I think a younger actress should act as Seul Bi because Seul Bi is playful and childish. Just my two cents. But if Seohyun can act as Seul Bi then why not?
