Hae-Sung (Yeo Jin-Goo) is a senior high school student. He lives with his grandmother and 4 younger siblings. As the eldest brother, he has a strong sense of responsibility. Although Hae-Sung has good scores at school, he opts to go to a culinary school to support his family rather than college. At the culinary school, he hangs out with 5 friends including Jung-Won (Lee Yeon-Hee). Jung-Won is almost like his girlfriend. On Hae-Sung birthday, Jung-Won prepares a surprise party for him at his house. To keep him away from the house while they prepare, Jung-Won asks Hae-Sung to go to their school and retrieve her wallet. There, Hae-Sung walks into a shocking scene. While trying to get help, Hae-Sung is hit by a car and dies.

Exactly 12 years after Hae-Sung's death, Hae-Sung wakes up on the roof of his school building. He finds himself in the year 2017. Hae-Sung goes back to his family's home, but his family is not there. He has a physical struggle with a man that is living in the house and he is eventually taken to the police station. There, he meets his friend Ho-Bang (Lee Si-Un) who is now a police officer.

Meanwhile, Jung-Won is now 31-years-old and in debt. She still hasn't gotten over Hae-Sung's death. Jung-Won supports herself by working as a kitchen assistant at a restaurant. Min-Joon (Ahn Jae-Hyeon) is the chef and owner of the restaurant. He has feelings for Jung-Won and tells her so, but she rebuffs him due to Hae-Sung.

One night, Jung-Won finds a young man passed out in front of her house. The young man is Hae-Sung.

Erika Oct 17 2024 9:16 am I have a love/hate relationship with kdramas that include a completely unexplained fantasy element in an otherwise real world drama. It almost always involves some sort of time travel. I've mostly come to accept it and for the most part, I accept it on Into The World Again, but I really needed a reason this time as to

  • spoiler* how he returned and why he couldn't stay.

If the reason was just to right the wrongs against him and his family, then that should have been a common element shared by the other returnees. That would have made his leaving again feel less arbitrary.

Despite that, this was a wonderful drama with main leads and supporting cast members that you will truly root for. Yeo Jin Goo gives another moving performance. I suppose the show already had too much going on to really capture the "noona romance" theme and I really loooove those. The romance is definitely PG and I was itching for PG13/TV14 action but at least the few moments of skinship seemed genuine and not goofy.

Their love (although not explicitly stated until the last freaking episode) was unwavering on both sides. I loved the young and adult Jung Jung-Won alike. And Jin-Joo and Kwak Dong Yeon are excellent additions to Any drama.

You will laugh and cry and maybe think 20 hours is a bit too long, but in the end, I can't see why anyone wouldn't enjoy this heartwarming story.

My theory in the end is that Hae Song became the wind. The lyrics of the ending song kinda make it seem so.

Ish Jun 13 2024 4:37 am I liked this drama, the plot is good and interesting with lots of mutual interactions and side stories. I liked Lee Yeon-Hee and the other actors, but particularly her. I don't understand why Korean actresses move me so much, but she certainly does. The problem with the theme of the return of the dead is that we know he can't stay at the end. That's why I prefer the simpler version of reincarnation: he stays and they live happily ever after....

Teume Mar 28 2023 1:36 am the first time I watched this drama, at first it didn't feel right, then it felt like I couldn't. moreover, this drama contains a lot of onions, actually it's not because of the plot but the emotions of FL, every time I see him in this drama he wants to cry, laugh, why does he look the same? that was my first impression of seeing him even though he was sad but his expression was like he was laughing so those of us who watched didn't get that sad feeling hehe. then when he's being funny it looks artificial :D very crisp in my opinion. but I see him in every drama he plays he always becomes FL and the comments of people who see his acting in the drama are the same as me. he lacks in managing facial expressions. emotion. etc. but regardless of the FL character. I really enjoyed this drama, as soon as I watched the second one, it started to look connected, sad, and a little funny. and now I'm watching for the third time. This drama is actually very good, depending on the character of the FL. for me he is lacking in expression. sorry this is not meant to be bad but I want to give an honest review. yeo jingoo the sweetest smile, his acting really doesn't need to be doubted. for ahn jaehyun he's also good but i prefer him in CAFK hehe

Moreover, there is friendship like reply 1988. This is similar to anime movie "the flower we saw that day" and japanese drama "under the miracle cherry tree" . But trust me This Is Way More Better and More Emotional.

Again: Yeo Jin Goo, a stunning acting as always. He really is an amazing actor. Whatever he plays, he never disappoints me. He is one of my fav korean actors, gorgeous looks, charismatic. A huge fan from Belgium!

I'm not sure if it's the story or the female lead that was the problem in this kdrama. They didn't pulled it off like the younger male/older female story of 18 Again. Though I think Jang Na-ra would have been perfect for the role Jung Jung Won. I would be able to watch it from episode 1 til end.

uhlala May 11 2020 1:02 pm the sibling problem is quite similar to daily drama "ugly alert". the oldest brother who really cares her siblings goes "missing", framed as murderer, and come back again to meet the siblings. the younger brother, who's apparently the big problem, is successful and doesn't want to admit the older brother but actually the younger brother is the culprit.

I wouldn’t mind watching the series again in the future. It is one of those drama that leaves lingering feeling and provides closure at the same time.

Spent 2 nights just to watch this drama.. um well, the story is kinda cheesy and i'm not into the story buuuut! All of the actors are amazing! especially yeo jin goo! (i love his angelic smile really T_T) No awkwardness despite the quite-big age gap between his character and he himself (his real self).. O.M.G How can all the actors act like Jingoo is really their same-age friends? It's sooo AMAZING how when their eyes meet, they weren't not shaking at all.. Ah.. LILY Sep 28 2018 9:49 pm OMG i so did not expect much from this drama because i don't like older women/younger men romance BUT i've been converted. Lee YeonHee and Yeo JinGoo had GREAT chemistry even though she's older by 9 years IRL. I loved all the characters and their development throughout the drama and the humor and romance. I have a habit of skipping through the episode if it's boring but I watched the whole thing and enjoyed ever bit of this drama. This drama is really underrated and has become one of my favorite dramas. Highly recommended 9/10.

Lilo Aug 10 2018 1:42 pm i think this is recommended, even 40eps i enjoy watched it. all casts act so well, the story is good but one that is my criticism is LYH (main actress) not suitable with his role. she is good but not best at all, maybe in others drama she is good. Chae-yoon (young jung woon) is good, she can improve and suitable with his role and build his character but LYH is not. maybe becuase his partner is younger than she is ? or she got an inappropriate role or character? hmmm 

the point is, you must watch by urself.

Its originally for 32 eps but i think wwws is not yet ready so they extended, which doesnt really help the story line. Anyways, just dont mind the part of jung won ( acting is annoying ) and you will just be fine watching this.

Kris Dec 01 2017 12:07 pm I wasn't so sure about the drama, but still watched it for Yeo Jin-Goo. Since he was jung, he was an exceptional actor. So far, i enjoyed most of his projects. Well so far, almost every single one of them. What made me waver was the female lead, 이연희. At first I really thought her acting was just lazy. I simply felt like she just blindly stated her emotions without even trying to actually convey them. But later in the drama I realised, that she is actually portraying a lost character. She is playing the role of a lost, unsure female. A female who just couldn't move on. Someone who is stuck in his jung, 19 year old mind. Those here who are a little older should know that feeling. The feeling we've got after just graduating. Being still unsure about the future. Having somewhat of a plan, but still not being that sure about it. Having to compete with colleagues, who seem more advanced in their knowledge, by far. Or trying to adjust to the academic standards of research and validation in college. She is actually still that 19 year old child, who wants to be someone, wants to prove him-/herself but is still lost in that big wide world. Since his death she can't move on and is stuck. She portrays this aspect quite well. This drama got me really hooked

I agree that I wasnt so into romance because I didnt really like main actress's acting (I dont even exactly know why) but I loved all relationships between Ha Seung and the rest :)

Her acting was kinda awkward and sometimes I can't really feel the emotion in the story because of her. The storyline was a bit slow but still okay. Cons: - bad acting by cast (director do a very bad job with talented cast) - Even though drama is all about "dragging storyline", they drag it too much so high chance viewers gonna stop watching before interesting part come. - and yes, weak storyline, weak dialog script (well, this a "light" drama anyway, so) - 40 episodes (20 in actual form) itself can be consider as joke of century.

Conclusion: Simply forgotten. Unless you a big fan of one of the actors, you gonna need lot of coffee to make you stay awake watching it. (-_^)

Ayoko Sep 22 2017 6:42 am It could be open ending but personally I think that Jung Won only imagines/dreams about being with Hae Sung once again - it was only her imagination since she misses him so much even after one year. At the last scene he didnt say anything and Jun Won wasnt so much suprised to see him so thats why I think its her imagination. But I like this kind of ending - it was probably the most logical ending for this drama since there were other people who came back and vanished so it would be logical if Hae Sung would stay. I thank the drama Gods that it is not a gut churner, which is a big part of why I have enjoyed each episode. do dramas need to be gut churners to be considered worth watching. If anyone takes issue with the talent in this one they are just nuts. All and I mean All of the actors are wonderful. The story is gentle and healing, just what I need as an American living thru the nightmare of a President in my country now. If you need a drama that wraps you up and makes you feel (just for a few moments) safe watch this. It amazes me that when we needed it most there was this to watch. It is not dull it is not slow. It is perfect.

Binero Sep 10 2017 2:42 pm I'm 5 episodes in and already bored with all these dragged out scenes. I have to say all these clishee k-drama scenes are getting on my nerves. And I hate the typical asian martial arts fighting effects in which people fly around because of a poke. The physics are just too bad. Hae Sungs grins are kinda unnerving but I guess that just because he just is this overly good smiling character. In the end I feel like I just know where the story goes after watching the first episode. It's exhausting. I won't watch anymore.

On the previous episode, Ho Bang said that there are two fingerprint on the statue, but one of them is unidentified. But Tae Hoon said that he only push Yang Chul, not hit him with something. I don't know... I hope Tae Hoon is not the real murderer too.

Happy to see him with young in.. he look nice and kind.. there something suspicious about park dong seok... ho bang and jinjoo relationship look so fun haha.. hope haesung will not leave them??

It has an amazing plot and each epiaode ia giving a whole level up. Tbh this has been a good drama and i would recommend everyone to watch this. I still do not understand what is all the fuss about the age gap, since it is a fantastic drama; so, why not? Despite that, I love Yeo Jin-Goo and I love the fact that he dares to challenge himself. Impressive how he is trying to extend his work portfolio by tackling more modern-day dramas and he really does a good job. Although he still is the prince of historical dramas, I salute his courage for not limiting himself in that genre and for trying other genres this year (from science-fiction in 'Circle' to fantastic in 'Reunited Worlds'). I am not a big fan of Lee Yeon Hee acting, but she is a veteran actress; so I trust the casting decision (but sometimes I feel that she has more chemistry with Ahn Jae-Hyun. Am I the only one?). The comic relief is also welcome ("Brazilian wax couple" LOL). The mystery about the lead-male death and his reappearance is what got me hooked, I hope the next episodes will not be a disappointment. Love this drama!!! Writer-nim, fighting! PD-nim,fighting! Reunited Worlds' cast, fighting!

The whole story is very unrealistic tbh. The main character Jung Won likes Hae Sung when she was young but 12-13 years has gone and she is now 30, how the heck does she flutters by a guy who is 18yo, like she gets all shy and everything. Everything changes, it makes no sense she still likes Hae Sung.

Why do you guys like Jin Goo.. He's a kiddo ffs

And I don't know why there are people who don't get the theme of the drama, big age gap, unrealistic plot. YALL! this is a FANTASY romance theme drama, so inside the drama some characters are NOT HUMAN! which they can be anything like My Love From The Star (Alien x Human), Legend of the Blue Sea (Mermaid x Human), and the "people/human" charaters in the drama will just accept the fact that they are living with something like "ghost/alien" or anything. Because it is FANTASY!!! Fiction!!! So don't be surprised if the characters came back from the dead, and the leads have big age gap, again this is FANTASY!!! The story should be beyond humanity. If you guys want MORE realistic drama then go watch a drama/family theme.

A bizarre & unrealistic plot as it may seems, the values & spirit that comes with it is totally humanistic & realistic. A story of true love, friendship & relationship, tragic & sad moments, and on the need to move on and be happy. How one needs to value the past & yet live in the present. How everything happens for a reason- the past as well as the present. YJG is amazing for a young actor....he is indeed a character actor. I truly admire his acting. LYH is great too...a natural.... Really nice acting but too sad to keep on watching. Sigh...

Firstly the directing effort is subpar given that the director had already done several works before. There were so many awkward editing throughout. Camera lingers on the wrong moments, making a scene forced and awkward, and sometimes exposing or magnifying the actors' weaknesses in their profession.

To compound that, the writing is just a puzzle to me. Too many parts of the story is illogical. I'm especially referring to people's reaction to seeing a dead person come back to life - knowing that the body was lying in the coffin and cremated. Yet, no word was handled on that. One can't simply ignore the physical impossibility of that unless... maybe, time travel? Yet the show indicates nothing of that and makes the characters ignore this blatant fact in the first place. All of them including the central character himself were like, uhm, what? a little confused, a little taken aback, and then oh, welcome back! It is clear that the writer wants to focus on the fact that the dead comes back to life to fix what's broken, but you can't just skim through some important elements. It feels that many scenes were created just to show a desired image but were just put together awkwardly. They could just have put the story whereby the main character went into a coma and wake up or came back from a disappearance, and it probably would work out much better. Because then, the reaction of everyone involved will be much more believable.

This is the first time I'm watching both the director's and writer's joint effort and it is disappointing. It can be a warm and touching show but I can't go past the overall obvious flaws.

Let me think.. I can say so far that he went back because of the comet (Jung made a wish and granted I think) or there is one mystery forced because he needs to solve the murder and I think the car passanger has something to do with the murder

Yeo jin too is really amazing, but I don't think ahn jae hyeon is fitted here because I don't see any chemistry he is a good actor and good looking one but i don't feel him in this dram

J-02 Jun 30 2017 1:29 pm I think the drama would include time travel like in OCN drama 'Tunnel'. So it makes sense that the main characters were born on the same year but have big age gap. It match with the title too. Or probably, Yeo Jin Goo might play a clone again.

Btw, when they say 'same year', they meant 'same chinese zodiac' for instance if the girl's age is 31 today (at year: 2017) she then is born in the year of tiger and the boy is probably born in 1986 which is in the same year of the tiger. ?
