Mo Seok-Hee (Lim Soo-Hyang) is an only child and her father runs the large company MC Group. She is beautiful, smart and rich. Mo Seok-Hee appears like she is arrogant, but she struggles over her mother's death. Her mother was killed 15 years ago.
Heo Yoon-Do (Lee Jang-Woo) is a lawyer, but he doesn't even have an office. He solves small problems of neighborhood residents at a restaurant. He is full of love. Miraculously, Heo Yoon-Do is headhunted to join the TOP team at MC Group. The TOP team manages the affairs of the family who runs the MC Group. Their job includes covering up immoral or illegal behaviors done by the family. Han Je-Kook (Bae Jong-Ok) heads the TOP team.
Mo Seok-Hee and Heo Yoon-Do work together to reveal the truth of what happened when Mo Seok-Hee’s mother was killed.

Despite the big hole in Ha Young-Seo's role as the main perpetrator of An Jae-Rim's murder, this drama is one of Kim Jin-Woo's brilliant performances.

Park Min May 05 2023 8:55 am The premise of this "top" team is absurd and to make this story a functional and coherent one with such a premise would be a monumental task which this drama obviously failed to achieve and ended up being trashy. There's a lot of mystery going on but this one was the bad kind of mystery, not really a proper mystery anyway. Everyone slipping all the time, the culprits were kinda obvious, and the revelations were lame. Everything was over explained as if the viewers were toddlers. The flashiness and pazaz can be easily classified as cringe. Speaking of which, Lee Jang Woo throughout his entire acting career seems to be a very reliable cringe magnet, so no surprise here.

They can manage shares, appoint who will be the CEO of MC group, and so on

Mo Wan Joon's secret had been revealed that he was a transgender, I'm speechless about this (why the writer should make him as transgender role in the drama ??) . 2. Seok Hee's biological father is her grandfather, Mo Wang Pyo and she is adopted by her mother Ahn Jae Rim 3. I never think of Mo Wan Joon as the real murderer because he was very kind to Seok Hee and he always be on Seok Hee's side since she was a teenager. I think this drama should be extended for more episode because we didn't know what happened to Mo Wang Pyo after comma and how about the management of MC group especially for the next CEO and director of MC group after all the villain maincasts go to jail
zzz Aug 08 2021 4:32 am I watched from ep1 to 5, and I'd say it's pretty boring. Then I skipped to ep16 and started to watch backward lol. The last 2 episodes are very very interesting, also ep11 where the 2nd son 'secret' revealed. Indeed I agreed that the plot twist is shocking and interesting. I pitied both of the sons. The first son is always compared to the 2nd son and not received any love from his mother, but he is very supportive to his younger siblings. I really like the 1st son story & character. Sad that 2nd son felt 'threatened' by 1st son and always criticize his brother's work. If only they can support each other (because they're both actually walking in the same fragile glass), probably we can get a happier ending for both of them. I think I able to grasp the whole main story just by watching ep1-5, few scenes from ep11,15,16. Overall, I think this drama has a great plot twists, but I'm not patient enough with the story building.

There were a lot of plot twists and savage Seok Hee was a character I really enjoyed watching. Im SooHyang is amazing in her role and her acting is really on point. I like Lee Jung Woo the male lead’s acting and Bae Jong Ok is a really good villain here. The supporting actors were great too, felt sad for Wan Soo’s ending though. Solid 10/10

Very satisfied though I feel bad to Wansoo, like he only has pure love to his Mom and he is kind but ended up in vain, I cried so much. Also, I kinda noticed that Soohyang's screentime got few in the middle of the story from ep 10-13 i think, it's understandable because the title is Graceful family and they must show the story of each characters not Sukhee and Yundo. Though I waited for their kiss and finally got it in the last minutes of the last ep xD Love this dramaaaa, though I feel bad it's not popular, People Are Missing This Amazing Drama <3 Soohyang eonni, Hwaiting!!
Patricia Sep 12 2020 9:26 pm I missed this drama when it first came out in 2019 — or should I say, avoided? I'm watching it a year later upon recommendation. Is this a parody or something — how overly melodramatic can a Kdrama get?! And every time that singer starts screaming the constantly used "Black Diamond," I have to turn the sound off. They obviously didn't put a lot of effort into their OST. I've been watching Kdramas for 15 years and I'd easily put this one almost at the bottom of the list of the thousands I've seen. I've dared myself to see this drama through to the end, but it's going to be really painful. 화이팅!

I love them all, this drama is fantastic I'll give it a 10.

So Lala May 07 2020 4:49 am Bad luck at its finest... What a pity for Wansoo, I'm quite into him, hos character has its own charm and wounds and and Lee Gyu Han nailed it. It's my first drama with him, i'll look forward to his other role.
In the end I can't hate anybody, even Han Jekook... But is she even human... That Baek Jong Ok is an indeed senior actor, she really nailed the role. She really caught my attention in this first time watching experience.
That's why in my second time later I will focus more on the lead role. Seokhee and Yoondo's chemistry is so well-fitted. It's sweet but not becoming dragging or cringy. And I think I'm gonna protest later after my second watch because their screentime was not so many hahaha I want more

Ariane Dec 11 2019 9:47 am I'm not totally fan of Korean Actors and Actresses. I don't know anything about their movies, I don't like watching Korean Drama. The only Korean Actor I know is Lee Min Ho, he is my ultimate crush way back then. But I didn't spend a lot of time watching his movie and drama like the way I spend in watching Mo Seok Hee and Heo Yoon-Do. Mo Seok Hee and Heo Yoon-do are unique. I only saw on fb the drama clips of the other part of the scene and then I search for the full episode. Looking forward to more projects of Ms. Lim Soo-Hyang and Lee Jang-Woo.

(especially ''Mo Seok-Hee'' ) I was hoping for a season 2 when i saw the end part ( but i'm sure that they wont have a season 2 based from all the dramas I've watched hehe and uhm even if it did have a season 2 it would be a miracle ) and i kind of got mad a little since Wan-Soo died ? and i cried A LOT i mean why was Ha Young-Seo so mean to wan-soo and treating him like garbage saying he's 'imperfect' a 'failure' and all of those mean things ???But other than that thank you for making elegant family so Amazing ❤❤?

She has a long way to go to rise up and go against MC group. I dont even think she has a reason to go near MC group. Mo wan joon and his mom are gone. She cant use someone to fight mo soek hee. She doesnt want to be CEO if she did she would have done it. She wants power. But her puppets are gone. By the time she rises Mo Seok Hee’s reign on MC group will become the worlds greatest empire. Illegal things always get caught so Seok Hee wont use them.

Director Han and her minions will be out and about to do more crimes and covering them up i guess haha overall, i love this drama. The ending may not be as satisfying as to punishing the bad guys, but story-wise its good.

Kyland Oct 19 2019 10:46 pm I get why people are complaining about the ending. But that is the thing. Most people who commit crimes... especially long term criminals (which this group is) aren't going to have a change of heart. Us viewers like to think so, but these people have already passed the point of feeling regret for their actions. They have psychologically justified that everything they have done, it was to protect MC Group (for the decade at least). In essence they have brainwashed themselves they were all necessary to protect MC and it's employees. So there is no guilt let at all.

Flora Oct 19 2019 5:35 am @Angel That is what most of the people like. Whatever happens in the end the two lead characters will reunite again. I work in a tv station and I know how it works. Even if the Directors or the Writers have different plan for them but just for the viewers they have to make it a happy ending with the lead characters kissing each other. The viewers love happy ending and a few kiss here and there.

I waited till the end hoping to see her imprisoned and in pain... yet she was arrogant and unbelievably obnoxious to the very end.. and yes I also felt that the the post credit scene was horrible...I was revolted by her smugness

I endured watching this over the top drama with the hope of seeing director han and her stupid helpers pay for all their crimes... but the ending was so tepid and lame... they even tried to pull a “fast & furious” scene after the credits!?! It was not a satisfying conclusion after all the terrible things that top did... poor drama to say the least...

What a mess of a drama. Frustrating to the very end... so Heo Yoon’s mother served 15 yrs and the almost “omnipotent” director han and her annoying minions get 4 yrs and less than 2 yrs respectively... after covering up murder, blackmail, obstruction of justice, media manipulation, etc. this is serious BS... And then they wanted to paint them as “cool” as they are coming out of jail... who writes this crap... for all it’s social “commentary” the drama fell into the typical pitfalls... the “bad” guys/ girls get a slight pat in the back and all is well, the protagonists “must have” a random period of time apart and then meet up in the end... We didn’t even get to see director han suffer one bit... she deserved far more.. considering all the crap she did

Their chemistry was ehhhhhhhhhhhh-ok, but I didn't really feel like they had much of a romantic relationship. They were more like two friends that had the same goal and enemy. The romance wasn't convincing enough. Lim Soo Hyang had better pairings.

Episode 16 was like a roller coaster ride for me. I feel so sad for seok hee when wan soo died. Because deep down, she cares about him and he was the only one in the family that seems like a real family. She hoped he would pay his time in jail but instead he decided to end his life. Honestly, i like wan soo in this drama. He's just a sad human being who wanted to be loved but made a really bad decision. In the end, he finally achieved what he wanted so bad; which is to be recognised as a movie director and also his mother's love. But sadly, he wasnt there anymore :(

TOPteamisthebest Oct 18 2019 7:01 am This Drama is really good. There was never a dull moment. Every episode had some kind of twist (though some of which you can easily guess) but apart from that this Drama was fantastic! The crew did a wonderful job. I totally recommend this Drama.

That's a good question. In one of the episodes it was revealed that she sees herself as king-maker and her pathology is that she gets off on the power. But there is more. She regards her position somewhat like a guard charged to protect MC Group.
Somehow she as fashioned a philosophical framework which justifies her actions in a similar way that a warrior might on the battlefield.
However, the rules in war do not apply in business. You can't just kill people that threaten your profit margin. And that is where Ms. Han went wrong IMHO.

It showed me constant plot twist, which made me curious about what's going to happen next. You won't regret watching this drama, but you will regret not watching it.

Either the writer doesn't know the meaning of the term transgender or the characters are written to have a misconception of transgenderism. In any case, I would say Won-Joon is a poof with a thing for men with gender dysphoria (GD).

Wil Oct 10 2019 8:08 pm I can understand some people liking this drama a lot, but to me it's just a basic drama, still watchable, but a little too much dragging and repeating the same places and same predictable plot, It's not a bad drama tho, I just think it lacks of actions, too much talking, too blend and simple, sometimes I get much bored because too much talking, slow and dragging, sometimes it's nice, to be honest I'm getting tired of seeing the villain always winning even after 10 episodes, Mrs. Han 10, Mo Suk Hee 0 pffft... I don't know maybe the writers are still rookies? The cast actors and actress are very good tho! Anyway nice drama to watch when I'm bored, but nothing more...

Nery Oct 07 2019 5:05 pm I have watched every episode up to episode 13 and find myself fast-forwarding almost every scene. I don't know if it's just my personal preference but it has a slow pace. I do enjoy the three-dimensional characters and how much everyone's story is developing.

Sila Oct 04 2019 3:50 pm so my conclusion until now. the eldest son is the killer thats why he is not recognized in the familly. thats why he was so sad and had tears in his eyes next day of the murderer and was the only one who comforted seok hee. i think that he killed her to get his moms attention. Because seok hee's mom found out the true about the 2nd son, being gay. the father knows that his son is the killer. but he dosn't know why, so he was the one who asked ms. Han to cover up for the Eldest son. so the reason they got ride of seok hee was, so she wouldn't ruin their plan. (to avoid any mistake). if my conclusion is right. then i have wasted my time watching a drama with nothing new.

So they used her barrenness to kick her out and replace with the mistress and at the time this happened she found out she was pregnant with Suk-hee. I think the mum was ok with being out the house and raising Suk-her by herself but the grandfather wanted her to come back and bring in Suk-hee

Mo Seok Hee is talking to Heo Yoon Do at the end.. She clearly said “Ha Young Seo (the first wife?!) not being strong enough anymore and dealing with this hypocrisy..” when she really meant to say is Choi Na-Ri, who Heo Yoon Do was supposed to *confirm* the relationship between her and the first son to his CEO Han GE Kook. Did I miss something? Why should Seok Hee be mad at Yoon Do about ‘Ha Young Seo’s personal matters?! They continued filming, and the mistake is forever stuck in celluloid.

But one thing, I never imagined he would be a transgender (like its not a bad thing) I am just surprised and I never thought such a twist in this Drama. This is so amazing everyday with every episode there is always a twist..

The different themes of gender, wealth and power gives an over view about how society overall functions. Many talked about how the main female lead was given power to the heir, however in many chinese traditions male are always more favor than female.

It will be interesting to get some backstory behind them especially Han Je-Kook if the drama will ever do that but as of now I'm not buying it. You can't switch like that considering she is an ex-judge. If it's about money then that's is just extremely lazy writing. Hopefully, they have some sort of reason for doing what they're doing outside of money since they serve a chaebol family which is the obvious and lazy reason. Other than that, this drama is REALLY good right now. I cannot stop watching.

The copy rights to the drama has been sold to 8 countries so far and it's a great achievement for MBN. Im Soo Hyang never fails to amaze me with her excellent acting. She nails every role given to her. The other casts are doing a great job too and most of them are veterans and experienced. This drama has the highest rating so far in MBN as the last highest drama in MBN Tears of Heaven in 2014 achieved 3.3%. And Graceful Family is just starting to get more interesting.

Not only is she beautiful inside and outside, but her acting skills is amazing. She is really under rated but now she is finally getting the recognition she deserves. I like the plot and the pace of the drama. No boring moments. Very interesting. The casts are solid. The veterans are experienced and good actors. Looking forward to more episodes.
