There, she meets Teacher Tsubota. Besides her mother, Teacher Tsubota is the first adult to praise her. Sayaka begins to change. She studies hard and eventually passes an entrance exam for Keio University.

Dean grey Mar 30 2023 5:26 am I wish they made new movies like this. Too many movies are femcel or misandry films. Bring fun and beauty back
Mike Dec 10 2021 7:28 am Wonderful movie. Feel good movie. Loved Kasumi Ariyama, Atsushi Ito, and the very loving Mom, Yo Yoshida. Great film that made me laugh, cry, and finally, cheer and feel great ending. This is the type of film, if I was a screenwriter, that I would be proud to have written. Thank you all for this wonderful film.

Steven Thauberger May 30 2017 2:25 pm One of the best films from Japan that I have ever seen so far. I have been trying to find more information about this remarkable story, as it appears to be based upon a true story, or so I am led to believe. I have not found anything online yet that is helpful. Mostly on various Social Media is brief description about what the movie is about and that's it, nothing further. As a result of my failed searches so far, I am becoming increasingly more curious and intrigued by this inspirational story.

Aditya Nugraha May 03 2016 11:35 pm Great Movie. Every youth and families should watch this.
Bluefin Apr 23 2016 11:23 pm I found this movie after seeing arimura's new trailer for natsumi firefly. Honestly the premise is not too appealing for me as it sounds predictable, however I tried to see it anyway. This movie is so relatable, that "trying to go to the best uni" phase is one of my past memories also.. kasumi's acting is so good, along with atsushi as the main pair, I like how both characters influence each other in the story. Sayaka's family is also a familiar case for me and probably many, as parents often try to push certain future career for their kids.. I like how tsubota words of encouragement and yeah although it has predictable end, eventually this movie is a pleasant experience in a non preachy way.. it got my eyes watered (not crying, just bit wet..ehem)

Matthew SPAHN Nov 19 2015 11:26 am Last week, I saw this movie on an EVA Airways flight from New York to Taipei. I found the movie inspirational and entertaining. A well-made film that is worth owning. And when I learned that it was based on a true story, I endeavored to purchase a DVD with English subtitles. Unfortunately, I have been unable to find a DVD of Biri Gal with English subtitles. Certainly, it exists since EVA Airways and Korean Airlines are showing the film with English subtitles for their in-flight entertainment.
If anyone knows of a source where I can procure this DVD with English subtitles, I would be most appreciative.
David C Sep 13 2015 6:04 am Saw Biri Gal as an in-flight movie on EVA Airline from Philippines to Taiwan. It had english and traditional chinese subtitles.
I want to share this movie with my employees but I failed to find a Blu-ray with the appropriate english subtitles. I hope a Blu-Ray (for outside Japan) will come some day, it's a great movie.
