Choi Yee-Jae (Seo In-Guk) grew up in a poor family background, but he had a bright and kind personality. After 7 years of failing to find a decent job, he is now full of desperation and despair. He decides to end his life Choi Yee-Jae thought everything would be over after taking his own life, but, after his death, he faces the being Death (Park So-Dam), who is standing in front of the gate to Hell. He is given the punishment to experience death 12 more times through different bodies. If he wants to avoid going to Hell, he must survive.

SPOILER ALERT
The plot with him catching the serial killer. All those episodes were kind of pointless because in the end Choi Yee-Jae was just allowed to return to his own body, meaning Park Tae-U never ended up getting caught? So that entire subplot meant nothing as entertaining as it was. They should probally have went with the sad ending, or just cut out Park Tae-U.
Still really enjoyed this, but the ending kind of undermined a lot of the series.

It really has an interesting story premise and good lessons to learn about our life, especially for suicidal people like me. Like other people who watched the drama, it made me realize the importance of life and presence for our loved ones, so I really shouldn't commit suicide. The series also made me have a huge crush on Lee Do-hyun. I badly need a Season 2 of "Death's Game." 10/10.
P.S. It's been three months since I finished the drama, but I'm commenting only now because it's still the best drama I've ever watched. This drama has a special place in my heart; no one can match it. Other Lee Do-hyun dramas, like "18 Again," "Melancholia," and "The Good Bad Mother," are great, but "Death's Game" really holds a special place in my heart. I just can't move on from it.

Okay, now about the series, it's definitely engaging. I want to see what kind of life he'll have next. I do feel sorry for the MC, Yee-jae and everyone irl who are feeling the same helplessness. Some might think his problems aren't the worst in the world but that is how his circumstances are making him feel and when you're overwhelmed with sadness, it's hard to see other's perspectives.
I think this series helps in reminding people that when you end your life, you're causing others' misery. Perhaps the pain ends for you, but not for the people you care about. I wish they also explored the perspective of someone who doesn't have anyone. What could motivate someone to keep struggling with life if they're truly alone in the world?

Certain deaths in the middle were like they inserted a horror movie in the middle. No trouble with the airplane, school kid, etc… Art? Really? I managed the last 2, almost two episodes. The acting great. Not surprised seen the cast in other things. The storyline great. Message great. Ending great.

cons: all of episode 5 (edge lord slasher movie violence) and the rest of the serial killer plot throughout the middle. because of that it feels like any emotional scenes are just there to troll you. the killer looks like patrick bateman and is a 1 dimensional chaebol. death is a surly goth.

He has a family and a loved one who will long and yearn for him indeed that is true and for those who doesn't have anyone so its excuse thst they should give up on their life? How about the baby? The baby has parents but who caused the baby's death? Even if she ended up being abandoned... She will learn to appreciate life and all its struggles. How about in real life, kids in warn torn countries who has lost their parents their families... Do they give up on life? No they strive to survive.

VJ Jan 12 2024 1:36 pm This TV show is impressive. It's a perfect story and links all incidents together. The last death he gets into his mom's body. He can see from his mom's perspective. I think that part was the best. While some might feel bored, I think that is the most convincing moment to make him realize what he did.

Rachel Jan 08 2024 11:26 am Loved it. I suffer from periods of severe depression, so I sometimes wanted to scream at Death for not understanding the main character’s feelings. She just seemed so insensitive. But that was the point of the character. She was not meant to be empathetic. She was meant to teach the main character that dying is not the answer. Anyway, the story really did a good job reminding the viewers that dying hurts the people left behind the most. And the story was just…it was absolutely amazing. I’ll definitely be rewatching this drama soon.

More importantly, it teaches us to value our life. “Death” is so brutal here especially on Yee Jae’s final “life”. The only downside here was the protagonist’s feelings wasn’t validated and it seemed what he did was wrong. I think this is also the concern for other viewers. But I think, they want to show the viewers that there is nothing good in taking your own life. That no matter how hard life could be, we shouldn’t take it on our own. Anyway, I like this series. One of the bests so far.

The plot is saved by the performances ,which if they were not portrayed by talented actors would have just been very dark and gloomy
Other than a few strong performances this show is actually tedious and boring and excruciating violent

Especially in the last episode, it was described so deeply and realistically how a mother's love and struggle for her child is. Can't stop crying and remembering mother's struggle. It is very good for cleansing our hearts and souls so that we are more enthusiastic about living our lives for our loved ones.

Keri Jan 05 2024 9:12 am Finished all the episodes today, from part 1 to part 2 coz I hate waiting for the next episodes. And it's worth the wait. Haven't got the chance to read the webtoon, but I guess the writer and the director lived up to the webtoon story because it was well-written. And the characters hit the spots on their acting. I didn't know I miss Kim Jae-Wook as a psychotic killer, and Lee Jae-Wook and Jang Seung-Jo's fighting scenes, feasts to the eyes! Well-written, well-acted, well-directed, and full of life's lessons. No boring moments and will keep you on your seat until the end. Highly recommended to watch and learn a trick or two in handling life's situations.

Each one of them brought their specific talent to the table , as to watching a lead actors one after another , just love it , I wish Jang hyuk , So min , hwang jung min , Ha jung woo , Kim woo bin , huin bin , IU , Yo ah in , Kim Jung huyn , shin Hye sun , seo ye ji , Lee sun kyung , Han ji min , Lee byung hun , Kim soo huyn , and Rain and Kim tae hee , few of my most loved actors take part too . The direction, the cinematography, the casting is perfect! This is the best kdrama of 2023 and I say this despite having watched only 4 episodes. 10/10 recommended.

I was jonghyun's fan,and his death is on 17th dec,it is so close with the drama's airing time..idk,i just cant help thinking his family watch this and feel sad.
tashi hambon Dec 20 2023 11:35 am all i want to say is that the SFX is soooo amazing like they all look so real. for example the part where the assassin dude get shot in the head, the blade thing in the prison workshop, and the freefall dude splattering on the ground. also the cgi part for when they at death's place. i think one of the best ive seen in kdramas. amazing. 10/10
isy Dec 19 2023 9:17 pm this drama is so disappointing! every episode is incredibly repetitive! the “story line” of each character is incredibly boring especially episode 3, and made me want to drop this drama. this should’ve been made as a movie. this drama does not deserve the high ratings that it’s getting.

Park so dam as the death character amazed me the most, when I first read the plot prior to the release of the drama I was like park so dam is young and small for such a big and strong character as death but wooow, she really pulled it off I honestly wasn't expecting that and her make up team really did well making her look the part and her actions and expression is 10/10....all in all I can't wait to watch the rest I'm so eager, finally a deserving drama to end the year.
