Hyun-Ji (Kim So-Hyun) studied for most her life before she died at the age of 19. She is now a ghost and has wandered around the world for several years. Hyun-Ji then meets exorcist Park Bong-Pal (TaecYeon). Hyun-Ji and Bong-Pal listens to various stories from ghosts and sends them to the otherworld.

Also, i find it si weird that bongpal fell in love with a ghost and went on a date like watching movies together. I was embarrassed when people starting to notice him talking alone TT

Story is decent, acting is good but the script not that good. It has too many plot holes. Also sometimes hangs.

I almost drop this drama few times because of those two idiot GhostNet/SundaeSoup club members. I mean can you write unfunniest two characters? They are stupid, act like 8 years old on steroids. Their lines are stupid and most of the time irritates. I like Kang Ki-Young but not in this drama.

Anyways, I'd give a 7 out of 10.

BookHeart Jan 17 2023 1:24 am This started well but ended up being another hare-brained cheesy story where the ML becomes a stalker and the FL experience Stockholm Syndrome after waking up from a coma. Seriously, if a guy you don't know keeps on visiting you and insisting that you know each other, what do you call that? A Stalker.

Besides, the villain is underused. He's only just smirking or his eyes getting big at certain people every time. Only Chun Sang and In Rang, and somehow the Monk are doing their best to lift up this show. Taec Yeon's acting is so-so bordering on overacting. Kim So Hyun tried her best but her acting here reminds me of Go Ara--and not in a good way.

Finished it for the sake of OCD.

the reason am asking the above is because i dont have the chance to read the webtoon on account of its not translated so am hoping the drama has everything so i wouldnt miss out

Meh Aug 12 2021 7:21 am had the impression that this would be interesting to watch but boyyy i was extremely wrong!!! very slow paced that it gets boring. frustrating characters esp Hyun Ji’s - there was NO character development, she was supposed to have done taekwondo growing up but when she was kidnapped she wasn’t able to do anything - even properly scream she wasnt able to do. she’s my least favorite character here.

dont get me started on how the evil spirit was revealed, it took them more than 10 episodes to fully reveal and expose the evil spirit without anything climatic happening in between.

in the end, i found myself rushing through the episodes hoping the pace would change only to be disappointed. nonetheless, i still finished it so watch at your own risk.

It felt more like the guy was an older brother rather than a love interest. The ones who really shined were the comedic duo. Really loved them.

this couple is truly the best, i love how the writer keeps the romance on point with all the ju hye sung and ghost busting plot going on, it works a balance and its something im waiting for. every episode i lost my voice for aww-ing so much for this playful, romantic and fun couple. cheon sang and in rang was the best bromance people could ever ask !! the two main leads' chemistry really hid the age gap they have. tacyeon is a very fun person so i bet kim so hyun is having fun too !!

thank you for this kdrama ! i was hesitant watching this because it has ghosts but none of them scares me at all !! i think that the comedy afterwards and in between horror scenes makes up for it. for those who are afraid to watch this due to the ghosts, dont be! im a scaredy cat who watch this during midnight and had good dreams haha.

cant wait for more kdramas like this. lighthearted and fun with a twist of mystery !! ju hye sung did well. hwaiting!

Jhelyn Feb 14 2018 5:34 am Lots of questionable scene bordering to ridiculousness. She is a ghost but the writer creates scenes as if she's alive. I'm stuck in finishing the drama. :( Comedy part is the only thing I find satisfactory in this drama.

LuCi Nov 28 2017 8:16 pm For most criticisms it receives - shallow and predictable plot, unconvincing acting, lack of chemistry between the main leads - I expected them before hand given the show's comedy-oriented theme and the leads' age gap so I won't take those points against the drama.

However, there were lots of frustratingly questionable scenes in this drama, especially those involving Hyun Ji borderlining between a virtually strong, immortal ghost and vulnerable girl. The lake drowning scene really did it for me. She's a ghost so she won't die. And given that she won the fight against Bong Pal, she should've been able to handle the situation anyway.

With all that said, it's not a downright terrible drama so I think I'll still be able to watch it until the end. But it's definitely not something I would recommend to others.

I was kinda paranoid about the age difference and it would annoy me time to time and I would ask myself either:why couldn't the guy by younger or why couldn't she be older. And I don't want hate but I didn't see any chemistry well not till my satisfaction probably cuz of the age difference. It's a not so satisfying satisfied ending. I think it like this because the plot was just too predictable like we all new what was gonna happen. Basically I just expected and wanted so much from a drama that I watch however that really did not happen for this one. I got to say some parts were scary. I hat the way they move there head and that quick to.

The story kinda repetitive in 2-9 then 13-15. I watched this cause I'm Kim So Hyun fan. I started watching drama because of Kim So Hyun anyway. back to the topic. It feels like there are so many things that should be explained which they didn't explain it at all. Such as: Did Hyun Ji get the ghost memories back? If she didn't get it back, then how did Hyun Ji love Bong Pal after she became human? How easy Hyun Ji fall in love to Bong Pal? One of other thing that is so important, did Hyun Ji actually remember her past? Long before the accident. She seemed don't care at all of it. The score for story/plot is 7.8/10 For the act. Kim So Hyun never disappoints me. Love her even more in this drama because her smile is sooo something. She is so cute. She did great. More than great. Kinda biased/subjective but I don't care. Taecyeon did great. All of the cast is good. the score for act is 9.5/10 I love the OST tooo anyway.. :) . The casts help much in this drama.

zeid May 23 2017 4:13 am very cliche, sohyun acting is not as cute as boyong in oh my ghost. i thought they will fight the ghost but they just kick them in a naive and cute way. after years the body is almost rotten why make her go back to her body again? the plot twist is very disappointing. there are no good acting here because all they do is laugh and act like a little child.i wsa expecting this to be better than the manhwa.

Not as good as expected Apr 27 2017 3:16 am I actually love the chemistry between taecyeon and kim sohyun. However, the plot is weak. Comparing this to master sun, the backstory of the ghosts and the conflict is so much more boring(for example kim jihan's plot in master's sun ep.1 compared to his plot here). And for cute act, i think park bo young did better in oh my ghost.

The reason I watch this was because after reading the synopsis, i was curious how the human and the ghost will end up. I actually expect hyunji to finally leave the world peacefully as a ghost, and they will have their dramatic farewell scene. But that freakin plot twist (SPOILER: hyunji is actually still alive) made this drama feel so cliche.It's not like i hate happy ending, but if they have came up with better script, i'm sure it would have more impact which make me feel it would be hard to move on from this drama.

Overall, this drama is OK, but certainly isn't worthy of the 91% rating. I rate this 8.3/10

abbi Jan 07 2017 4:05 am I'm tired of all these people talking about how stupid and ridiculous these characters were and how they were completely irrelevant to the story. The creators worked very hard on this plot line and some of the characters might be a little dumb at times but the truth is if they wouldn't have the personality that they had this show probably wouldn't have existed. Whether it shows or not every single detail that they put into this helped developed the story and the characters themselves. At the beginning Bong Pal didn't want to be bothered and didn't care about making friends but it all changed because the people around him.

Inna,Mirai Dec 19 2016 10:56 am oh kyung ja is such an extra here. plus, im seo yeon and bong pal suit together. why does seo yeon is chasing the teacher? in rang and chun sang are nothing to do with the fighting ghosts at all. they are poor students who cant even afford a home and schooling and yet they access the computer all day long just to find ghosts but not able to see them. the word Sadako was just used to make the story Horror. its so Crazy how the ghost hyun ji being tired and ask bong pal to give her a Piggyback ride because she Cant teleport or that Weird sound whenever she disappears. i almost forgot and again Kyung Ja is really an extra, no one brought her back and give justice to her death, not even her bestfriend Hyun ji tried to find her.

After ep 3 I couldnt watch no more is annoying how she acts I thought they will be fighting ghost n maybe the girl was a strong serious woman but she is just clingy n trying to be cute n naive all the time. I guess is time to watch some other drama I hope I find a strong female lead that is no trying to be a cute sensetive naive girl who always needs help.

Shiraiishi Nov 29 2016 1:40 pm why i love this couple so much is because in this drama, Kim So Hyun acted as a girl who experience first love and in real life, so hyun actually never dated anyone and very awkward with boys. and i can see her that she experienced all the cute scenes together with Taecyeon for the first time in her life.. for example, they going to date together, eat together, holding hands etc. Sohyun herself admitted that all of this was her first time and she seems very happy with it.

i think So hyun likes Taecyeon ahaks just my opinion :D she always mentioned him. she even said that Taecyeon is her fav among all the boys actors she acted with. hoping some good news from them :D

I don't think that it was mentioned in the final episode, so I assumed she did. But it wouldn't matter that much because they basically did the same thing with each other after she came back to life, but it's sad to think that all of the memories they made together before are all gone, and that for the first 14 episodes, the hyun ji we knew did not exist anymore

Nick Nov 18 2016 6:23 am Why do people keep comparing this to "oh my ghostess"? "A copy of oh my ghostes", this kdrama is based from the webtoon which is clearly stated was serialized from 2007-2015. I do not understand how a story that was written first could be a copy of something that was written years later? I personally like the cast in this drama better as opposed to oh my ghostess, sure there could have done better acting at times, but i felt a stronger connection with Park Bong-Pal and Kim Hyun-Ji than Na Bong-Sun and (I think his name was, it's been over a year alright) Kang Sun-Woo. I read the webtoon first so that could be a reason as to why I enjoyed way more than most people, either way you won't know unless you give it a try!

And what can potentially turn you off, esp if you're a critical viewer: -plot holes. this will only turn you off if you care too much for every tidbits of details. Generally, I don't think you'd care, because the show offers you enough anything else to enjoy, like the comedy, romance, and the jumpscares.

-the draggy ending. By no means, we only got to the happy ending on last minutes of the episodes. In contrary, from the first to last episode we're served with happy moments for each characters. But literally, since there is no actual conflict, the episode feels more like filler, and if you don't like filler, the last episode won't be enjoyable as much. But if you love the slice of life side of this show, then the last episode will be a perfect closure for you.

-Some things may disappoint you (Don' read if you haven't watch, SPOILER: Hyun Ji doesn't remember her memories as a ghost, though she did remember slightly. I did believe at some point show do give us a hint that she will gradually retain her memories both as a human and as a ghost, because in some scenes she could gain some memories when it is triggered by something that remind her of what she used to do, esp with Bong Pal). Technically in the show, we didn't get to see Hyun Ji fully retain all her memories as a human (before the accident) and a ghost, but I'm sure the PD meant to, but he just didn't show it on the show.

Another thing that could potentially disappoint you is the lack of development for the second female lead. Her character is practically used for the professor crush trope. But to me, she's pretty cool for a second lead as she doesn't bother the main couple with her incessant crush for Bong Pal whatsoever.

Wrap-up: Some noticeable thing include Taecyeon decent acting here, unlike his past role, here he brings enough characterization to our Bong Pal. Kim So Hyun, as usual brings stellar performance, and she's esp very aegyo here! Kwon Yool as the antagonist is very believable, he can turn from a psycopathic person into a very humane person, feeling deeply remorsed for all the things he'd done in the end.

I rate this 8.5/10, it's actually a pretty solid show considering some of the predictable stuffs. I definitely recommend this, don't listen to the pessimistic viewers. :)

one of the things that had me annoyed was that the ghost stayed in the coma for years and when she woke up was still in the same body type and was healthy. the only thing wrong with her was that she couldn't walk properly. that was just illogical. she should be skinny and frail and weak, she spent too many years doing NOTHING (except probably being fed through a tube or something)

For the age gap, I don't mind it at all since Kim So Hyun and Taecyeon's chemistry were so adorable. It was awkward (but still cute) at the first episode, but as their character got closer to each other, they're chemistry made a bomb. They look so cute together. I loved this drama.

And I kinda wish hyun ji gets her memory for when she was a ghost back instead of having her going to a blind date like i find that part so stupid. Episode 15 was good, but, I think, it should have a better resolution. There are some unreasonable scene, plot holes, so the story seemed to be forced. And speaking of episode 15, I kinda disagree with the additional scene (bts and the preview of episode 16). Looking at the preview I already knew the ending (the monk didn't die, they beat up the ghost, and they all live happily ever after). Some people might not really curious about the last episode, rite? Should we say, it ends in episode 15? Oh and also "behind the scene". What's that? Crap, you should save it after the last episode. It was like they showed you the climax, the fight that makes your heart jumped out, and wondering what will happen to them, then for a second they reminded "Oh it was just acting, it's not real! We're filming a drama!" Oh, just crap.

Episode 16? Such a waste. Some scene are really unnecessary and I don't get the answer for my question. "Did Hyun Ji finally remember the times when she was a ghost"? I don't remember it was explained in some scenes, or maybe I just missed it? Perhaps she didn't, cause she didn't remember the girl that looks alike her ghost friend (Kyung Ja). But seeing her being the part of "ghost-busters club" again seemed like she's used to it. But how come? She spent the last two years studying hard, so when did she learn to fight ghost? Unless she had remembered her past being a ghost. Okay, so which one is true?

Yoon Do Joon cameo? I barely say anything. Just like Seo Hyun Jin cameo. Still.... this is one of my favorite drama. The story is simple, fresh and funny (not the typical serious melodrama). Kinda reminded me with "Oh My Ghost", also in TvN. I am looking forward to TvN dramas again, they have different genres from the dramas you usually watch. Worth-watching.

I remembered how this drama began with lots of negative critics 'cause of "the age-gap" between the main leads. But the script they were given made them far more annoying that humorous. Maybe it plays better with a younger Korean audience. Still, the attempts at comedy really make the story drag and be disjointed at times. The story itself, meh. But decent special effects (for kdrama) make for some good ghost fighting scenes. Overall, it is a fun watch but I keep thinking how truly great it could have been with this cast and crew but with a better script. I give it a rating of B out of 10

Most people can't see her. She can teleport and may be able to manipulate objects. It's fantasy anyway, so writers can give her whatever abilities they want. I just found out Kim So Hyun is only 17. I thought she was older and just looked like a high schooler.

Well I know they can’t make up for her like a creepy ghost and expect us to watch the drama, but obviously she is different and everyone could see it. So the question is, is Hyun Ji really a ghost? 2. Bong Pal has a complicated background that related to not only his parents but also the monk, Ju Hye Sung professional, the ghost that his father is chasing, and the young good looking guy who is finding his father (I believe that is Ju Hye Sung as well?). 3. Assumed Ju Hye Sung can see Hyun Ji, then he is doing a brilliant job as if he is totally not seeing her. And it makes me chill thinking he saw her all the time >< 4. The scene when Bong Pal carried Hyun Ji like a princess, it made my heart flutter and Im sure Hyun Ji (So Hyun too) felt the same. Its so beautiful. Hyun Ji may fall for Bong Pal and we will see a jealous ghost too kkk 5. Hyun Ji is so adorable when she attacks Bong Pal with aegyos and her big eyes rolls at him, but I feel like crying too when she was drunk and vented all her frustrations out about being a ghost. Very good job Kim So Hyun, she is the queen for those emotional scenes! I really enjoy this drama more and more, because at first ep I found it a little bit too cheese and messy and the story got no depth, but gradually it grew on me and now Im hooked too. Kim So Hyun again never disappoint, love her so much! Taecyon is doing a good job too, so does everyone. Hope they keep the great work going strong!

Kim So Hyun's a beautiful teenager and her acting never fails to impress me. I really like her character in here, very sassy but cute in other times. I actually dont like seeing other actresses acting very cute because it's kinda too much, but Kim So Hyun is different. She pulled it off and bringed her character in real life. I hope this drama will be very successful.

Sure, it'd be cute if they could reunite instead of her transitioning into the afterlife, but I've already seen this done before in dramas (most notably in "Midnight's Girl"). If she transitions of course it'd be tragically sad, but more realistic and a different turn. So far the drama is good, but I want more to be added to the plot like flashbacks.

Previously had only seen KSH as the child counterpart so didn’t really get to see her display all her talents and she is the real deal (can do serious emotions and comedy adroitly).

KSH is great in showing sass and spunk, but she really wowed me when she was doing aegyo to Bong-pal.

1st of all, it was the right amount of aegyo (actually cute and not cloying like so many other actresses tend to do) – but more importantly, totally got the sense that it was KSH’s character acting all aegyo in order to get something from BP (so there was a double layer of acting there).

Leonardo DiCaprio also doesn't really change his hairstyle much for god sake. And guess what, his hairstyle doesn't really block the oscar to fly right into his arms.

If you mean character-wise: Soo Yeon (IMY) – rape victim, Eun Bi (School 2015) – bullying victim, Eun Bi (Reset) – highschool delinquent/drop out/murder suspect, Eun Byul (School 2015) – top student with silently tortured personality, Soo-Ok (Pure Love) – teenager with bum leg, Yoo Seul – blind, top piano student, Hyun Ji (LFG) – dead high school ghost and a badass ghost fighter. And if you also add her upcoming movie Princess Deok Hye – she’s gonna play a nice, upstanding princess which would be different from her 2 drama sageuk roles where she played villain. If I list it like that…yes they’re mostly students with mostly sad stories, but I wouldn’t say they’re the exact same character.

Bong Pal (Taec) is 17 years old teenage boy and Hyun Ji is 19 years old ghost girl. If you see Taec as someone who is 17 year old and 2 years younger than KSH then cuss on those who dont like cast. I dont have problem with romancing part even though there are racy parts in webtoon i`m not so sure how are they going to make those, but seeing man who is 28 yo (korean age 29) as 17 is no needed when there are young talented boys who can do that. He should`ve accepted role in Lucky Romance and play 23 yo man, that is more believable.

But suddenly everyone just burst in outrage when a 27 year old is cast in a Korean drama as a student??? He's not falling for her in real life, so just cool down. And they both will be acting the same age in the drama so a romance plot should not be a problem. I'm not a fan of either of the male leads but this age problem - most seem to have - should stop.

And besides, I have seen people with 10-12 years of age gap getting married. One of my own cousins got married to a man 10 years older to her. So idk why there can't be a romance plot here.

She know that even she attended school, she wouldn't be able to attend school properly because of filming, and wouldn't be able to study properly. Meaning she managed her own time.
