I think yesterday sort of makes up for falling off the wagon. I participated in 24 Hour Comics day - doing a page an hour, with a result of 24 pages in a single day. And I somehow suceeded. 

This is about 17 hours in. 

It was a pretty amazing experience. I wound up being awake for for 36 straight hours, and I suffered many maladies as a result of this madness. I have three calluses on my hand now where there once was only one, my hand hurt a great deal, etc. At one point I even felt like throwing up, and when it was all over I think I might have actually hallucinated from being so tired. 

It was worth it. :)

Photos are a good way to catch up. 

I'm still trying and failing to catch up. :D;

 

Well, when I started ArtSoMoFo, I really didn't expect to be making things like.... This. But, I've learned it's often best to go along with what your muse wants, even if you don't understand it. 

 

Well, I've fallen off the wagon a little bit - it's been a bit of a busy weekend. 

I did manage to draw something for day 4, but I dislike it too much to post - or rather, I can't get a decent scan or photo of it at all. I put a few whole hours of work into it, but it's too large for the scanner bed and any photo I take gives horrible contrast. Since then I've been in a standard slump of doubting my abilities. 

So anyhow, I didn't manage anything for day 5 or day 6, but I'm fairly determined to play catch-up. I'm going to work now, expect something more from me soon.  

 Well, I haven't managed to draw anything yet today, due in part to the large chunk of time I spent trying and finally succeeding to frame my father's birthday gift. The first frame I got, the glass managed to break. It was a a major hassle. I'll have to either draw something quick or finish after midnight. 

In the meantime, I thought this link might be helpful - I'm sure some of you have already seen it, but there's this art challenge going around where you draw something based off of a hundred prompts. The link to the DA group for it is here. http://100themeschallenge.devianta… Thought it might help some people with ideas and inspiration. :)

I started this yesterday but finished today - does it still count? I hope so. :p



 

 This isn't what I actually intended to do for ArtSoMoFo today. I started a print but I never did finish it, and this was actually done before I went to bed last night. I'm pretty sure it was after midnight though, so it's still good. 

 Well, it looks like I'm one of the last through the gate - and I'm not off to a particularly strong start, but nontheless, I made it through Day One. 


Done with very cheap acrylic paints on paper.

 I bought a Moleskine sketchbook and some nice pens the other night, so I'm all set. Is everyone else ready? It's only the day after tomorrow now. : )

Also, I realized something - my dad's birthday is in the 6th, and this is just another reason to art a gift for him. I'm thinking a rubber or linoleum print of a lighthouse for his office. *nodnod*
