[TtG] Atleast it isn't a Crime
Yeah, yeah, I haven't been writing in my journal. It's because I've had my time being consumed by other things. I'm sorry, but I'm a very busy person these days.
School ended in June, so I picked up a summer internship at The Flinthouse, a gallery in downtown. It's relatively new, and that was part of my interest in checking it out. While I didn't really like the stuff they had me do, like taking calls and filing papers and things, nothing quite artistic, I was invited by Lucretia, the owner and curator, to submit a few of my own pieces. It's a start to something, because I really need something in the field, something in addition to the three student invitationals I've done and the school art...which does all count for something, but it's all academic related; though, the art I did for the school was a paid job, so that changes things slightly.
equivocal_views had an internship too, only that involved Space Camp. I can't believe that he and I aren't going to be going to the same school any more. He's now a senior at Mountain Springs, with
echojin. I wish I could stay another year, I really do. I don't care if I am going to be twenty in a month, I don't care.
I already started school at UCCS and it's...different, a bit bigger, but the classes are pretty cool. The teachers haven't told me much yet, though, because I've only had two classes for each of my classes so far. I go to school four days a week, Monday through Thursday. And besides that, my schedule is -really- open; I'm only in school 9-2:30 on Monday and Wednesday, and 9:00-4:00, Tuesday and Thursday. That's 9-11:30, 1:00-2:30, and and 9:00-11:30, 1:00-2:30, and 2:30-4:00. Five classes total. Wanted to take more, but I needed pre-recs which I don't have yet. Sigh. My classes are: Languages of Art, Intro. to Human Orgins (probably could learn more about this from Daniel, but...*shrugs*), Rhetoric and Writing (Yay, a writing class. See my happy face? No, you don't.), Beginning Studio-2D, and Calculus I. So that's my schedule for my first semester. It's all pretty boring so far. No assignments, no tests, not anything until at least the third week. First two days was just going over the syllabus and making sure everyone could read that and had the right books and materials and stuff. Most of the students who I share classes with, I had classes with back at MSHS, but the restrictions on us are less. Plus I can leave campus any time I want and no one can say anything about it.
I think I may just bug
equivocal_views and
echojin during their lunch periods.
