My one boring tip to anyone in their 20s is to resist the temptation to rot in your room every time you get a free moment. Dismiss any neuroses you have about going outside and "being perceived". Be a dictator about it, plan your hangouts like they are binding commitments. No excuses! Go to the bar with your friends. Be kinda hungover at work. Socializing is like exercise; even if you don't feel like you want to, you should still do it because it's good for you.

˗ˏˋ study buddies 'ˎ˗

tags: cuddling & snuggling, studying, gender neutral reader, literal sleeping together, pre-canon, crushes, there was only one bed

word count: 2,679

summary: You and Jaime had been up late studying for a midterm in his dorm room and end up sharing his bed.

author's note: writing this to cope with my fuckass midterms

"Alright, and don't forget about the midterm next week,” The professor announced as the class packed up. “Be sure to look over the quizzes, 'cause a lot of that will be on it, as well as the information from your online assignments.”

You sighed, feeling out of your depth. You would have to study endlessly before you could consider obtaining even a low C.

“You feel ready for the midterm?”

You turned to see your classmate, Jaime, regarding you as he zipped up his bag. He was a cute guy with a sweet smile and dark curls. You two had become buddies by circumstance, often complaining about the professor after class and hanging out for a bit to wind down before going about your days. He would ask the professor a few questions here and there and seemed to always be diligently taking notes. However, his face suggested that he wasn't confident in his abilities to pass the midterm.

If he seemed unsure, you were probably doomed.

Tired!Matt asks you to read to him

WC: 468

Matt leans into the warmth beneath him, his head resting on your chest comfortably. He exhales, the stress and tension of the day leaking from his body; being a lawyer by day and a vigilante by night is hard work, he's found. Your steady heart-beat thumps in the ear he has pressed against your pajama shirt, relaxing him further. The material of your shirt is smooth against his face, allowing him to press his face into it without any issue.

I just want to remind you that sometimes your life really doesn't begin until you are 26+... Romanticizing and obsessing over our youth is harmful. Growing up is beautiful. Discovering who you are and how you interact with the world is a gift. Maturing and learning what you truly want out of life and living in that purpose brings fulfillment and peace. Your life is not over in your early 20's because you haven't figured it out yet, it's just beginning.

Matt and tfaws Bucky would be disasters together and I love them regardless. Neither of them would have a full braincell between them and that’s ok I love them anyways- ∩^ω^∩

Ok but this idea has had me laughing for DAYS, because these two—I love them, but there truly would be precisely zero sense, which means Sam and Reader would essentially be left to manage the two of them and their insanity, which would be hysterical. So have this thing I managed to put together in between everything else of these two being, well, themselves.

The four of you were pinned down under heavy gunfire. You’d only just managed to barricade yourselves behind some overturned steel tables before the firefight had started, and now you all were crouched low, bullets whining past overhead and steadily chipping away at the plaster walls behind you. Trapped on the eighth floor, at least two of you—Sam with his wings, and Bucky with his, well, super-soldier-ness—could have taken the leap out a window, but that wasn’t quite an option when this many people were shooting at you.

“How are there this many?” Sam shouted. He tried to edge up over the table to look but a renewed burst of gunfire had him ducking back down. “This is way more than—what happened to counting?!”

“Dude, I can’t believe we’re fighting Captain America!”

“I mean, I counted the guys on the first eight floors,” Matt said, managing to look sheepish even with his face half-covered by his mask.

You and Sam turned to stare at him, and you blinked in disbelief. “D, there are ten floors.”

He licked his lips. “I figured most of them would be on the botto—”

Ten floors, D!” you bellowed.

“In his defense,” Bucky said easily, looking entirely unbothered as he reloaded his clip, “wasn’t like we weren’t going in even with all of them. I don’t see the issue.”

Yasss who else is a kinda lame aimless adult in they mid to late 20s

I WAS a lame aimless adult through most of my 20s.

And then in my early 30s I gradually hit my stride and now I think I'm doing pretty fantastic at this adulting thing.

Think of your 20s as your Wandering Days and don't stress out if you haven't settled into a Set Life yet. Not all those who wander are lost.

This is isn't like the past decades/centuries of your parents/ancestors when the paths your life can take are limited. Some of your peers found their chosen paths more quickly and that's fine. You're still sorting through your choices and that's fine too. The important thing is to not get discouraged and to keep moving!

Saw the previous Matt Murdock post and I can’t help but think of him as college professor dynamic???!

LIKE HOW WOULD HE BE?

❝criminal law professor!matt murdock❞

cw: law school professor matt being everyone's wet dream, brief mention of alcohol, brief suggestive content. words: 1.3k.
  • AHHHHHHH criminal law professor!matt who never set out to teach but got invited to a lecture held by an old lawyer friend of his and built up such good rapport with the students that when one of them came up to him after class and told him they'd sign up for any class he'd teach, the cogs started turning
  • only teaches one class a semester, probably one class a year
  • one of those professors that almost everybody wants to get in with but is prone to several dropouts after the first two weeks because of his teaching style
  • he's very casual most of the time but very much hands-on and will not let up on you for a second if he thinks it's a teaching moment
  • he's relentless. he is not an easy A but you will come out of his class better than you went in
  • his favorite part of the job is getting into ethical debates with the students
  • likes to do a lot of mock trials and very regularly stick his students with cases that test their moral judgment
  • it's not to make them feel bad or play at having the higher moral ground if they make a "wrong" decision, but more so to force them to consider what they're willing to compromise on to win a case
