I've finally gotten around to finding communities with similar interests as my own on livejournal and came across this site. My husband is in the Army and is currently stationed overseas. I was with him for 8 months, but was scheduled to return to my own job for Nov 2004, so am currently back in Georgia. Nice to meet you all!

Hi All!

I am the Moderator of a brand new community on Live Journal called patriotpenpals. We provide support and encouragement to military personnel that are stationed overseas. If you have a deployed friend, loved one or family member that needs a 'morale boost', please contact me.

Our group is also a terrific place to go for ideas and information. I originally created it for our volunteers but it is has come to be used as a resource for spouses and others that have loved ones away from home. For great hints and help be sure to read any of the post entitled 'Basic Training'.

I just got these in today and they are $11.50 shipped. These are pretty heavy due to the size of the chain they are on, that is why they are a bit more.
