Yes, I am currently 2 days behind on
halfamoon stuff. It'll be 3 days behind in four more hours...
I have been horridly sick since Thursday night/Friday morning. Both ears hurt [all down the eustachian tubes, too]; sore throat, which makes swallowing difficult; cough, which doesn't help with the sore throat despite being productive enough to bring crap up pretty much every time; headaches; stuffy/runny nose, which even gave me a bloody nose today from all the damned blowing; body aches all over; and I was hella feverish Thursday night and into Friday morning. I don't get much sleep at night because I can't get comfortable and I can't stay propped up to allow for proper drainage of this crap.
I am currently living on guaifenesin, advil, allergy meds, and peppermint schnapps to help me heal. I snooze when I can, stare blankly at FB or play stupid games that don't require a fully functioning brain, and stare at the boob tube while trying to crochet. I HATE being sick. A FB friend said she had something similiar and it took 3 weeks before she was feeling better. This better not fucking last that long, or I'll go homicidal.
I'm fully expecting to lose my voice before the next week's out.
The nephew's sick, his mother's sick, and I'm sick. Apparently this particularly lurgy went from her father to her, then to the nephew, then some sort of mutation between them again, and then hit me. I think. I'm fuzzing on the details of what she's told me Friday.
I AM hoping to get caught up on
halfamoon 2012, but as of right now, I wouldn't plan on it. It really depends on how quickly this'll get itself out of my system.
For now, I'm off to stare at the boob tube for a bit -- maybe another episode of Faerie Tale Theater with the nephew before we head bedward. He still has school tomorrow, and I need to get up to take him.
At least being sick has made it easier not to miss certain foods while we do our 4-day, 5 night vegan experiment. Come sundown on Tuesday, I'll be finding some chicken soup to eat, that's for damned sure!

Date: 2012-02-07 02:24 (UTC)There's a variation on the hot-tea-and-honey thing that will clear your throat up temporarily--hot tea, honey, juice of whole lemon, a shot of bourbon (or other non-flavored booze of choice) and a good shake of liquid hot sauce. Give a stir and drink it down as hot as you can without burning your mouth or throat. Tastes better than it sounds, and will make it possible to talk for a while, at least. Nothing is better than silence for laryngitis, though.
