Current Health/Status: He’s just gone through an “experience,” to say the least. His face is currently a little torn up and bruised and he’s exhausted, but other than that he’s still kicking.

Personality:
Prompto is, as first look, an extremely cheerful and excitable person, and that might actually be underselling it a bit. He’s extremely talkative; he seems to have a comment for absolutely anything at any time, including when wandering through dark and spooky caverns or dungeons while surrounded by daemonic creatures ready to attack at any moment. Of course, many of those comments are going to be complaints about that very situation, but. Still talkative. Sometimes this excitement can get him into trouble by allowing him to get distracted; he has, for example, crashed a car and gotten kidnapped by a giant snake monster because of this. Often it seems as though his cheerfulness is an attempt to lighten the mood of others around him, something which has varying successes but regardless comes from a good place. Prompto is also always willing to talk about “nerdier” things, as well; he shows a love of video games especially, often commenting on how the adventures he finds himself on are “just like an RPG!” and getting excited about attending a festival to honor a favorite game of his. Sometimes his nerdiness is even too much for other nerdy people around him, but it simply comes from a place of passion about the things he loves. This passion can also be seen in his love of photography- Prompto is always taking photos and thinking about taking photos, and asking to stop and take photos at particular places… Basically, the kid loves photography. He loves technology in general and therefore enjoys the technical aspects of photography such as using different lenses and settings and getting the best lighting, etc., but he also has sentimental reasons, too: he wants to document his time with his friends the best way he knows how.

For the most part Prompto’s cheerfulness extends to a general friendliness, as well. He’s playful with those he knows well enough, poking fun at and bantering with friends much like anyone would but he’s also friendly with those he does not know as well, such as his friend Gladio’s little sister. Prompto has grown up a commoner and therefore seems to struggle with the more formal situations, however, including the supposedly simple act of bowing to his own king.
Despite this friendliness, however, he admits that he doesn’t connect with people on the same level as others (despite wishing he did), so it’s possible that any over-the-top friendliness is simply an overeager attempt to do just that. On that note, he also tries his best to be as helpful as he can, whenever he can, in whatever way he can. He's also easily smitten, developing crushes on TWO women that he meets throughout the course of the game, although he completely strikes out with both of them (even though he doesn't really take any action towards trying to be with them. it's more a Fun Thing To Think And Talk About.)

A key component of Prompto’s personality is his inferiority complex and desire to prove himself. Almost his whole life Prompto has felt like he was not enough for anyone, let alone himself, especially as a child. Adopted by a family in Lucis that had little time or love for him, Prompto grew up feeling very different from his classmates and anxious about his weight and appearance. Even when he received a nudge towards making a friend and he started making changes in his life and reaching out to people he still kept the persistent feelings of not being good enough. He admits out loud that he’s not particularly good at anything and does not really contribute anything to his friends, and how much he wishes he could change that. Prompto’s greatest fear is that those he loves and cares for will abandon him, and he tries his absolute hardest to prevent that in any way possible. To this end sometimes it seems like Promptp might be “overdoing” things a bit; a lot of his actions and words seem like he’s over-acting in an attempt to put on his cheerful front and keep people liking him. He’s also recently made an extremely upsetting discovering about himself: he was born as a clone in a laboratory and intended to be infected with the Starscourge and turned into a Magitek Soldier, which is a (previously assumed to be) robotic infantryman that he has been fighting for the whole game up to that point. Upon learning this Prompto nearly shuts down and has to be forced into moving on, and even when he’s out of immediate danger he’s clearly struggling with processing this truth. Here he shows a very different side than the cheerful front he tries so hard to put up: he’s angry, upset, depressed, and contemplative and thoughtful about what this means for him. Although he soon realizes that it’s not where he’s from that matters, but where he’s going, and is greatly touched by the continued support of his friends despite revealing this truth to him, it’s still a new revelation that he’s trying to completely come to grips with.

On a lighter note, he also admits to being claustrophobic and afraid of heights, as well as being a generally jumpy and panicky sort of person in general.

Despite his attempts to fit in and try and be what people want of him, it’s also clear that Prompto is actually a very caring person as well, and a despite any “selfish” desires to be liked he also genuinely cares and wants to help people. When he was young and alone, for example, he still took in and cared for an injured puppy he found, and when he started wanting to make friends for himself he was also able to motivate himself by thinking that the person he wanted to be friends with was also lonely and wanted friends. His loyalty to those he cares about is extremely real, and he’s willing to do absolutely anything for them.

In terms of his friends and those he cares about, however, Prompto has recently had a realization. Someone pointed out to him that he spends so much time worried about what other people want of him that he doesn’t know what he wants for himself anymore, which he does not even attempt to argue against. He admits to himself that all he’s ever wanted was for people to like him, and he wonders if the people he wants to see even want him around at all. Eventually, he comes to realize that this doesn’t matter, because despite that what he wants is still to help them regardless, and he has started developing a newfound confidence based upon his experiences.

Abilities/Powers/Weaknesses & Warping:
For the most part Prompto does not have many powers of his own. He cannot use magic by himself, for example, and in game has to borrow that power from Noctis. He is decently skilled with firearms, however, especially considering he's so new at it, and is passable with machine weapons (although he wields them like he's just pointing them at whatever needs to get hit and hoping for the best.)

His gun (and any weapon, in game) is stored in a sort of extra-dimensional-pocket thanks to Noctis, and he and his can summon and put them back at will.

He does have access to a few special abilities in game, however:

- STARSHELL: sheds "light" on the situation! This attack illuminates the area slightly and in game, weakens daemons, but would realistically weaken anything weak to light.

- GRAVISPHERE: Creates an orb of gravity that sucks enemies in and damages them.

- TRIGGER-HAPPPY: Shoots very quickly with two guns, which would not be available until he was able to claim a second one in game.

None of these abilities would be strong enough to need to be warped, as they're not particularly powerful.

Are you comfortable with prominent elements of fourth-walling?: Yep!
What themes of horror/psychological thrillers do you enjoy the most?: I'm not sure how to explain this, but the build-up? The suspense and the fear, as well as dealing with situations and what one had to do in them afterwards. Definitely more into the psychological aspect! And I love things that prey specifically on characters' fears and weaknesses, or target/lower their strengths specifically. I also love supernatural aspects of things- ghosts? werewolves? Random monsters and old legends and lore? LOVE THAT. Mysteries that can be solved are also amazing. Sorry, I'm rambling a bit here.
