next order of bidness. how many coats for tshirt paint is too many?
ok so my sock yarn came for the hogwarts sock swap
paragliders (i think they are called cause they jumped off the top of the mountain and not out of a plane) drifting down at the end of the box canyon. a box canyon is when you drive into a valley, mountains on both sides and it tapers together at the end so you cant drive through it. it just ends in another giant mountain. thats where i live and it costs 450,000.00 to get a fireplace permit becasuse of this. the smoke just stays and doesnt blow out with the wind so they really limit it. you can get ticketed for having your car idling for more that 30 seconds here too. we have a fireplace but because we are TECHNICALLY not in telluride we can use it no permit required thank goodness. it is getting cold here already. it hailed yesterday sheesh. around sunset the mountains at the end of town turn all reddish. i think it might be the prettiest thing about summer here.

i dont know but i might have been getting close yesterday when i made this shirt because it would not cover up the color of the tshirt. maybe thats because i used a pearl paint instead of just slick paint. im not sure but 5 coats of pearl and one coat of glitter paint later voila! a shirt. i have decided that sprinkling on the loose glitter doesnt last very long and i prefer the one coat of the glitter paint to top it off. i uploaded my word doc here if you want to download your own.

and i love it. you know i got to collaborate with the dyer on what colors i wanted. her etsy store is over here and her name is carrie and if you wanted your own custom dyed yarn she said to just contact her. ok so one color is salazar slytherin and thats the green and grey. and the other is draco malfoy and its green for slytherin grey and black for what he is normally seen wearing in the movies and yellow for his blonde hair. we werent required to send any yarn for the swap just the finished pair of socks and a few small things depending on what year they are, but i just thought that my partner is a sock knitting fool she said and while she does dye her own yarn i just thought it might be fun to send some her way anyhow :0) so you can see what the yarn looked like in hanks when i got it here i mean it was wrapped up prettier than that but it was kinda striped. so i took it to the yarn store here and much to their dismay used thair ball winder and made a centerpull ball for me and one to send. im going to knit up the salazar slytherin and send the draco malfoy. so heres what they look like now! purty.
and i reused the wrapper that carrie sent with the draco to rewrap the ball but it wasnt big enough so i punched some holes and laced it up like a corset. i think it looks pretty dang cute. good thing she used high quality paper :0)
