Hi everyone!

It's been a few months since my last blog post (remember when I had a resolution to write at least one blog post every month lmao nah) and the people on ig have said they would appreciate a review of the Razer Kraken Pro V2 Quartz! So here I am to finally deliver.

To preface, I bought this headset in about April-May and have been using it every single day ever since. It's the second headset I have ever owned, my first one being the Plantronics GameCom 780 Gaming Headset (if you can see the trend, I use headsets that professional league of legends players use lmao). I picked the Quartz mostly because it was pink (I love being a fake e-girl...) and it came with cute cat ears with it (you have to pay extra though) lol. That, and that Faker uses the same headset in black (and I think in the last games they've used the green one) so yeah!

Pros
  • If you wear glasses like me, it's a perfect comfortable fit!
I'm shortsighted so I wear glasses all the time. It's been difficult to find a headset that doesn't obstruct the placement of my glasses, or has it too tight fitting that I can feel my glasses crush the sides of my face. My last headset didn't fit with my glasses and I was constantly adjusting them while I was using them which was kind of annoying. The cushioning over the ears is completely comfortable as well and isn't intrusive, it covers my ear completely as well (I have small ears though). There's no pressure at all. It's also adjustable if you pull down on the headset.
  • Really good sound quality
I listen to a lot of music and play a lot of games. The sound coming out is very clear and all sounds can be heard very nicely. Bass sounds good, don't have any complaints about the sound quality! Also the headset isn't exactly noise cancelling, but if I'm not paying attention to my surroundings I can't really hear what's happening in the outside world (a lot of angry calls from my mother because I can't hear her when she's calling me from across the house lol).
  • Really good mic quality
I discord with my boyfriend every day and he rates the mic a 9/10 when the mic is right near my mouth, but becomes less clear (7/10) if I retract the mic closer into the headset (it's flexible and can go back inside the headset if you're not using the mic which is really convenient and cool). If I am eating food for example, I would move the mic away from my mouth so the foodstuffs won't get on it, you will sound a bit more far away but a 7/10 sound is good enough for me if people can hear what I'm saying. The mic sometimes picks up on noises far away (I tried scrunching paper, knocking on hard surfaces, clapping away from the mic) and it picked up the sound maybe about 20% of the time.
  • It is a 3.5mm audio jack and not USB-A with a braided cable
This is a pro for me personally because I use a Dell XPS 13 which does not have a USB-A port. My previous headset was USB and I would have needed to used a usb C to A adapter to be able to use it for my laptop which is uhhh no lmao. I've also used the headset for my smartphone when I'm at home and it works fine no problems. So having it basically be an audio jack headset makes it super versatile (I guess, cause it's nice using it on my smartphone lol). I also prefer braided cables over the regular rubber cables, asides from adding an extra layer of protection it doesn't get tangled as easily as rubber ones (another problem I had with my older headset).

Cons
  • The mic volume adjust and mute button are on the braided cable, and not on the headset
It's a minor (but noticeable) thing for me as sometimes I move around in bed or something and the volume somehow shifts all the way down because I've unconsciously moved the volume on the cable. Having it on the headset would've been better, sometimes I forget that it's there and have muted my mic and wonder why I can't hear anything at all lol.
  • Wearing it for extended periods of time increases the moisture in my ears, like a lot
It gets a bit sweaty inside your ears (lots of moisture builds up there for me) when I wear it for a long time which is annoying. There's not a lot of breathing room in there.
  • I don't think the cat ears fit very well LOL
I'm guessing they're mostly for aesthetic purposes because the cat ears, when placed on my head, would just fall off because it was so tight on the headset, like it barely fit. I've just taken them off and have never put them back on ever since the first time they fell off. It's also more comfortable without them because I feel more secure having the entire band rest on my head as opposed to that ugly rubber rubbing against my hair.
  • Loosened over time
I know this applies to all headsets as they gradually wear out from use, but my headset at first was a comfortably tight fit and it didn't fall off my head. It's been around 5-6 months since I bought it and even just moving my head back will make it slip off my head completely. It's super annoying, but it's just a minor inconvenience if you're like, stretching or something.

To conclude! I love this headset! It's great! Way better improvement over my last one! Great sound quality, great mic, comfortable to wear. What else is there to look for? Aside from the moisture thing and the volume thing I'd say this is an amazing headset (Faker uses it after all xd). There are obviously way better ones on the market, but I think for something entry level or if you just like the pinkness of it... this is a great headset!

Thanks for reading, I hope my review helps in some way :)

Hi everyone! To keep in accordance with my 18 for 2018, my blog post for March will be about my March favourites. I was going to do a Hakuoki unboxing blog post but I figured I could just do that in this post too.

Ikemen Sengoku is the latest otome mobage that has been consuming all my time (and money... smh premium content) and I have recently completed my first route! It took me a while since I went on holidays and was unable to make full use of the 5 chapter tickets a day while I was away but alas.... I really enjoyed it. I know many people have reservations about otome games since many of the romanceable characters have problematic personalities but for the sake of this review (and my personal tastes), I mostly enjoyed Nobu-chan’s route despite some problematic scenes (hints of dubcon).
