About this blog/faq:

• This is a personal blog for everything. Here be bullshit.

• I accept any pronouns but it/its would make me happy :)
• My basic tenet of ethics is “things are bad if they harm people (and not for any other reason)”. I’m willing to debate other moral frameworks if I feel like it and if your explanations are particularly interesting, but if you’re going to get offended by me saying that things which feel icky but hurt no one are fine, we might have a problem.
• I’m not interested in participating in the moral panic about AI and am increasingly easily annoyed by people who are. This does not mean “I don’t think people should have any criticisms” but it does mean I don’t want to hear about corruption of the ~human soul~ and I don’t think talking to it is some kind of mind control that shuts off your brain and forces you to take its outputs at face value. I also don’t think playing whack-a-mole against emerging technologies is the right way to fight against job loss from automation. I do think exploitation of people hired to go through data in the training phase is a real problem as is unchecked propagation of biases if it’s put in charge of things. This is mostly on companies for how they train and use it and doesn’t make individuals evil for using it. I will hear out environmental arguments if made in a way that isn’t an isolated demand for rigour but if you think generating one image meaningfully harms the planet but have done nothing to reduce your meat consumption or the amount you drive, you’re a hypocrite.
• Ask me to tag things! Currently I try to tag what I consider to be commonly sensitive topics, but sometimes I forget and I will be more careful if you ask.
• Due to past requests I currently tag for bugs/mushrooms/other nature stuff people might find visually unpleasant as “nature images”.
• If I don’t want you to reblog something I’ll make it unrebloggable; otherwise go for it. If I’ve made it unrebloggable it might be because I’m worried about a specific kind of spreading of it so if you still want to reblog it you can ask and I might let you if I trust you not to spread it in that way.
• I reserve the right to delete asks I find passive aggressive (or just plain aggressive) or inappropriate. But if your ask is not either of those things and I haven’t answered it yet, I probably either didn’t get it or forgot, so feel free to remind me. Also if I reblogged an ask game and got inundated with asks I may not get through all of them - sorry.
• Feel free to tag me/dm me/use any other means to get my attention about anything. I might ignore you if I’m overwhelmed or just don’t feel like talking, but I definitely won’t be mad.
• Regarding dms in particular: I promise I appreciate them but if they require anything more than a quick back and forth it will likely take me anywhere up to a week to get back to you even if I’m fully eager & intending to respond. I’m just bad at task management sorry.
