Child Abuse is horrible...
everyone agrees with that, I am sure. what I will NEVER EVER understand is a mother who allows her boyfriend to savagely beat her children, so she can have "her man". Men don't beat children and honestly, if a penis is THAT important to you, get one with batteries. Ok, for those of you who have not heard of this tragic story, there was a little 2 year old girl- Mia, who lived with her older brother Matthew, her mom and her mom's boyfriend.
Daniel, her mom's boyfriend, beat Mia and her brother Matthew for 6 months. THREE times people who cared for Mia and Matthew called Children's Services. Babysitters and care-givers reported seeing bruises and bite marks all over the children, especially Mia. there were even bite marks on her vaginal area.
the night she died, HALF THE BLOOD of her 30# body was found in her abdomen. Daniel, nothing short of a bastard, punched Mia and Matthew over and over and over because they "wouldn't stop crying." The autopsy on Mia revealed that she had broken ribs in VARIOUS stages of healing, some of the wounds were RECENT and had not started healing. Is it any wonder Mia wouldn't stop crying??? (Matthew survived, but had to have surgery for the blunt force trauma to his abdomen.)
One of the guys I work with was being interviewed to sit on this jury. I am pretty glad he wasn't seated, I don't know how you would ever erase the pictures from the autopsy and this little girl out of your head.
Anyway, the jury found Daniel GUILTY On ALL CHARGES 57 years in prison as a MINIMUM! And child murderers are thought of SO HIGHLY in prison. I hope you enjoy hell on earth Daniel, I know Matthew and Mia didn't.
