𓏲 ๋࣭✿ ࣪ ˖ Dad!Satoru gives a “small” birthday party for his son.
── .✦ Today was Haru’s birthday.
And you and your husband, Satoru, were preparing him the living room with a small cake and a few gifts you and Satoru bought for him. Mostly toys, from Satoru’s part. For kids.
The baby barely can sit straight.
Well, he is five months old now, that’s his birthday, five months after he was born.
Satoru made sure to do a small commemoration every month.
I know. Rich people.
“Bring him here. I think he already woke up by now.” You said to Satoru, focusing on adjusting the cake precisely in the center of the coffee table.
“Okay.” He rises from the floor with a party hat already in hands to put on Haru’s head.
While he was rising the stairs, you could only smile proudly at your work.
You pick up your phone from the couch and start taking pictures of the small decor.
When you finished taking the pictures you hear his footsteps coming back with a mini copy of him.
Haru was still sleepy, with a small pout and rubbing an eye with his tiny hands. You wanted so bad to smush his cheeks, looking like dumplings.
And of course he was already with the party hat that his dad put on him. before he even processed that he was awake.
When your son sees you, he opens a gummy smile that made you beam back and stretch out your hands to scoop him to your arms.
“Come here, my little dumpling.” And he went immediately.
Satoru, I mean. He went like he is the little dumpling. An 6'3" little dumpling.
“The baby, Satoru.” you swat his arm forrowing and chuckles by his stupidity.
You loved him.
Finally, you pick your son to your own arms and you light the candles to sing Happy Birthday to You.
It was the best birthday month so far. You rocking Haru to hype him up; Haru clapping his hands with a fixed gaze on the candles; Satoru singing out of tune while recording making the video shaky. Because this man doesn’t stay still.
When you finished singing, you cut a piece for you and your husband and a tiny piece for Haru.
And you, of course let Satoru feed him. And he ended with cake all ove his mouth. He was cute though.
But after you finished your cake, you notice Satoru glancing out the window and checking his phone disguising so you don’t see. It didn’t work.
Of course this can’t be a normal month birthday party. It had to have something up with Satoru as your husband.
You squint at him, suspicious he was hiding something.
“What are you hiding?” You said flat out, catching him by surprise. He turn his head to you surprised pointing his own finger to himself, asking silently if you’re talking to him.
“Yeah, you.” You confirm looking at him deadpan.
“Nothing, I’m not hiding anything.” He feigns innocence and shrugs, whistling, as if it couldn’t be more obvious.
Squinting at him you stood up before he could react and picked his phone that you obviously had the password. And you went to the window glancing at the phone.
He didn’t do that…
Who are you trying to convince? He did it.
There were people in your garden. Organizing what it looked like a whole gigantic birthday party…
Rich people. Your husband is one of those rich people.
“Really?” You slowly turn to him deadpan.
He widens his eyes and look away pretending to play with Haru as a distraction from the whole mess being made outside.
“Why are you making a whole birthday party for him in our garden?” You raise your arms in a gesture of defeat.
“He’s almost one year old.” Satoru drawn his brow slightly together, pouting dramatically as always. Hoping you would fall for his puppy face.
“He just turned five months old. Today.” You gesture exasperated, trying to reason with him. Another mistake.
“Whatever, it’s close enough.” He turned his head from you, stubbornly beginning to stand up to dress Haru for his big birthday party.
You had a whole conversation ahead of you prepared for him, when this was over.
No more birthday month parties.

⋆˚✿˖° I literally had this on drafts for a month. I got a new obsession and didn’t have motivation to write anything until now.
