Only 100 words of romance in a sea of plot. Maybe the characters are busy with their lives, and the romance is a nice source of tension as a B-plot? Maybe the romance is a hindrance or a help for the plot? Maybe the romance is the plot, because the stakes go further than just these characters’ relationship?

Filthy, tender and loving but totally platonic porn. See my smut likes further down, but a lot of them focus on sensuality and pleasure.

Accidental whatever acquisition, including more out-there examples like teenager, grandparent or mascot. Once again, it’s about the human connections!

I’m interested in seeing the usual romantic relationship beats applied to (queer)platonic relationships: meet-cutes or meet-uglies, flirting, pining, dating, defining the relationship, domesticity, … I think that’s a big part of what I like in supernatural or a/b/o pack AUs with groups as the normative relationship structure, I really can’t get enough of those!

Sensual attraction, cuddling and snuggling, touch as a love language or a communication method, all the skinship! This is very iddy to me, you could write thousands of words of it and I would just keep melting into a flatter and flatter pancake.

This extends to crack or crack treated seriously, and non-standard worldbuilding. I will accept your premise at face value and wait to see where you’re going with it!

Time travel fix-it, fix-it in general. I’m in it for the hurt/comfort (see below) but also for the emotional catharsis and the satisfaction of having solved whatever problems there were.

Meta, meta disguised as fiction. Do you want to try to find an explanation for plotholes XYZ, explore the lost years in the timeline, expand on a throwaway line from an unnamed extra?

Take your fandom to work, deep dive into someone's lived experience. Tell me about the menu of your favorite restaurant, that one shift from hell you had two years ago, your thesis topic, or your last wikipedia spiral.

Fandom culture and/or media in-universe. The reactions to canon (or AU) events, the fannish cultures in play, the memes, merch, messages, … I’ll take it all!

Culture, language, sociopolitics. Are some of your characters coming from a very different background, that influences how they interprete the actions of the other characters? Do their priorities differ due to their upbringing? Are there any potential linguistic markers or misunderstandings?

Whump and fixing it. Focusing on how bad the characters feel, short or long term. Are they denying to themselves how bad it is, and others are horrified? Are they convinced it’s not going to get better but gritting their teeth and fighting anyway, so that the improvements they manage to make feel so deserved? Or have they given up until they receive unexpected kindness from strangers, proving that yes, the world is hard but compassion and care will prevail?

Take your fandom to therapy. Psychoanalyse your characters. Tell me what twisted them so and how it impacts their lives. Are they aware? Are they working on it? Is it working?

Praise, edging, oversensitivity, delayed and/or multiple orgasms, all the nice feelings.

Selfcest, solo sex, fuck machines, tentacle monsters.

Pure porn is great, using sex to tell a story or analyze a character is also lovely, knock yourself out (if you want to)!

Hui is in trouble with a gang, Hyuna kills a guy who was trying to rape her, E'Dawn has mental health and potentially substance abuse issues and is trying to kill himself. There's drinking, smoking, and implied sex (Hyuna and E'Dawn, but at one point they all wake up in the same bed, great OT3 vibes!) The police catches up to them and they jump off the expressway together.

In real life, Triple H was a somewhat short lived project group featuring Hyuna, her secret boyfriend E'Dawn and his group leader and friend Hui. Lots of stuff happened since then. If you know (or want to learn) about it, feel free to take inspiration from it, but it's not required.

Also, I have no preference between stage names and legal names.

Alternate universes where these three outcasts still find each other! Do they meet while planning a heist? Are they all service industry workers who hate their jobs? Is Hui a mafia boss, E'Dawn the son of a politician, Hyuna a serial killer? Etc etc etc.

A few snippets that can each spawn whole stories: the look Hyuna and Hui exchange when they decide to bring in E'Dawn, the three of them waking up in bed, the credits shot where they are leaning back but not actually falling.

E'Dawn and Hyuna are fucking, but are they talking about it? Similarly, how does Hui feel about it, and how do they (or do they not) end up all three together?

While we’re on the topic, E’Dawn and Hyuna ganging up on Hui. Teasing him while he crushes on the both of them, flirting more and more outrageously, telling random strangers that he’s their boyfriend. Fucking him together and confusing him because is that what friends do?? Are the two of them even together? Are they the three of them together? What is happening?? Etc.

The MV makes it look like everything goes so fast, but what about the slow, quiet moments of the day/night? Do they ever contemplate on where they are, do they ever start to process?

Don't worry about the special roles, the core of it is "werewolves game but in space": one or more imposters are hiding among a spacecrew. While the crewmates are busy fixing their ship/etc, the imposters are sneaking around, sabotaging stuff and killing crewmates. The crewmates can vote to eject people they suspect of being an imposter into space. The crewmates win if they get rid of all the imposters or fix everything there is to fix, the imposters win if they manage to kill enough crewmates or induce a critical failure. Players who get killed turn into ghosts, with limited possible interactions.

I’m fine with the canonical maps and gimmicks, I’m also fine with just using the premise! As long as at one point there is or was a crew of some kind and an alien hidden among them, it fits.

Ghosts?? Who can talk to each other but not the living? What if the impostors could hear them, would they functionally be mediums? Would the impostors have a very different understanding of death?

Could a lone human in a crew full of impostors manage to pass themselves off as one of them? Or role reversal where the aliens see the human as a monster trying to infiltrate their crew.

A sitcom-worthy comedy of errors where everyone in the crew thinks they’re the only impostor on board would lend itself very well to silly shenanigans (opportunities to add random tags!) and alternating POVs.

At its core, it’s a story about loss, family, art, and what it means to be real. The story very engaging and well-woven into the game. The graphics and soundtrack are gorgeous and very varied, the acting is amazing (kind of makes the hair and clothes animation look silly in contrast, actually), the characters are very endearing and complex and their interactions are delightful and heartbreaking in turns. All in all, I highly rec it!

I both love and hate how not real things end up being. Like, it makes sense! The whole story relies on it! But I really like to explore worlds that are anchored in reality. How do the supply chains work in Lumière, years after the fracture? What’s the model of government? What the fuck do they eat while on expeditions?? Why has no one tried to fix all the broken buildings in Lumière, is it an ongoing thing or do they not need the housing, but then again what about the sewers or electricity? Etc etc etc.

Please give me Gustave alive and happy. Actually, all of them, but him doubly so.

I’m curious about the alternate Paris the Dessendre family comes from. How does it work? What does it look like? Also, what about their powers in a modern AU?

If you’ve lived in France, I dare you to create The Most French work ever. Are they eating jambon-beurre sandwiches at the university library’s CROUS? That’s the level of French I’m talking about. Doesn’t have to be a full modern/mundane AU, mixing stuff up feels very true to the game too.

The slow thomp of Renoir’s cane as an ominous cue is just chef’s kiss. Also, the use of silence in some of the cutscenes? I don’t know, I just think this game has great pacing, even just Monoco and Verso’s back and forth is so dynamic! So, playing around with varying speed, suspens, ...?

I'm completely fine with anything from 100% fanon to that one very specific comics run from fifty years ago that was retconned three times since. I’m also fine with non-comics canon getting mixed in. Just let me know what to expect going in and we’re good!

The girls blend together and everything is a metaphor, so it's more inspiration fodder than a well-defined story and universe. If you'd like more material, or if it's all too vague, I'd recommend watching the Virtual Angel and Birth MVs and some random analysis videos, but this is optional. I'm not attached to any specific interpretation.

The girls switch place pretty often, with the exception of Jinsoul, who is Joan of Arc with the Excalibur gun/sword/crossbow. From what I understand, Choerry is the one who sees the girl fall at the start, and the one who stares at the TV intensely before closing one eye. Kim Lip replaces her when she opens it again(?), and is the one in the car (long then short hair) who goes to the club. Haseul is the one inside the TV and also one of the angels shot down by the hunters. Heejin is in front of the TV at some point, and is the angel with white hair and black eyes at the end. They all appear in the dance sequence.

If you want to make all the members one single character that’s fine. I’m also fine with a hivemind, mixing some of them into one character but not all of them, or whatever else you can come up with.

If taking all of it figuratively, the broken promise of wings at 20 is about adults telling children that things will get better/suddenly make sense/etc when they themselves become adults, and the bitterness of that not being true.

For a canon-verse alternative, consider the kind of plot where one member is getting anxious about their place in the group, either for good reasons (like in those post-survival-show Monsta X fic) and they have to fight for it, or for more banal reasons (everyone is stressed and tensions are building up, just bad circumstances though no one’s fault, or you could simply make management the bad guys?) and they get worse and worse until someone else notices. I’d prefer if the other members had understandable reasons for their behavior if they act like assholes, if possible.

I love everything that explores K-pop as an industry. Bleak boys band bingo (and the girls and foreign idols versions, all by the BBBfest), but also processes, structures, norms... This is often found in AUs where one of them is not an idol, or they are in the industry but not as idols. Of those, I have a specific fondness for Manager AUs, because, well, caretaking.

I also love exploring K-pop as a fandom. Social media posts, fake interviews, fake content, … A few examples: a story from the POV of a fansite master, be it an AU version of an idol or an OC. A fake episode of a variety show or in-house game show like Seventeen’s GoSe. A story told through social media artifacts like found footage.

The second thing I love about this fandom is the canon divergence/fixing potential. Yes, the canon is very shounen and requires some suspension of disbelief, but remove that and you’re left with a choice: either take it seriously and deal with it (Reborn’s training methods, for example, are horrendous and would scar his students for life), or translate it to a more realistic equivalent and explore that (what would good teaching methods look like in that situation?) This is true for so many characters’ behavior or backstory! Nana, Iemitsu, Kyouya, Xanxus, Byakuran, …

Similarly, I always love to see politics and plotting in this world. Either straight up exploring how that would replace flame fights, or through canon divergent AUs. For example, what if at least one of Xanxus’ brothers didn’t die?

The female characters are criminally under-developed. What about giving them a role in the story, or a story of their own? For example, Nana or Kyoko being a sky, or changing the genre to put stakes in their lives that contrast drastically with Tsuna’s.

Is Vongola hyper intuition just extra-strength anxiety? Where are my gardians? But more seriously, it could easily be twisted to actual anxiety, synesthesia, him seeing monsters or yokai, or whatever else.

On top of Kinn and Porsche, there are two side couples. Vegas, Kinn’s cousin, fan of torture and full of daddy issues, kidnaps and bonds with Pete, a main family bodygard who also has daddy issues. Chay, Porsche’s cute little brother, gets to meet his favorite singer Kim, except Kim is actually Kinn’s youngest brother. Very different vibes to all three pairings!

Kim deserves one more big brother and I think Porsche would be perfect for the job. Scruff that boy like a kitten and make him talk about his feelings.

Or maybe literally turn him into a kitten! Shifter AU? Accidental curse from Porsche, who feels responsible and has to take care of cat!Kim? Having to run from the vet's because he got caught and semi-adopted by Chay?

Speaking of brothers, do you imagine the Theerapanyakun as completely out of touch with each other (bittersweet, alienating, hurtful), secretly aligned against their ennemies (oooh hidden communication, strategizing, plot twist!) or somewhere in between?

Food industry AU: are the Theerapanyakun the owners of a high-end resort? Do they just have a lot of restaurants in their money laundering portfolio? Did the Kittisawat brothers inherit a family restaurant that they're struggling to keep afloat?

Canon divergence in which Porsche works for the catering/event planning company the Theerapanyakun use for their above-board events. Could be a bartender like in canon, a security officer for some extra action, or maybe customer liaison for the established connection and the antagonistic start.

Tae as the "trophy wife" of Kinn! Is he actually an equal partner in the family? Are they not actually together (or not yet) but have agreed to pretend for some reason? And what happens when Porsche comes in?

Pete the newly-promoted or transfered detective trying to investigate, who gets in trouble with the Theerapanyakun. One side of the family? Both? Torn loyalties, falling in love, oh my! I'd prefer the police as an institution to not be painted in a good light, though mixed is fine. Another flavor of this would be company audits, although corporate taxes and compliance in Thailand is probably a very deep research rabbit hole and I know absolutely nothing about it.

Katekyou Hitman Reborn AU. I know it’s a little far-fetched, but consider it!

Location studies! If you want to stay accurate here are guides but vibes are also great. If you try to combine it with tags… Maybe hidden sextoys and guns and stuff in a room, like a game of where is Waldo/spot the difference?

I’m not going to mention all time periods or characters in my ideas, but feel free to mix it up!

If you’d prefer to stick close to canon that’s totally fine, but I’m reeeeeally not fussed about accuracy or OOCness for this fandom.

The clan feud lends itself very well to characters getting captured, hurt, stuck in enemy territory or whatever else, expecting the worse, and their expectations getting proven wrong! Why were they spared or helped? And what would be needed to establish a little trust?

We don’t know much about Mito, but I like to imagine her as a smart but pretty head-strong character, and I think she’d make a very interesting foil to Hashirama in that trio. I’d love to see your take on her and Madara getting to know each other before the founding of Konoha. Does one of them contact the other and start a correspondance before she moves to Fire? (Could be Madara for spying/sabotage purposes, could be Uzushio for political plays, could be Mito by curiosity, …?) I could also easily see a scenario where they meet while she’s on the way there, or one of them developping a fascination with the other while the war/feud is still going.

What if it’s Izuna who mortally wounds Tobirama and not the reverse? I can’t imagine he’d die, but it would probably change things a lot. How would Hashirama react? How would the rest of the Senju clan react? If Tobirama is convalescent or forced to retire, what would he do? Would he disappear into his research, or focus on the internal affairs (and/or politic!) of the clan?

I’m always a little baffled at Shippuden!Madara, but I’m open to being convinced! Would you Lima syndrom him with Obito? Explain it through mind-fuckery by Zetsu and/or what he did to survive so long? Just make it make sense, however you’d like.

Plot bunny up for adoption, in whole or in parts: warring-clans-period!Madara starts getting very confusing snippets (dreams? Visions?) of future!him. How would he interpret it from his POV? Is it enemy interference, does he go on a roadtrip through Fire Country that leads to building relations with other clans as he searches for answers? Is it a divine mission sent by Amaterasu, and he brings us on a deep dive into Uchiha traditions and records that ends with Zetsu dead? Or maybe he thinks it’s the Senju again, guess he better monitor that damn demon very closely… get to know him from a distance/under disguise… fall for him… wait what?

Pre-canon is free real estate for worldbuilding and fixing!

How would you save Sakumo? Maybe he left instead of committing suicide (mental breakdown? Abduction? Stuck on a mission far away?), maybe someone stepped in, I don’t know, but I’d be interested in that canon divergence. Also, what about an outsider’s POV from little Kakashi on that?

Baby Naruto deserved better. I don’t have as many concrete ideas about how, but he did.

I know Shisui’s death is weirdly ninja-like (the fight didn’t blow up a quarter of a village, in fact no one noticed) because it’s the backstory of a backstory, but come on, he was supposed to be a generational talent! What if he had a backup plan and it went wrong (but not as wrong as in canon)? He had a plan… except now he’s stuck in the past as a baby again. At least he’ll have more time to come up with a solution? Or he’s time travelled to just after the massacre and has to take care of Sasuke and also figure out the truth because there is no way Itachi would do this. Han Yoojin's brother, Yoohyun, who he basically raised, awakens as a powerful S-rank and seemingly leaves him behind to a miserable life as an F-rank hunter. Except that when something goes wrong in a dungeon, Yoohyun sacrifices himself to save Yoojin! Granted a wish by defeating the dungeon, Yoojin decides to go back to the past, reconcile with Yoohyun, and live a quieter life. Then he realises that he now has the ability to help others reach better skills and ranks, starts collecting S-rank hunters and raising baby monsters while still F-rank himself, and gets embroiled in a plan to save the universe.

The story is set in a fantasy world in which alchemy is real and controlled by the empire, which uses it to create homunculi for free slave labor. Each member of the family is supposed to select and bind (imprint) a personal homunculus knight, which are a mix of champions and bedservants. Evenrose, the seventh princess, always refused to take part in that system due to her moral beliefs. After the homunculus uprising, her sister Rosenitte tricks her into drinking poison to escape her imminent execution. When she wakes up years in the past, Eve decides to prevent all of this from happening by becoming empress and freeing the homunculi earlier. To do so, she imprints the leader of the rebellion, Michaelis.

It’s kind of enemies to lovers but not really. The burn is very slow but it is constant! I love that they both need the other’s help at various times and genuinely come to like/respect each other. The male lead gets character development! It’s great for fealty kink and consent issues with the normalized noncon.

Elijah and Silvestian are knights of other princesses and are very envious of Michael. Silvestian in particular needs a rescue really badly. In canon they want to be chosen by Eve, but 1) jealous Michael is kind of hilarious and 2) do they want to be him or do they want to be with him?

Rimona is a singer that Eve sponsors, except Rimona doesn’t know that at first. They’re just really sweet and admirative of each other, the yuri basically writes itself.

Modern corporate AU of the plot. Chaebol succession crisis? Do you keep the alchemy or do you make homunculi humans somehow? Is the academy a private university? Etc.

Uraraka is one of Izuku’s classmates. She’s bright and bubbly and determined. Her power is cancelling gravity, so her theme is space. Toga is one of the villain, her concept is kind of yandere with a side of vampire? High school uniform, pointy fangs, lots of confusion between wanting someone, wanting to be them, and wanting to consume them. The two of them fight, trauma bond, and at the end Toga dies to save Ochako’s life by giving her a blood transfusion.

Dabi is one of the villains. He’s got a tragic past (daddy issues, heavy burns from his own blue flame quirk) and a valid criticism of the heroics system, but he also decided to become a serial killer about it, so. Hawks, on the other hand, is a winged hero who works for the Commission and is tasked to infiltrate the League of Villains, the group Dabi is with. He’s also got issues with the system, because (potential spoiler?) he was basically a child soldier and the Commission has been doing shady shit for years. The two of them are tragically destined to destroy each other because of the choices they make, and I love to see how else things could have gone. Also, Dabi’s characterisation in fanworks is really influenced by when the work was created, I’m fine with all options.

Class 1-A is Izuku’s class at UA. They’re mostly good kids and I’m interested in the sub-group dynamics just as much as complete ensemble stuff.

I find the League of Villains quite endearing in AUs where they’re a bunch of loosers. Gamer guild? Regulars at Kurogiri’s bar? Outcasts who found each other?

Class 1-A being silly kids. Who is daring who to do something dangerous? Who is trying to start a harmless rumor about Aizawa sensei? Etc etc.

I have only read the comic so I'm basing my pitch on that, but I'm 100% ok with content from the novel! I can parse context clues or look it up, and I’ve already spoiled myself for a lot of it.

Do you like depressing but realistically human apocalypse lore, dystopian moral dilemmas and crisis management, short glimpses of complex characters, what it means to be human or monster or something else altogether, disease outbreaks on steroids, non-human protagonists, mushrooms, maybe kind of mpreg kind of not (novel only)? This tiny fandom might be for you! While it has a happy ending, please note that there are a lot of minor character deaths.

Lu Feng as a political figure is such a specific moral dilemma (100% accuracy in a seemingly necessary task with extremely bad optics) and I'm not sure how to translate it into a more mundane AU. Which parts of him are inherent, which are learned, and from what? What would you keep and how would you explain it?

Not gonna lie I wish An Ze didn't die. What if him and the little mushroom fused into one body with two linked minds instead?

I'm not sure if that Lu Feng doll gets any plot relevance later on in the story but in my heart it gets its shining moment. Comedy of error? Used as a toy? AU in which artist An Zhe gets commissioned to make some very questionable fanart and that's how they meet?

What if Lu Feng took the whole mushroom back to the Lighthouse, not just his spore?

If you'd like to try to try and thread that needle, and that is fully optional, I do like kidfic that focuses on one parent's desire to have a kid and the relationship with that kid as a fully fleshed-out character, while I tend to dislike kids as plot devices or as an extension of their parents' love for each other. I love weird monstrous worlds and building safety and community in a hostile world, I dislike the permeating fear of an inexorable decline.

I feel like this fandom would be great for a duality concept. Before and after, dead and alive, human and monster, ... Maybe playing cards or overlaid pictures? Just taking conventional imagery and symbolism and turning it on its head?
