We bring this news with deep sorrow. Due to an unexpected issue with her heart, Cat Frazier died June 29th, 2026. Creator of the Tumblr @animatedtext, Queen of Memes, and host of “Memesplaining” on Super Deluxe, she crafted a unique aesthetic by blending nostalgic and modern elements of design, producing meme formats that are still referenced daily. Beloved sister, dedicated friend, confidant, leader, and activist, her shoes will never be filled. She was able to relate to people in their worst moments and turn pain into laughter. She’d use art, jokes, and her wit to touch people’s lives. She cared about so many through her work– she made online and real world communities her friends, bringing people into her world and coming into theirs. She will be loved, missed, and always remembered. If you ever felt moved or touched by Cat’s work in life, we would deeply appreciate any contribution, no matter how small, to help lay her to rest in the way she deserves.

Hiiii can I ask a personal question? It's okay if you don't want to answer! My partner suspects they might be a trans woman, but they're a bit scared to transition bc they're 34 and they think they're too old for it. I'm being very supportive and telling them that time will pass anyway and that you're never too old to transition, but idk how else to really help. I started my transition at 17 so yeah... Got any words of wisdom that I could give them?
My advice is that I just hung out with my friend who transitioned in her thirties starting last year and she's literally the happiest she's ever been in her life. I can see the light coming back to her eyes every time I hang out with her and she is so filled with joy and love that it makes my heart full whenever I get the chance to interact with her.
It is never, ever too late to make a change that will make you happier. Maybe the best time to do it was yesterday, but the second best time is right now. The only true deadline for transition is death, and lemme tell ya, spending between now and then as a happier, more true version of yourself is the best thing you can do. There's trans people who started in their 40s, 50s, 60s, and hell, even 70s. Probably some people who've done it in their 80s and 90s too! And those people are happier than they were yesterday. I think we should all pursue the happiest version of ourselves, and even if it brings some hardships we wish we could avoid, god, it's worth it. It's so fucking worth it.
Tim Hortons is doing a Harry Potter collab and like. Whatever. I quit going there years ago because the food and drinks are bad. But it's annoying me off how people keeping boiling down folks boycotting Tim's to "People are mad about things JRK said on Twitter" and "People are mad because they don't like Harry Potter". I heard the former stated as the reason on the radio the other day. Jesus Christ, no. People are mad because any money JKR gets from this promotion will be funneled straight into lobbying against transgender rights and access to healthcare in the UK. Very tangible real world harm. It isn't about the ideological purity of the stupid wizard donuts.

Five Palestine Action activists in the United Kingdom will not be sentenced under terrorism laws, a judge has ruled. Brendon O’Hagan, 28, Amanda Kelly, 31, Hmeera Atiqnisar, 31, Mohammed Malik, 28, and Alma Yaniv, 70, were convicted in June of causing damage worth 212,000 pounds ($290,000) to a branch of Barclays bank in the town of Burnley in Lancashire in August 2024. The activists were protesting against the bank’s shareholdings in the Israeli weapons manufacturer Elbit Systems. On Friday at Preston Crown Court, as Judge Robert Altham announced his ruling, scores of their supporters gathered outside erupted into cheers and pro-Palestine chants. Malik’s mother, Dove Malik, told Al Jazeera, “It’s a victory for us, it’s a victory for Palestine, it’s a victory for protesting … We are on the right side of history.” In a joint statement, the activists said they were “extremely relieved that the court has seen sense and decided not to sentence us as terrorists”. “This should never have been an option,” they said. “We were on trial for charges of criminal damage, for damaging some windows and spraying red paint on a Barclays branch. At no point during the trial were we, or the jury, informed that, if convicted, we could face being sentenced as terrorists.” The five are due to be sentenced on September 4. At the time of their verdicts, Palestine Action had not been proscribed as a terrorist group. Neither the defendants nor the jury were aware that terrorism charges might be involved.

Apparently, the jury asked the judge if they would be sentenced as terrorists or not,
because the last time this happened the jury made a verdict unaware that the judge then decided to go ahead and sentence them as terrorists
Last I heard about this, the judge had said he wouldn't disclose that, so this is a huge win, but also disgusting that our justice system works this way.
