Triple Drabble-ish
Title: Between an Elder God and a Hard Place

Weiss’s first thought when he regains consciousness: that’s the bluest eye I’ve ever seen. Reflexively, he immediately follows this with thinking that this puts him in the running with Marshall for king of non sequiturs under fire. But...who the hell is Marshall? Since when do I know anybody named Marshall? Distracted and still very groggy, Weiss frowns and stares back at the blue eye above him for a moment. It doesn’t move. The idea that it might belong to a real being is so ludicrous that he doesn’t even entertain it. Until it blinks.
“Fuck!” Weiss scrambles up and back, flailing against the sand beneath him until he runs into a tree trunk with a jarring thump. His hand scrabbles at his left ribs, where he feels instinctively that something useful and defensive should be. The eye swivels to track his progress calmly, which doesn’t make him any calmer at all.
“You will remain still. In the days of my kingdom, your pathetic struggles might have afforded me some entertainment before I eviscerated you and used your intestines to leash my hounds. At this time, your clumsy shamblings only annoy me.”
Weiss stops struggling for a standing position, which was proving difficult with his nauseating dizziness anyway. He leans against the tree behind him, half kneeling and half crouching. His eyes follow the stalk attached to the eye back to a body that he’d at first taken for a rock. It appears to be a deep sandy brown with cobalt streaks that wind across it in indecipherable patterns. It looks something like the body of a squid, and Weiss is pretty sure that the curves beneath its main bulk are coiled tentacles, but he really doesn’t want to find out.
The eye is still looking at him fixedly. “You were the operator of the flying device in which you and your group arrived here. You will explain how this dimension was created, by whom, and for what purpose.”
