I'm way behind on watching things as usual. I got behind when I was on vacation and then haven't caught up. I assumed I would be able to catch up this weekend until I remembered that it's the US Open (I didn't remember it had started until Wednesday). I've had the US Open on yesterday and today, although I don't always pay attention, and last night I watched the gator game. I don't know what the game actually said about how they'll do this year; I would have though they should have beaten FAU worse than they did.
I stopped at the one nursery that I've noticed near me and like I thought they only have landscaping plants. They did have snake plants but they were larger than what I want. So I've resolved myself to buying plants at box stores. This morning I bought a marigold and something else (it didn't have a tag) for outside. They were 50 cents a piece, so they'll be worth their price. I've planted seeds for marigolds a couple times this year but they never sprout. Since all my outside plants, except my avocado plant (which looks pretty rough), are dead, I thought I needed something outside. I did pull all the weeds that had taken over my pots and maybe I'll toss in some seeds later. I think my main problem has been that all my seeds are from last year.
I did buy one indoor plant, a peace lily, which should be sufficiently low maintenance. I also finally bought an proper planter for my African violet. There were several self-watering planters on sale but of course they were larger sizes when I wanted a smaller one. They had snake plants but they were the ones that have the light colored edges and I want the kind that are mostly green. I'm indecisive about a pothos.
I was a bit worried about Katia when I saw where it was located. But then I looked to see what the projected path is; it so sucks to live in NC and VA, but maybe they'll get lucky and it will keep to the middle of the ocean track.
