Summary of recent interviews and performances... plus a question.

Just realized Mr. Bird had been doing a lot of radio interviews and performances recently promoting "Break It Yourself" and I thought I'd just gathered a couple of them in one post for people who are interested. Granted, the questions are rather repetitive, but it's still nice to watch/listen.

Interview and performance on KCRW's Morning Becomes Eclectic: Audio | Video

Bing Lounge 101.9 KINK FM: Interview | Dance Caribe | Near Death Experience Experience | Eyeoneye | Give It Away

Field Day Radio (interview is at around the 20-minute mark): Interview

Not radio but there are highlights from last Saturday's Coachella performance: Plasticities | Dance Caribe

And now a question: Did anybody purchase the deluxe edition of "Break It Yourself"? I only have a digital copy so I've been contemplating of getting a CD but was torn between the normal edition ($12) and deluxe ($15). Is the DVD from the deluxe edition worth the three extra dollars? XD Thanks!

Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago: Sonic Arboretum

For you lucky Chicago residents, or those who will be visiting Chicago during the month of December, Andrew Bird and Ian Schneller's exhibition "Sonic Arboretum" (thoroughly explained here on MCA's website) will be on display from December 6th - 30th, 2011.

Here's a video introducing the exhibition:

Andrew will be performing at the museum on December 21 and 22.

I think I'll just be moping in a corner by myself for missing this... Le sigh.

New Layout. New Maintainer/Moderator.

Hello everyone! This is ryukoishida and I'm your shiny new maintainer and moderator of andrew_bird. Since the original owner and mods of this community seemed to have abandoned this baby, I am now taking over... well only in the sense that I'll be deleting spam posts and such to ensure everyone is having a good time here :)

In an attempt to make the comm more organized, I've tried to put entry tags for the past 200 something posts dating back to 2003 (wow!). This is to make searching through past entries easier for those who wish to do so. But I think I've only gone through about 1/4 of the posts :/

I'm also relatively new at maintaining a comm (this is my first!) so I welcome any and all suggestions to make this place more fun and lively!

Here's a short list of posting rules, which I've also posted on the User Info
+ Opinions are welcome; rudeness and flaming is not.
+ Fanworks (e.g. graphics, fanfictions, fanart) are welcome.
+ Please tag posts accordingly.
+ Please make use of LJ-cuts for the following:
- large posts
- images over 400px
- more than 3 icons

The posts of this comm are also currently NOT moderated; in other words, anyone who's a member can post here without waiting in queue for my approval. However, if there are increased amount of spam posts or otherwise unrelated posts, I will change the settings.

But first things first: Who's still around?! :D
