no matter how hard i try, nothing i write will ever be as fucked up as the stuff somebody who thinks they're creating a Wholesome AU with unexamined beliefs will make.

couldn't leave this in the tags

There is a post kicking around in the back of my head I might never make about how I find character bashing to be uniquely revealing like tbf unexamined beliefs creep in everywhere but when an author is deliberately writing characters to be unsympathetic oh boy like there was one I saw recently where the characteristic they gave women to make them unsympathetic was being divorced Ive been thinking about it ever since

For me a big part of “sex work is work” is that sex work should be socially viewed as totally legitimate work. I should be able to put sex work on my resume. I should be able to lean on the skills and knowledge I gain in this field and have that experience be respected. Right now I have a gap in my resume. But I’m also consistently doing advertising, social media management, inventory, merchandising, customer service, upselling!!! I’m working self directed, I’m solely responsible for every aspect of my business. I deserve respect, fuck.

you'll be on Tumblr and you'll see that the trans woman puppygirl-1999 got her blog nuked for posting a clothed selfie and then you'll see some tme with the username "gender-goblin" posting about how trans women have male privilege and don't experience misogyny and they don't get nuked then you'll look in their notes and see some dude named fucking hitlerguy1488 whose main contribution to the website is reblogging trans women's posts calling them the n word and then you'll see some asshole saying that trans women all have "nazi phases" and this keeps going until you hear a weird ringing in your ears and pass out

The radical feminist statistics on why "people AMAB" have male privilege relies entirely on misdirection. Statistics showing privileges awarded to "boys" means nothing when all trans people comprise 1% of the total population of the US and you're folding a further fraction of that into a total of 49% the population. You cannot believe any of that shit applies to trans women unless you just think trans women are men and don't see fit to make the distinction.

One in eleven cis boys may experience sexual abuse, but to say that means one in eleven trans girls experienced sexual abuse is completely insane. Trans girls are not boys. They are treated differently than boys. Categorizing them as boys is an intentional act of erasure that obscures their relationship to sexual abuse because they happen to belong a category that would be privileged if they were not trans girls. You can't just ignore that part when being trans girls and not part of the "boy" grouping is the whole fucking point. Of course it looks like we're privileged if you wipe us out by drowning our numbers in the billions of cis men because you see us as one and the same.

yupppp people do not want to accept that showing early signs of trans womanhood gets you treated differently. the closet door is glass

mousidy

we don't spontaneously turn trans at some point in life. when we show early signs of trans womanhood it leads to more than just a slap on the wrist to "correct" us, it fundamentally shapes how we are perceived and treated by peers and adults alike. next these people are gonna tell us all about ~Rapid-Onset Gender Dysphoria~
