A Beastmaster Primer
I posted this fandom pimp over on 
yuletide, but I thought I'd share it here too...
Fandom: "Beastmaster". Fantasy TV series loosely based on the movie of the same name. Dar is the Beastmaster, protector of the animals.
Ship: Dar/Tao (also Voden/Dar, Voden/Tao, King Zad/everyone)
Comments: If a kind, gorgeous, athletic (nearly naked) man running around the jungle saving animals with the help of his adorably cute, smart, slightly clumsy male companion sounds appealing, then this is the show for you!
Not enough? How about an omnipotent sorcerer who ages backwards, a ruthless warlord king, a warrior woman, a beautiful sorceress, a scheming young blond Nord invader, tigers, ferrets, demons, unicorns... all served up with a side of cheese, low-budget special effects, subtext, and a heart of gold.
Dar and Tao start off as strangers, but quickly become inseparable. Their relationship grows over the series and it becomes clear that they both love and care deeply for each other. Season one antagonist King Zad brings some of his own subtext to the game, trying to get his hands on both Dar and Tao. And season two brings the handsome young King Voden, who tries his very best to get the Beastmaster to join his side. This show has so much eye-candy and subtext, it's a slasher's paradise.
