It seemed to become a habit of Alexis' to situate herself on the branch of a tree, though this time she was out in the wilderness near the river; not somewhere between the Autobot med-bay, Haven or anywhere near the two. She found that the closeness with nature was an integral part of her healing from the time spent in the war against the Decepticons and later on against Unicron. It was still new to her to consider herself a Decepticon when for four years she supported the Autobots. But she knew Star-ko was worth keeping close to and had been reminded of such actions recently.
But the pain was still there. The downright excruciating pain of knowing that he had been torn so viciously away from her life before made her heart tear itself into tiny pieces at revisiting old wounds...
She ran as fast as her legs would carry her on the Axalon. The necklace had just broken and she saw the twin laser beams disappear before even reaching Unicron. She didn't understand fully what happened, but she knew it wasn't good. It could never have been good if someone she cared for was deeply wounded. She knew Starscream wanted to face Galvatron but she didn't know the outcome of their battle. Had he won? Had he died? She wouldn't know until the reports were in from Cybertron.
A shudder at this memory resurfacing came and she hugged herself, She didn't know what prompted her into remembering one of the darkest hours of her life. It had been bad enough that Starscream refused to join them after she and Hot Shot had practically begged him. It wasn't a time in her life that she wanted to remember but the next memory came onto her like a runaway train.
She was a child again, sitting in her bedroom in the sleepy little town in Nebraska that her family lived in. Her parents were talking back and forth in Japanese down below in the kitchen. She knew this couldn't have been real. She was inside Unicron, wasn't she? The necklace she favored rested on the nightstand beside her bed, its surface was broken deep by the undeniable fact that Starscream had died from the blow of the Requiem Blaster. She didn't want to believe it was true but couldn't find a way out of this nightmare.
Then the scenery changed. Before her and the boys was a gruesome sight of Autobots and Decepticons alike, trapped inside Unicron like bugs on fly-paper. Optimus Prime, Galvatron, Cyclonus, Red Alert, everyone. She couldn't believe what she was a witness to. These were her friends! A sound would draw her attention away from the two faction leaders when she and the boys saw Hot Shot, barely alive it seemed, while he talked about the war and how Unicron fooled them with the Minicons. Those moments in terror shut down all systems and refused to let her continue on in spite of the change of scenery again. But she didn't want to remember these things.
At that memory, she curled up as tightly as possible, tears streaming down her cheeks as old wounds were peeled open by the remembrances she didn't really want or need. The violation was still fresh. The memories so clear like she'd just forged them from nonexistence.
The tentacles that Unicron employed had ensnared she and the boys when she seemed to lose consciousness. It seemed that way, but in reality she was under Unicron's control. He was able to control her mind now. The scenery changed from that of the insides of Unicron's spark chamber to a most horrific scene.
She was alone inside the Autobot base. No one else was there to save her from the mech that now stood before her. She didn't recognize Starscream for the way he looked. His frame was not influenced by a Sukhoi Su-35 but an F-22 Raptor now. She didn't understand but those glowing green optics burned into her eyes like fire.
"Starscream...?" She asked, very much hesitant to find out who it was that she was now facing.
"That is my name, but I don't know you." The multi-coloured jetformer said before disappearing as if he was never there.
She looked down to the necklace resting on her chest. The gem was whole! Was this really the Starscream she grew to love? But before she could react, she felt something sickeningly hot and bright pass through her from behind. Starscream had opened fire on her and she was as one dead to the world from the pain of close-range fire.
"Starscream... Why...?" She said before the scene changed
The rest of that terrible nightmare was too much for her to wish to endure as the tears refused to cease. She never quite knew what to expect anymore and the memory of the Optimus in the med-bay refusing to tell her what happened made her all the more upset.
Slowly, she made her way down from the tree and laid there near a bush on the side of the path as she tried to regain composure.
